You’re welcome. I also was not familiar with this BZ jingle package until a friend gave it to me. I’m thankful to the people that ho keep passing me audio, so I can keep posting & sharing!

7:20 I hear just a hint of that talkbox/Sonovox/Vocoder sound here. I wonder if these jingles were done by PAMS (of Dallas, TX) who were later known for extensive use of that sound.

I could hear BZ in Brooklyn NY right between WINS 1010 and WMGM 1050.
    Thanks.

WBZ was started by Westinghouse in Springfield, but as the larger Boston market drew more listerners and on-air talent, Westinghouse added WBZA as a satellite station in Boston. By 1931 WBZ moved to Boston and WBZA shifted to Springfield as a synchronous operation, hence "WBZ + WBZA." WBZA was shut down in 1962 so Westinghouse could acquire WINS New York.

7:20 I didn't know JImmy Rodgers (#14) was on Roulette, the mob-front that also published "Dominic the Donkey" and most of Tommy James & The Shondells' releases. No wonder he died under suspicious circumstances.

R.I.P. Gary LaPIerre (who was a newsman at WBZ from 2964-2008, and from 1966-onward, was morning news anchorman)

Current radio managers would never allow such long jingles today. 3 seconds tops!

The days of the long jingles are long gone. I can remember in 1981 WABC New York had a one that was almost 30 seconds, that ran every hour!

That's because they're all lemmings. Drakey boy hadn't yet made anything longer than 3 seconds a 4-letter word. Once the Gospel According to Drake had been handed down from On High, variety in radio was all but jettisoned. If Drake said it, we do it. Never mind brains, the thinking has been done by the Apostle Bill Drake. And to think that KHJ was everybody's dream job. I don't think I'd want to work in a place where I was in a formatic straitjacket.
These jingles you're listening to could be looked at as theme songs, much like TV show themes. Can you imagine if TV producers put together themes that were only 3 seconds long? Thank goodness Drakey boy's influence only was as far as Top 40.
Now if we could just break out of that bullshit. As you can tell, I'm not one of those who thought Bill Drake's shit didn't stink.

This was back when radios job was to inform and entertain. Today's WBZ is just shoving as many commercials down your throat as they can. It's an embarrassment.
