15/15. I gasped when I saw S. Barber on the list because I am familiar with only fraction of his oeuvre, but the Adagio is such an iconic piece that probably every seasoned music lover will recognise it. The rest wasn’t difficult for me. Thanks for the opportunity to test my memory!
I love these! Guess the composer and classical or not, I think are my faves. I enjoy how much I know and how much humility I gain from these quizzes! Many thanks! ;)
I also really like the series “Classic or not?” and I can’t understand why it has fewer views than other episodes)) By the way, the “Guess the Composer” series will return in September.
Guessed 13 correctly. Got the Vivaldi by style couldn't place where it was from - likewise the Handel but forgot it was from Ariodante. By the way the title of the that Handel aria is Scherza Infida not Infilda. These quizzes getting more challenging - keep them coming.
I recognized the Haydn theme because I once had a music theory assignment where I had to harmonize that melody in SATB style and then write a variation on it for at least three instruments. Didn't know Brahms had a similar assignment, though!
The main thing I have learned from these is that I'm awful at remembering titles and even composers😅 Half the time I recognize the piece, but can't connect it with a name - although at least I'm okay with guessing the right era! I'm also unsurprisingly not doing great with opera (not my cup of tea) and I'm better with the pre-19th century stuff. That said, a lot of my exposure to classical music happens via church choir, so if you ever do one of these on masses and other liturgical music, I probably would be more in my comfort zone😊
Well, there are easy, medium and hard. There really have been a lot of difficult tasks lately. But I will continue to make different difficulties so that it will be interesting for everyone.
This one was not hard at all. However I missed the the full score because I confused Handel with Vivaldi. Baroque... I tell ya, sounds all the same. So only 14 out of 15. And you tried to trick us with the Saint-Saens. Thank God I know the piece. ;)
You are not so easily deceived). Well, now I’ll have to, on the contrary, choose the Medium level instead of the HARD, if several more people show a high result.
I somehow got the Berlioz and Telemann ones right, despite not being familiar with either of them. I'd love to see something like "guess the string quartet".
11/15 for me, a bit better than the last one! Didn't know the Scriabin, and confused myself on the piano pieces although I got the Liszt. 97/120 in total at this stage.
A good result both here and in general. I’m also thinking of summing up some general statistics for different videos, but I haven’t come up with a way to implement and present it. I will think))
12/15 this time. I should mention I listened in a loud and distracting environment, but that is hardly an excuse. Did not recognize Berlioz, heard of Scriabin but never heard anything by him so did not recognize, and Telemann tricked me into thinking he was Bach...(I am a little bit ashamed of that as a former - very long ago - trumpet player). But then again, it is more fun with a bit of challenge!
Nice quizz :) Maybe you should put an interrogation mark for the last one, so the composer can be either the last remaining name on the list or another one behind the question mark, unrevealed till the end. Or put extra names so we can guess the last one.
Thanks for the advice. I always read user reviews very carefully. But I still don’t want to add new ones or ask questions at the end of the quiz. In the last videos, he simply gave me an additional task, for example, to guess the composition.
In my opinion, the level of this part is Medium, but based on the latest videos and comments on them, I thought in advance that it would be better to choose HARD.
When I started this series I thought about making 5. But now there will be exactly 10 parts, and then I haven’t decided yet: to continue or do something else.
Thanks for the great result. Scriabin, Telemann and Stravinsky were needed for this purpose, to complicate the others. Although Stravinsky can easily be identified as superfluous))

I was very surprised by Barber when I took a quiz about marches, since I don’t know him very well))
@@adiosmusictest Try his First symphony or the violin concerto.
Got 11 composers but only identified 6 works. And took Saint-Saëns for Mozart. Please, more!
This time there are several similar melodies and if you don’t know for sure, you can confuse them
same, haydned by Brahms, mozarted by Saint-Saens. 🤨

8/15. Fell into a few "traps".
But it would be boring without traps))
Great fun Dmitrii!
Love these quizzes. More please ❤
Thank you. I will definitely continue!

This is cool. I only recently found out about this myself))
I could only tell that was Brahms from the instrumentation but I didn’t recognise what the theme was
And the theme isn’t even likely by Haydn either.
13/15 composers, but only 6/15 pieces.
Thanks a lot for these classical music tests ! A big gap on TH-cam is filled.
You are absolutely right. At one time I myself loved taking quizzes, but I discovered that there weren’t that many good ones.
Thanks for another entertaining quiz. 13/15 composers but only three pieces identified.
Thank you. This time I decided to make life a little easier for everyone))
Loving the series! Thanks for putting these together!
Thank you. We will continue since the audience likes it!
15/15, identified 7 pieces

Thanks for the feedback and advice. I don’t have any plans yet, but maybe I’ll get to your comfortable type of the classic.
@@adiosmusictest No worries, I know I have a really selective taste in that regard😅
Your quizzes are hard. I've been listening to classical music for a long time, and I usually miss so many that I kind of give up half way through. 🤔🙂
Well, there are easy, medium and hard. There really have been a lot of difficult tasks lately. But I will continue to make different difficulties so that it will be interesting for everyone.

12/15 thank you so much for all these quizes, they’re helping me a lot
Thanks for watching. Always happy to help in this way!
Idea for future videos: maybe make a quiz with a theme (all piano concertos, or all opera, all French), or from the same period (all Classical period)
Thanks for the idea, I am collecting interesting suggestions and will use them periodically in the future!
Which movement of the Firebird was included?
12/15. Telemann, Strauss and Saint-Saens tripped me up.
I somehow got the Berlioz and Telemann ones right, despite not being familiar with either of them. I'd love to see something like "guess the string quartet".
I haven't thought about this yet, but thanks for the suggestion.

9/15 (three exact works, six only the authors)

Got all but 3 but only knew 7 music titles. Thank you!
And thank you. I'm still looking for a balance of difficulty.
@@adiosmusictest Medium’s about my speed. I don’t play the NYT Crossword past Wednesday.

In my opinion, the level of this part is Medium, but based on the latest videos and comments on them, I thought in advance that it would be better to choose HARD.
How about another Guess The Symphony, 1-9, but all 9 are Bruckner, or all 9 are Mahler, or Mix & Match between Bruckner & Mahler?
Similar ideas have already crossed my mind, but so far they have not come to fruition.
9/15. And why the hell did you have to start with this goddamn Adagio?
This one was easier than 7th one and even then 6th one) I guess 11/15 here and 99/120 totally... How many parts left?)
When I started this series I thought about making 5. But now there will be exactly 10 parts, and then I haven’t decided yet: to continue or do something else.
@@adiosmusictest OK. First five were rather easy, I had 69 of 75 )

15/15 - reasonably easy, I guess. (By the way, "Scherza infida" not "infrida".)
Thank you. I looked through it several times before publishing, but never noticed the typo.
Is that Franz Liszt talking AI-generated? If yes, he is quite sassy on this one :D
By the way, this is a great idea. Franz can say whatever he wants. I even had the idea to read good comments on TH-cam on his behalf))
twelve out of the fifteen.
14/15 didn’t recognise the Saint-Saens symphony
Scherza Infida , non infrida!
Thanks for the correction, I noticed the error too late.
