I Like How you play the French Horn with buttons, like the C major Scale. Although, The C sound you're playing sounds like the F sound, it's like it's from the piano.
Hi there! I just got my horn, and am having trouble with the trigger. It seems when I press down on the trigger it also pushes my third valve down as well. Am I triggering to hard, or is this a problem with my horn. Thanks for the videos!
Hi! That sounds like a problem with the horn. The trigger shouldn't be able to press down the third valve. Have you checked to see what it looks like from the backside when you press the trigger? You might be able to see what part is getting caught up. If not, you may have to take it to a repair shop.
Ian Watson Oh wow! You have to start on the low, low C? Honestly, I’d rather play an octave above than an octave below, lol. Just drop that jaw and imagine you’re playing a tuba when you try to hit that low note. Good luck!
I didn’t watch the whole video at first and when I went to check if I was on tune, my tuner said (what I thought was a C) was an F. I spent a good out of figuring this out 🤦♂️
Wait, it sounds higher than the notes in the f scale. So does that mean it's like the f scale, ignoring b, but it's higher. I need to know this for district band and it's in one if the keys I don't know, can you help me?
I’m a young kid 9 years old and learning the French horn and your videos are really helping me in developing the notes and how they sound
did i mention you were a god send?? BECUASE YOU ARE A GOD SEND
Oh wow! I'm glad my videos have been helpful! 😊
Thanks for the lifesaver! Helped me with a last-minute band assignment.

Joel Ortiz that is true. The Horn is the key of F so when you hear a C on the horn, it’s sounds a concert F.
Thank you, this was very helpful!
Rowan you’re welcome!

I play French horn
Its very funny, cause theyre requiring me to do an octave lower than where you started, and Im in 9th grade... So the struggle is real!

I'm trying to figure out if my horn is in F or Bflat - if I play a C on my horn and its an F on piano, does that mean my horn is in F?
Yes. Your horn is in F
@@jsquaredhorn oh thank you! I got so confused with singles and doubles and keys 😂 it's been a good 15 years since I've played.
@@christinaclark1042 😂 it definitely can be confusing, lol. Welcome back!
Maybe. C is open for B flat and for F. Isn’t it?
Would you tell, this particular french horn is pitch in which key and how the transposition goes?
Aliasgar Virdiwala the horn is in F and the C scale on the F horn is the same pitch as concert F.
@@jsquaredhorn Means that, if we play C (Of Middle Octave or C4) in french horn, then it would sound F(Middle Octave or F4)?
so f major on piano is c major on horn?
Duncan Cayenne-McCall that is correct!
@@jsquaredhorn thanks

Destiny Zeng yes. Our C scale is higher than the low octave of the F scale. In the C scale all the notes are natural. CDEFGABC.
THANK YOU !!!
