uhm, I think, I did get you right ;-) Christ Gordon - maybe just because, for me it's the same: nearly your age, I loved this song sooooo many years ago and I didn't hear it for such a long time - and: ha ha still in (teenager-)love!
It is truly a perfect pop single. I only thought about it for the first time in a decade and I am now listening to it 20 times in a row. Wowza. Shoulda been a huge hit.
A many more hundred songs plus deserve that even more. The 80s was full of them-including those that stuff on albums equally if not better than was picked as singles. A few had equally good B-sides.
@@zzzzxxxx341 Pot/Kettle - It took the Beatles and Stones with the British Invasion for you yanks to realise that there was this thing called 'The Blues' happening in your back garden ;)
i am slightly younger but i absolutely love the band. i used to live in kensington in liverpool as a student. great memories great music, that place has the vibes...
Michael Head - one of the most under-rated singer/songwriters OF ALL TIME!! If this group was around today doing this music they would be absolutely MASSIVE!! All that was good about Liverpool in the 80's - I still play their album's today - Michael please reform and get gigging! Fantastic! Now does anyone have "Limit" they could post and make an old ex-Scouse boy even more happy lol!! Thanks for sharing - in me element lah!!
All fountains songs remind me of driving around in my car , ray ban shades on flat top hair cut white tee shirt and faded levis . Fantastic times fantastic tunes fountains & Lloyd cole the coolest of cool
I absolutely love this song, and have thought about the Pale Fountains now and then since I heard this song in the 80s. I have never seen the entire video until now. Thank you for posting!
This was always on the chart show on Channel 4 - cracking video; nostalgia was big in the late 80s with 501s, James Dean and so on. I'm now feeling nostalgic about the nostalgia. But, all that aside, this song is league division one.
I've been listening to this song for years on comp cassettes and mix cds of my own creation for friends, but just realized that filling station in the video could be straight out of The Great Gatsby towards the end.
Absolute brilliant song and video, always loved the Fountains but this ones just awesome. I always put this on when im on computer and even got the wife singing along to it as well! Is that bird dancing sexy or what, i could watch her all night!!!!
This song makes me sad but at the same time gives me a lot of hope. Lost my bf/gf i loved her so much but she doesnt speak to me anymore. This song is helping me coping with that suffering. Its the goodbye song for me😢
Great song I would have thought this 1984-1985 song to be from the 1990s because of the title even though the sound could have been from the mid 1980s to mid 1990s. Great song. Never heard it before not even on internet radio.
@spikesification - Must have been watching the same tv program, Max Headroom was a must back then for non-top 20 RTR stuff! Saw this and hunted down the vinyl - still have it!
Geez I had almost forgotten this song (how could i:) Thanks so much for sharing this It brought back some cherished memories I took the liberty of sending this link to my high school buddy Michael in Germany (Michael hope you enjoyed it:)
@@kevinpayne5399 look her up,it's not her. The girl in the video is obviously mixed race whilst if you google Marina Van Rooy she is white and also younger than the girl in the video would be.
Saw this back in the day here in Canada on MuchMusic (like MTV but better) on their “indie” segment. I made sure I stayed awake to record it later (segments would repeat every 8 hours). I couldn’t find the single anywhere so I relied on that recorded video on VHS for years! Lol ✌️❤️🎶
60 now. Still alive and loving this tune. See u in 10.

50 yers old now but keep coming back to this classic.still 20 in my head.just don't look in the firkin mirror.

one of the best songwriters of his generation, commercial success or lack of it doesn't mean the talent is any the less

Loved this band. Played this LP over and over.

One of the best of the eighties. Still love it 40 years after.
Still awesome especially that guitar break.Ow!
Top tune! Michael Head is a master of songwriting 👍🏼🤟🏼
It is truly a perfect pop single. I only thought about it for the first time in a decade and I am now listening to it 20 times in a row. Wowza. Shoulda been a huge hit.
I finally understand why scousers have been banging on about Mick Head all these years. This song is a classic.
Loved this in the 80's and still good now.
Went to See The Pale Fountains last night in Liverpool. Absolutely brilliant. They did this twice.
love love love the 80's!!! real music!!!
One of my favourites from the most diverse decades of music 🎶
Just got back from the London gig at the Shepherds Bush Empire. In a word - genius. All the songs sounded as fresh as they did 20 years ago.
This deserved to be Number 1 on the UK Singles Charts for at least 4 weeks.
A many more hundred songs plus deserve that even more. The 80s was full of them-including those that stuff on albums equally if not better than was picked as singles. A few had equally good B-sides.
British didn't appreciate what they have before? Why????, we Americans loved their music since then.... Rock en rolling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my fave bands. Awesome song from the Pale Fountains🤘
There is no justice in the world of music, the Heads should have been massive!
Too true! "Eh la geeze that bike" love shack!
An absolute masterpiece
Congrats to Michael Head, after finally scoring a well deserved first Top 10 album with “Dear Scott” as a member of The Red Elastic Band!!!.
Michael Head. Legend.
Heard this for the first time on six music today can't believe I've never heard of this band before.
Hadn't heard this since the mid-80s,but played it 2 or 3 times here now.
Love that song !!! Nice memories !!!
wow what a great track! thank you so much for the post!
POSSIBLY THE MOST UNDERATED SONG EVER.TO ME ITS A CLASSIC
I've been looking for and trying to remember the name of this band forever. The best, could have been a lost Bunnymen track, ever!
This was always on the chart show on Channel 4 - cracking video; nostalgia was big in the late 80s with 501s, James Dean and so on. I'm now feeling nostalgic about the nostalgia. But, all that aside, this song is league division one.
Goosebumps!
Listened to this song so many times. Still makes me cry.
雨が上がった後の曇り空の下を疾走する感じですね。好きです。
Saw this video on a Canadian tv show called “Friday Night Video” in the mid-80s. Fell in love with the girl haha
this tune and "Shelter" from this album are both brilliant. This should have been a massive hit.
I've been listening to this song for years on comp cassettes and mix cds of my own creation for friends, but just realized that filling station in the video could be straight out of The Great Gatsby towards the end.
All these years and I've only just realised this is Michael Head. Makes perfect sense. Maybe his best song.

the 80's had a lot of great stuff, a lot of dodgy shit that somehow fooled people and some very, very good stuff like this...had the vinyl...
I love them¡. Memories that will never return!
One of the most underrated songs. Shouldve been a #1 hit.
