He did a Talk is Jericho a couple years ago or so where he talked about his journey after Killswitch. Really interesting to hear how he realized he was going through something mentally plus he needed to get healthier. A true self realization, and he's in a great place now

Regardless though he's still a legend and he's proven that he can still do some Blood Has Been Shed vocals with The Blade by Sion
I’m just happy that he seems happy these days. From what I know, he was at his darkest times during his last years with Killswitch Engage. It’s great to see he’s built himself back up after what he’s been through. Once his passion came back, he’s done amazing things in the last decade. Amazing features and started his own band. It’s just amazing.

Howard Jones has been on a roll lately! He goes from Simple Man, to The Blade, and now this?! Light The Torch will also be releasing their new album June 25th. It’s just awesome to see what Howard has done these past months.
This isn't anything impressive really considering what Howard can do with his clean singing. Simple man was a breath of fresh air and the Jared Dines stuff is way more promising than what Light the Torch have been doing lately. To be honest, this song proves the point that Howard remains a great singer who can spruce things up with his cleans, but the songs themselves fall behind compositionally. Revival was mostly boring and unimaginative and it looks like this new stuff will likely be very similar to that record.
Howard Jones is definitely my favorite voice ever. His vibrato is so powerful and his screams are just devastatingly great! But there’s more to it than that for me. I’ve connected with every song Howard is a part of on an emotional level. Something in Howard’s voice makes me so fucking happy😂 Maybe it’s the unique sound of his voice.
He does have a unique voice that nobody else has. That's what set KSE apart and made them so damn good with him. During the early 00's there were a dime-a-dozen metalcore bands who all had a generic sounding lead singer. And they were all bland sounding and you couldn't tell them apart from each other. *Nobody* sounds like Howard. Nobody!
I always feel bad for the rest of the band when I see all the comments being about Howard, but I gotta agree. He is definitely one of my favorite vocalists. His is voice is so good.
This is no suprise because the instrumentals are boring and forgettable. Howard is the torch that burns bright here, and that's pretty much all there is to this band.

Safety of Disbelief is a little bit like KSE Problem with most metalcore is that they overuse the screams/growls A few high notes is better than having the entire song be heavy. Think of our heartbeat and pulse I am not a KSE fan. I only listen to a few of their songs Bring Me the Horizon does a better job with Survival Horror when incorporating the more aggressive side of Metal

For me Howard's vocals here are better than on The Blade, which is a far more complex djenty style track. Howard's vocals have the room they need to stand out here which is exactly what everyone is praising. I'm pretty sure the band know that Howard is the main draw here, the songs are structured around him and his range and the fact that they work well as a band (they're also very good live btw) is exactly how they're killing it. It's a great song, people like it and they've written and recorded a new album during a pandemic, I could give less of a fuck that it's a simple riff.

My band Democratus opened for these in Bristol 2019. If I do nothing else in music. This fact will soothe my soul for the rest of my days. Howard is God. Revival is as important to me as The End Of Heartache. This track gives me the same smiles and I hope the rest of the album is just as joyous!

Every time I hear Howards voice It takes me back to my childhood and early teens. My first super heavy show was KSE and In Flames when I was 12 years old.... Here I am 13 years later at 25 years old and he’s still releasing fucking incredible music. I saw Light The Torch live right before covid happened , and after the gig I got to meet Howard , it was very quick because they were taking off on the bus, but he was super chill , and said thanks for coming out to the gig. Such a great memory. Can’t wait to see them live again!!! Great new song guys!!!
