@reality151 For myself, not at all. This is forbidden in our religion and one of G-ds' important commandments for Jews. But in Judaism, we don't believe in forcing others into our religion. G-d made Jews and non-Jews. The commandments that I must follow don't apply to Hindus. Also, Hinduism does not explicitly practice idolatry. Hindus believe, ultimately, in a single God, but that God takes many forms. The idols you see in Hindu temples are a representation of those forms (Hanuman, Ganesh, etc) but most Hindus I know deny worshipping the idol itself. Hindus also have a great respect for Jews and have treated Jews with dignity for our entire history. So I feel I should return the favor.

Few things of HINDUISM I want to share with everyone: 1) Hinduism Dharma is only biggest religion in world who worships female Goddesses equally as well. Other religions only says that their God is male, not female....but only Hinduism believes in this that universe is made up from both masculine energy as well as feminine energy, so we worships Goddesses equally. 2) Hinduism is only religion who gives rights to transgenders as well. Hinduism embraces transgenders similarly as any male or female. Transgender specially worships Lord Shiva as their isht-dev. 3) Hinduism allows atheism as well. Hinduism holy books gives full rights to atheism as to find own ways for their moksha/purpose of life. 4) Hinduism says or teaches about "Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam" which means "whole world is one family" so treat everyone of world as a family members. 5) In Bhagwat Gita, KRISHNA says "Karm kiye ja, fal ki chinta na kar" which means "do your duty/karma without worrying about the fruit of your duty/karma". It's one of the very powerful message to humanity. 5) KRISHNA says "wherever there is no respect of women, that home/region/kingdom/civilisation gonna be destroyed by Karma through the will of KRISHNA" 7) Hinduism never says that if you won't worship me or believe me, then you will be burn in hell or any kind of threats. But Hinduism always says to surrender your sorrows, pain and joy in feet of KRISHNA or SHIVA (or if you worship goddess Maa Parvati or Maa Kali). KRISHNA will take care of believers as well as non-believers equally because he is omnipresent and he don't do partiality for believers and non-believers because it doesn't matter for supreme Lord of this universe. Hindus never opposed Churches. Even when Christian Missionaries and Portuguese soldiers were slaughtering and converting their way into South India, now Hindu ruler ever harmed an innocent Christian. Hindus are just some of the nicest people with a strong moral compass.
Hindus never opposed churches ?where ,,,, in US ,,,,?cos they are a minority there n they dont ve the audacity to do so in a christian country .While they enjoy a fairly unrestrained religious freedom in western world building temples everywhere even in arab and muslim nations. How bout in India.Have u heard about babri masjid mosque demolition in India? Have u heard of hindu fringe group barging into christian homes and churches and bashing the church goers .In many remote pockets of India ,christians are even forced to take down christmas stars and decorations for the festival.have u heard about about the call for minority genocide by hindu fringe gurus and godman who clothed themselves with saffron all in the name of hindutva.have u heard about the call for boycott of a film recently for using the saffron colour bikini .U may not ve even heard about a texas based 'global hindu heritage foundation' agenda of raising fund to destroy churches in India. We are Sensitive just about anything from food habits to dressing sense and music and movies to relationship and marriages (outside of one 's own caste and religions) to even saying hello on phone calls saying its unpatriotic (vande mataram instead of hello).while the country can afford to ve the most brilliant minds from christian institutions who rose to become the country's president and ministers .while nobody condones any nefarious act done by state sponsored christian missionaries n invaders in the days of yore.Back then it was the era of conquest and war .Everybody was up in arms against everybody even the indian states were Warring amongst themselves and imposing the ruler's beliefs on its citizens .when the invaders came ,the indian society was plagued with many socio religious evils-from dowry system and untouchability to female infanticide and human sacrifice ,the society was decadent and regressive. there were many indian socio religious reformers trying to restructure the indian society and move away from detrimental practices .Thats when the christian missionaries took advantage of the indian situation to convert the hindus. Yes there are instances of excesses committed here and there.but its irrational to compare christians of the past and now or justify christian prosecution today for what someone had done in the name of religion in the remote past. Its better to exercise self restraint than to comment about smthing u ve little or no knowledge.

As a non religious, non South Asian, I make special trips just to visit American Hindu temples, because they are master pieces of art work. The exterior of the buildings are typically made out of expensive hand carved stone or hand carved solid wood. The yards are generally filled with beautiful gardens with water features and from the ones I've been too, unless you're intentionally looking for it, the entrance might be missed altogether because of the landscaping. They are very quiet and serene places for worshippers. When you go inside the temple, you're not allowed to talk as to allow worshippers the opportunity to pray.

I personally find it encouraging that a Hindu temple is being built in a rural area in America (Hindu temples tend to be in mostly urban areas). As someone who goes to temples (and ashrams) a lot, I can assure these people they have nothing to fear from this; Hindu temples are beautiful and add positive sattvic energy to the surrounding area. Plus, Indians are very easy going, accommodating people so I'm sure they both can work out something mutually beneficial if the residents still have concerns. Given that these people live in a rural area, it's possible they've never met a Hindu (or Indian) in their life so they don't understand how this could actually help them.
If there are Hindu temples around them surely the price of their house will be very expensive...and become tourists attractions full of good energy peacefull.. is different from the holy places of other beliefs

Honestly as a Hindu, I don't think they know Hinduism, which is kind of expected from extensive evangelical education in the US. Hinduism is the only religion in the world which historically didn't and still doesn't accept converts. You have to be born as a Hindu to be one, no conversion however you can leave the religion as well and no one is gonna impale you because there is no concept of Excommunication/fatwa in Hinduism at all from the beginnings. A temple on a wasteland might increase the prices of YOUR lands apart from the Hindu architecture, which is unique among all religions. Many confuse us for Muslims( no hate to them), but we are far different from Muslims, infact Christians and Muslims have more in common than Hindus, both historically and even now. Secularism is also a Hindu concept exclusively, not Abrahamic at all, many churches and mosques were built starting from the 6th century AD in India( southern India specifically), under Hindu kings only, they all borrow from Hindu architecture extensively, such that only recently you would see domes as in Abrahamic architecture on them. Hindu kings accepted Burmese and other Buddhists, Jains, Zorastrians( from Iran), Syriacs( refugee orthodox Christians kicked out by Arabs in the 6th century from Syria), Knanyas+ cochin Jews( from Israel/middle-east), Armenian Christians( from genocides), Arab pagans( before Islam), Arab/Persian/turkic Muslims, Polish Christians, Rohingya Muslims, Maldivian Muslims, Tibetan Buddhists and many more, it was originally "Hindu" land which welcomed them all( if their logic is applied) and allowed them right to practice and Preach their religion as well. It took Europe/Christendom to accept non-Christians another 1000-1200 years, let alone middle Eastern countries, which still are lagging back in that. Let's not talk about the latter.

Actually, according to Swami Vivekananda, people can convert to Hinduism; and the Heliodorus pillar in India is proof that some pre Christian Greeks converted to Hinduism. In fact, there's even a white guru named Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya. I view all that as evidence that Hinduism is no longer just an ethnic Indian thing anymore; it's truly universal now.
@@ishumahyurumi864 well that's kind of true as well, like many Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Jews have also converted to Hinduism historically as well, but the idea of being a Born Hindu mainly arises from the fact, that Hindus actually didn't go outside of India or invade other countries for conversion as Islam or Christianity did. Greeks like Helena, the queen of Chandragupta was a Hindu queen of Greek origin some 2300 years ago. Also, Madhvacharya and Sankaracharya had already converted many Jains/Buddhists and Muslims as well to Hinduism.
I don't agree with you on one particular point- that is to be born a Hindu. If you see examples of famous Holy people like Swami Vivekananda, Bamakhepa they never did care if you belonged to a different religion. Heck Bamakhepa taught Hindu mantras to a Muslim person during those times. Sister Nibedita is originally an Irish Lady. With the works she did for our Motherland do you think she is any less of a Hindu than we are? Believing is everything in Hinduism. Any one can become a Hindu if he or she wants to. If not they can still pray to our Hindu Gods because they like them staying in their own religion. Don't be rigid.
The eagerness with which you build churches on every corner of the street in India is evident, and this practice has not faced any significant opposition. However, when Hindus express their intention to build a temple, it seems to encounter various objections. As someone who is not a Hindu, I recognize the fact that Hindus are law-abiding citizens in the USA and are among the most peaceful communities.

read what is going on in India! Hindus are persecuting Muslims and Christians under the terrorist Hindu government. Recently hindus burned down a church and beat a pastor These people are two-faced hypocrites. In the US you will see them as welcoming and peace-loving but what you see in India is a totally different story of their treatment towards Muslims and Christians
First, the Hindu way of life is not an ' off beat religion'.. and secondly, these bigots are only interested in their own benefits. Indian Hindu folks are some of the most loving and law abiding citizens that you can have.
While there are good hindus too.there r hardcore hindu fringe groups too.why are hindus increasingly becoming less interested about minding their own business but instead go about moral policing people from food habits, dressing style ,marriage and relationship . India is increasingly becoming intolerant I honestly feel.Never saw this much of polarization growing up. If u think m speaking in favour a religion,,, Christians must stop their conversion activity .Muslims must learn not to become terrorist .Hindus must stop picking fights with everybody.yes there are historical wrongs but no one in India today is responsible for wat happened 500 or 600 yrs ago.
Exactly! They see us as barbaric and filthy and it really hurts, hinduism teaches us to open our minds and hearts, not force people into a decietful dogma
The biggest impediment to world religious harmony today is the monotheistic Book based faiths teaching its followers my religion is the only religion, my path is the only path and my God is the only God. This breeds exclusion and intolerance. Hindus find no issues in celebrating christmas as for them it is just one more path to the many paths they have. No wonder many from these religions are moving to Eastern religions (which propogates that there are many ways to the same god) in large numbers..
Mate your "religion" tells you that cow poop and cow urine are holy. Your "religion" tells you to waste milk on your idols. Hinduism is pretty off beat to say the least.

I'm from india.. the people who left this country for their American dream.. to live a life in american culture and wealthy life... if they really Loved so much their own culture and religion why did they leave this country for the sake of money only... i know America is a free and democratic country but still outsiders should be able to adjust their lives according to local culture and not force their own... because most of America is atheist and they left this country for that very life for money, wealth and that culture

Bro we are educated. Not every issue needs to be protested. Some fade away. There are so many successful Hindus and some haven't. Hence we should be selective in standing up against issues. Cause we can't live alone
I'm Indian, I do see their point. It would cause a lot of crowding there, and possibly could cause a security risk since people don't know who's visiting. I would have a problem with a church being built right at my doorstep as well, especially Evangelicals who are known for being radical and for their neo-Nazi ideologies. They just need to talk to them.
Hindus are the only people who actually believe in diversity and acceptance. They never ask anybody to convert. They accept the laws. They will definitely ensure the full safety, peace, welfare and cooperation of the people living nearby. This is proved worldwide.
Unfortunately because of Kaliyuga , foolish people do not surrender to the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa. Even most people who claim to belong to the Vedic system of religion are actually opposed to the Vedic principles. Every day they manufacture a new type of dharma on the plea that whatever one manufactures is also a path of liberation. Atheistic men generally say, yata mata tata patha. According to this view, there are hundreds and thousands of different opinions in human society, and each opinion is a valid religious principle. This philosophy of rascals has killed the religious principles mentioned in the Vedas, and such philosophies will become increasingly influential as Kali-yuga progresses. Srimad-bhagavatam 6.8.19 purport 📎 KALIYUGA... the only Dharma is chanting the maha mantra... not worshiping fake spiritual leaders. Hindus outside of India like meat eating gambling illicit sex and intoxication, but hide behind such huge cheating temple communities
An empty unused church was recently turned into a temple dedicated to Vishnu. The Hindu worshippers never touched the cross at the top of the church. It remains intact. Acceptance is a difficult virtue to come by

So, if India was soo great, Indians wouldn't have been going to developed countrys for job, so they have no need to build temple in western country like U.S religion to them should be something personal, like inside there home, or in community gathering complexes that look very western by outer appearance. There is absolutely no need for immigrant Indians to call pilgrims from India to a foreign land. As it's not a holy land for them. For Hindu pilgrims, India's pilgrimage sites are the most holy.
some people oppose due to their fear of their own religion, very few may have genuine concerns, the only religion which wont oppose other definitely Hinduism
To the lady worried about who will buy her house once the temple is built; not to worry. Hindus are wealthy. If there is a temple nearby, then some Hindu will buy her house quickly but if she does not want to sell the house to Hindu then that will be an issue.
What someone needs to do is to buy the land and do a land patent on it. This takes it off of the county tax rolls and out of county control. Then the county commissioners won't have any say is what goes there.
If a Temple get built over there, I guarantee you these people who are opposing the construction of temple will visit temple once a week for tasty free meal, (Indian food). And temple will always welcome them. That's why I love Hinduism ❤❤ We can't just hate anyboday.

Its the Temple builders who are asking for a variant and trying to change the rules, not these people. It doesn't matter what YOU don't have a problem with...your opinion is irrelevant to this area. This is not your neighborhood. As far as abridging the practice of religion...that has to do with the government interfering in religion.

Few things of HINDUISM I want to share with everyone:
1) Hinduism Dharma is only biggest religion in world who worships female Goddesses equally as well.
5) KRISHNA says "wherever there is no respect of women, that home/region/kingdom/civilisation gonna be destroyed by Karma through the will of KRISHNA"
7) Hinduism never says that if you won't worship me or believe me, then you will be burn in hell or any kind of threats.

Basically they were epitome of development.
Same here. That comment was weird
Its more of a perception thing really. If it were a church or a shopping mall, price would go up. There is something similar in Singapore and Malaysia where value goes down if it were near minority based buildings or community.

@@PrinceTMATHEW Hitler was a Christian and Osama bin laden was a Muslim. That means all Christians and Muslims are bad .
Bro Hindu religion is on same level as all other religions nothing is special about Hinduism you are criticizing them well it's there land they will decide what to do
Actually, according to Swami Vivekananda, people can convert to Hinduism; and the Heliodorus pillar in India is proof that some pre Christian Greeks converted to Hinduism.
@@aniketraut4738 then they should not speak when Chrsitanity get crushed in India. Our country our rule
They are super insecure. Hindus have a very low conversion rate compared to other religions.

5) KRISHNA says "wherever there is no respect of women, that home/region/kingdom/civilisation gonna be destroyed by Karma through the will of KRISHNA"
7) Hinduism never says that if you won't worship me or believe me, then you will be burn in hell or any kind of threats.

Nah majority of hindus are naive, idealistic & emotional fools, nothing will open their eyes
Specially some Indian with a brain
Hindus are the only people who actually believe in diversity and acceptance. They never ask anybody to convert. They accept the laws. They will definitely ensure the full safety, peace, welfare and cooperation of the people living nearby. This is proved worldwide.
IT's a "security risk" for evangelicals - that's the point !
Hindus are neither radical, nor evangelical. Infact it has a secular democratic fabric.
Unfortunately because of Kaliyuga
, foolish people do not surrender to the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa.

Actually U.S is a country thats built not by Indian Hindus, but Anglo-Saxon Christians.

To the lady worried about who will buy her house once the temple is built; not to worry. Hindus are wealthy. If there is a temple nearby, then some Hindu will buy her house quickly but if she does not want to sell the house to Hindu then that will be an issue.
Pretty sure she's worried about that too but won't say it on TV.
Damn, Hindu temples are actually very welcoming and peaceful. Give lots of positive vibes. Sad to see it never being built.

The Freedom of Religion shall not be abridged...I would have no problem with that in my neighborhood. Seeing that my Church is about 1.5 miles away and there are 5 others with in 5 miles, go 10 miles about 4 more and a Synagogue. Wold be a wee bit hypocritical to object to someone else's place of worship, now wouldn't it? Would they object to a Mormon or Catholic or (heaven forbid, they made the Blazing Saddles list) Methodist Church wanted to go up? I work and live with folks from 4 different faiths and argue about it with none of them, funny that. Wonder where this one attends...betcha no where...wonder if she would mind a steeple...sounds like a perfect place for it. Thee is a word for these folks, the word is Hypocrite. When folks repeatedly say they have no problem with something, man do they ever have a problem... When it is time for you to move on, some rich Hindu may want it, what an idiot.
You automatically go to a cynical point of view. This is a rural area and they want to put a commercial building in. These people have every right to have a say in what is built in their neighborhood, just like you would in yours. You start shooting your mouth off making generalized and demeaning statements and motives about people you don't even know. Next, I'm sure you'll play the race card. Typical big mouth liberal.

Exactly they don't have guts to speak against Islamists
If property values drop at all during construction or after construction of the church compared to similar houses in similar neighborhoods in Nevada the church should have to compensate the homeowners
