An amazing finale to Blue's streaming career! A pleasure as always! (Hope Blue was joking about never streaming again. I'd miss Blue's war with the stream gremlins, and still hope Blue will one day be victorious!
What a delightfully chaotic stream this was. I'm excited for Blue and his book, once my paycheck comes in tomorrow I'll buy one. But I'm also excited to hear you read it out loud because your voice is perfect for it. Maybe Red might chime in for some dialogue parts? 👉👈
I'm gonna be honest: I pretty confidently parsed "Cue the snickering by the chorus" as a sex joke. Like, Actor: "[yadda yadda] reached its completion." Chorus: *immediately starts snickering because Ha Ha He Said Completion*
While I agree that Sir Orfeo is a very different (I wouldn't say bad, but you can if you want) telling of the same basic myth in a different setting (British Isles faeries and nobility instead of Greek gods and royalty), my favorite part about it is a bit of backstory. If I'm remembering correctly (please don't tell me I'm wrong, I want to have this one), in the early to mid 20th century there were a handful of extant versions in different dialects of Middle English (or Old English, but I'm pretty sure it was Middle). One Professor Jolkien Rolkien Rolkien Tolkien read them and decided that, based on textual/linguistic/historical/whatever other pieces of evidence, none of the extant versions were the original dialect. He proceeded to translate to another Middle English dialect and then after that translate it to modern English. Because he was just that much of a nerd. I do know for a fact that he has translations in Middle and modern English. Anyway, if you take it as its own story that bears a passing resemblance to the Greek myth (there are only like five stories anyway, why be a stickler for originality when that doesn't truly exist?), it's a 600-ish-line poem about a guy risking the wrath of the King of the Faeries to get his wife back. Also there's a Scottish band called Malinky that does their own take on the story in their song "King Orfeo" that I highly recommend. Rambling rant: done!
I think the message of my play through of this DLC is a phrase I found a day or two ago. "You can't write about your story, until you write your story" I don't know where I heard it, but it's been pulling me out of a funk. Funny timing with the DLC I think your's might be something similar.
"you can't write about your story until you write your story" you fool, I am utterly insane about the blorbos in my head even though I've never written a single word of their story
Why did you private the other one? You history revisionists you. I even liked it so when it went unlisted I could still find it but now it's gone forever. Sad:(
can confirm that is not the deciding factor. I just played two playthroughs with the default choices. The difference for me was that I went to the bar with Hermes when Eros appeared and then they didn't come with Orpheus when Medusa approached @@foxfire9320
@@foxfire9320 It's got nothing to do with that. It has to do with how the speed dating goes, and your specific dialogue choices with Hermes afterwards.
Couldn't watch till I'd had time to playthrough once myself. Annoyingly, Blue made a lot of the same choices I did, so I can't say how much it varies - there was some variation in the speed dating - I rejected both the future Mrs Derryn and moneypots and didn't get the chance to pick Fiji, ending in Orpheus having a tirade against the bell. My Grace was the mortal queen of the underworld, and still dating Freddie, so some of that conversation was different. Orpheus' big concert has the obvious variation in instrumentation but always ends in much the same way. Graces song has a very different start depending on whether she's the Muse or not, and which cards you get presented with in the graphics seems to depend on your choices. Blue and I both picked the Quest option though, which is the most obvious place to branch into different endings.
Is the singing a plot hole now? In the base game they explained the musical bit as being a literal magic power that muses have, but Grace isn't around.
Nope, it was shown in the Underworld that Orpheus, being history's greatest bard, has powers rivaling the Muses. He initiated his song in the base game, not Grace.
like rasmus said, Orpheus has a similar power to that of the muses. That explains how Something New (Grace and Orpheus' song) can change so drastically. Orpheus can sing along with grace (red version) or change it to how he feels. In fact, when Grace is not the muse, the first verse is completely different and she basically says "hey I need something to work with here, focus, oh there we go" since she can't control the song initially
Just played this, wanted to wait until I had to watch. Unfortunately, I didn't get to experience the "Continue from base game save file" version since I had originally uninstalled the game to save space, not knowing there would ever be more of it and not knowing that it didn't have cloud saving with Steam.
Your technical problems are about as weird as all the ones I have from time to time. There is no logical explanation and when you are out of ideas to fix it, suddenly, everything is back to normal.
Spoilers for the stream, I guess? There's something very poetic about the OSP crew getting the ending where Orpheus goes back to the underworld and then the last few minutes of the stream being them begging Streamlabs to let them end it XD

Stray gods is one of those games that really doesn't remotely interest me and I'll never play but I think its super cool that it exists and people get to make games like this.
"I would never incite chat to riot, but if they're just so passionate about it, what am I supposed to do?"
OSP once again informing me of a Stray Gods release before anyone else.
I agree Red, whoever lovingly rendered those pants onto that man, who clearly does not skip legday, is owed a great debt from humanity!
The beginning of this stream really had the energy from several years back Journey stream.
"Okay, we're live, I'm sorry for Everything that happened."

Interesting Orpheus already had an electric guitar in the first game - but had no idea about the modern world like ... electronics?
he probably only learns about new instruments, or electric versions of basic instruments
pretty relatable if you ask me
I think the guy with the Hanna-Barbera sound effects is wearing an ace ring :3
I noticed that too.

Blue's book is on Kickstarter! It won't be up for much longer, there's 15 hours left for the Kickstarter.😓
The length of the speed dating song varies amazingly depending on the choices made. I think I got it as short as 3 people.
Shoutout Austin Wintory for the fantastic music
Can we fundraise to get Blue a new computer? This all seemed to be his computer. I would love to see more Stray Gods streams.
It wouldn't be an OSP stream without some scuff 😅
missed the stream by 73 seconds, curse you batmam!

Eros? I’ve played twice now and met with Medusa in the bar both times!

I really hope they do a sequel where the muses come back to life.
