Thanks for watching y'all! In other news, I put a song on Spotify! If you like the videos, give it listen :) open.spotify.com/track/4ce7NFfN4FDaAHipK2QNxt?si=NXmKJKZmQ5S2AYKYEl7PSA
I thoroughly enjoy all of your model railroad videos, and I just checked out your song and it's phenomenal, man. Love the lyrics, love the sound, love the feel. Followed you on Spotify. Keep it up man.
@Jordan Axtman their custom parts where you can remove the old door and drill holes to add a open door, I forgot which ho scale parts company sells those parts. But you can search up "open hatch doors ho scale parts"
This is the Best channel I follow for rail operations. And, now you have added environmental conditions and night time operations. Thank you for all the work that you and your father have done on your layout and for sharing with us all.
Amazing nighttime effects. Watch for rain and lightning across sky at 9:30 minutes. So realistic it's like you are actually there. You keep the camera angle down low where a person would see that view if he were actually there!
I've never seen such a fantastic HO layout or any other guage for that matter. The "Rain" blew me away. Yet, all of it did. "Motoring" the multiple locomotives to operate together is another great talent. I hope there'll be more videos. Many, many are very good. These jump to a much higher level!!!
This is the most realistic model train video I have ever seen! Everything from the narration, the positioning of the cameras and the actual HO trains were wonderful! Great job!
Absolutely incredible. You really have a wonderful ability to tell a story and create a mood and the realism in your layout speaks to your extremely deft modeling skills. I love watching your videos. Thank you and please keep them coming!
This is remarkable! Best model railroading operations video ever??? Perhaps. There should be some kind of awards for this level of quality. You're an inspiration to get back into the hobby
I like the dim twilight illumination and the camera at grade level. Also the way the train starts so slowly and gradually heightens the illusion the the engines are HEAVY HEAVY. An excellent and very realistic presentation with interesting and relevant narration.
Great video! This really inspired me to start working on a model railroad. It's not going to be ANYWHERE as good as yours, but your railroad has been a great source of inspiration and awe. Keep up the great work!
I'll bet you will be surprised at how good it will be as you take your time and apply all your skills (and learn new ones along the way)!!! Tom ... and Josh
You should definitely run Heritage Units and SD70ACE more often, it would make even cooler! It is so crazy how realistic this layout is, I will never get over how cool it looks. Great video and keep up the great work.
I just 'found' your channel today and I am so glad that I have. I'm in Uk and I haven't had much interest in the massive hardware that is normal in American trains, keeping to smaller layouts and themes. So it was like a fresh air to see what you have achieved with your outfit. For me the crowning had to be the thunderstorm, I honestly believed it was a real live set. The patience and attention to detail you show is a credit to you sir. Subbed.
Well, the video & layout is beyond exceptional. If the major magazines don't publish your models then they can go to hell. Very inspirational reminding me to have fun! Great upload, Thanks for the courage to show your work!
Josh you have blown me away just when I think you can't top a video you did it can not wait to see whats next. Guess your keeping up with the motto "Road of Innovations"
GREAT VIDEO AWESOME INFORMATION and THOUGHTS and COMMENTS THANK you FOR your VIDEO and your TIME HAVE a good day be safe and careful ENJOY your weather AWESOME good VIDEO very realistic LAYOUT you and your dad should be very proud on your LAYOUT very cool and realistic. You are very knowledgeable about the operations. I APPRECIATE you and your INFORMATION on your LAYOUT. THANK you FOR your VIDEO and your INFORMATION and COMMENTS I APPRECIATE you both THANK you AGAIN FOR your VIDEO and your TIME 👍👍👍👍👍😁🙂
I love the layout. I have always wanted to build one based on the area of my home in wnc. Would love to one day have a scaled down model of the csx yard in Erwin tn running along the clinchfield RR through ky and wv also
Nice Josh!! Night time operations on your layout prove that you and your Dad did a great job of laying track and turnouts!!! Also love that Southern caboose at the station!!!!
Great video as always! I love how your camera shots looks like your filming the real thing, especially when you add the graphic overlay and sounds. Always looking forward to your next video!
hi Josh, Great as usual. Thanks tons! Only comment, if its a rainy stormy night ... for the video couldn't spread a damp tissue on the station's platform just for a better visual effect? Enjoyed the ride! Cheers Richard
Wow! An awesome video that I've wanted to see for a while, and some great music! Really outstanding, greatly beat my expectations! 👏👏👏 I'm amazed at the lyrics, melody, and very professional quality.
Awesome effects and lighting. I would love to spend a few weeks weathering your structures. Not a critique, just an observation. Your song is excellent.
Fabulous presentation! Too many model videos have great modelling but the VIDEO (and AUDIO) part of it is not even an afterthought. Rock-solid camera w/scale eye-level angle, minimal shooting "off set" plus the real-train SFX all add to the realism. The software rain is an unusual & very nice touch as well (I assume it's not REAL rain - that would be poor judgment!). Good narration (not overdone - let the video "breathe") just adds some more quality. Well done!
You really make me want to get into the hobby!! I've always been a railroad nut and toyed with HO scales as a kid, but never really settled down long enough to start modelling. Once I move, I think I'll start a layout and work on it with my grandkids. :o)
Brand new to your channel. First and For most Awesome video!. 100 out of 10 if that's even possible lol. LOVE the quality, Sounds, lighting, and your narrating as well. Keep up the awesome work! You sir have gained a New subscriber!
I always enjoy your videos, dispite having to suspend belief a bit regarding the geography of that part of North Carolina. :) I'm modeling the same line, but the eastern end, between Morganton and Spencer/Salisbury in 1974, in N scale.
Your layout is so awesome 👍👍. I’m currently working on a n scale NS Sunbury line layout but I sadly don’t have room for a yard but I have a few industry’s for switching
Wow just wow!!! The sound editing along with your narration makes this video something worthy of tv or Netflix series! Great work I’m a super fan. I want to start on my layout which will prototype Charlotte NS & CSX mainlines.
Locos don't have working lights on the rear? Only noticed since they were reversing without cars and the dark. Cool video as always 👍I enjoyed the rain storm effects.
Awesome! My favorite model RR channel...you may have said in a previous post or this one & I missed it.. how exactly was the rain effect achieved? ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
What an amazing layout. The thunderstorm effect you added was really cool. You must have watched Kathy Millet's video about adding rain to videos. Love the layout. Loved the video. Stay well. -Wil 👍
My goodness, Josh! Always love coming back for more of your videos! They’re really good inspirations in the hobby! I enjoy seeing all these projects that a lot of us especially I never imagined that we’d see on layouts! Keep posting. Also, if you missed it, was wanting to know how you do the sound effects on the layout that you mentioned in the last video.
Thanks for watching y'all! In other news, I put a song on Spotify! If you like the videos, give it listen :)

I love all the lights on the power. Really looks realistic.
Thanks Jeff!
Yes, the extensive and very well-done lighting adds a whole new dimension to "nighttime" model railroading.
This is the Best channel I follow for rail operations. And, now you have added environmental conditions and night time operations.
Thank you for all the work that you and your father have done on your layout and for sharing with us all.
Vincent, thank you so much! That certainly means a lot. Thanks for watching! - Josh
when you show your non-train fan friend and he thinks it’s real. You are one of the most realistic looking modelers around. Good job mate!
Amazing nighttime effects. Watch for rain and lightning across sky at 9:30 minutes. So realistic it's like you are actually there. You keep the camera angle down low where a person would see that view if he were actually there!
This is nuts! The layout detail, the lights and signals, the extra sound effects, the post-production work. Amazing!
This hobby fosters great imaginations and fun!
Love to keep watching operations over and over...lol...and its all because of your time devoted to us...Thanks again
This is the most realistic model train video I have ever seen! Everything from the narration, the positioning of the cameras and the actual HO trains were wonderful! Great job!

The model railroad community here on youtube is pretty rad. I might have to get back into my ho scale
You have ho scale? Cool, what's a good place to get ho scale stuff
just keep them coming, I always look forward to you and your Dad's work!
This is remarkable! Best model railroading operations video ever??? Perhaps. There should be some kind of awards for this level of quality. You're an inspiration to get back into the hobby
Josh, thanks for the kind words! We definitely hope to encourage others in it, and are always happy to help!
HO.... I heard that N scale is nice,.. but you can't do yardwork with it.... Messing with N scale back in the day... I believe it.
Josh, excellent comment. Was going to write the same thing.
I like the dim twilight illumination and the camera at grade level. Also the way the train starts so slowly and gradually heightens the illusion the the engines are HEAVY HEAVY. An excellent and very realistic presentation with interesting and relevant narration.
Absolutely brilliant fantastic job amazingly so cool love it cheers KC Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺😎👍
Your attention to details is amazing.
I loved the rain. Night running and rain, it does not get any better than that!!
Thanks!! We agree!
Amazing realism! Your nighttime lighting effects are dramatic, especially the lightning.
Thank you!
As soon as I saw rain, I knew Josh took it to a whole other level. Those night time oops are awesome!!!
Thanks Matt!
Wow what I just watched was amazing I love this layout a lot! Thanks for sharing.
First I've seen a layout with lighting, love it plus nice to see a night scene for a change.
The realism on this layout is amazing especially the lightning
Oh ho I do like the effects. Not only a great layout but also always a pleasure to watch the videos you make. Very well done :)
Please do more of these! I really good representation of the prototype! Narration is also on point!
Awesome photography, very realistic.
Love the way the layout rolls around the room.
Great video! This really inspired me to start working on a model railroad. It's not going to be ANYWHERE as good as yours, but your railroad has been a great source of inspiration and awe. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Jonathan! Means a lot to both of us. If you ever need any help, don't hesitate to reach out! We're happy to help :)

Thanks! Working on a video now that has Southern 8099 in it! But I will keep that in mind for future videos :)
SD70ACEs and heritage units are overrated, i prefer the common power seen in most videos

Your rainy night, and night time lighting is OUTSTANDING!!!! Your videos get better and better all the time!
Thanks Ted!!
Awesome lightning parts and with the rain effects!
This channel is as good as it gets! This is not only realistic but also relaxing, inspiring and especially for me - educational.
Your videos never disappoint. I felt like I was right there trackside railfanning. Awesome video!!
Very thoroug your layout and perfect Holy Bible verse, congratulation!!
Josh you are just amazing at the things you think of and come up with. Thanks for sharing, I loved the thunder storm!!!
Well, the video & layout is beyond exceptional.
If the major magazines don't publish your models then they can go to hell.
Very inspirational reminding me to have fun! Great upload,
Thanks for the courage to show your work!
I found the lightning effect awesome
As I am watching this, a thunderstorm has moved into my area and has started raining.
Excellent video, incredible edits with the rain really makes the video pop!
Your layout is amazing, your videos top notch, and your sound editing and narrative is excelsior. Thanks Derek for sharing your many talents with us!
Very nice. Great looking visuals and realistic operations. Thanks for sharing. 🚂

I don't know how you do it but it gets better every time. The rain is crazy cool.
Man those trains crawl so nicely
Josh you have blown me away just when I think you can't top a video you did it can not wait to see whats next. Guess your keeping up with the motto "Road of Innovations"
Real loco sounds make it even better, keep up the work, NSmodeler24.

Thanks for noticing the small details! Getting the camera low definitely adds to the realism. - Josh
Everything is so perfect
You know that guy hanging around the station. You know, the one leaning on the post. He looks pretty shady. I wouldn't trust him. Just saying......
He asked me if he could borrow 5 bucks. I walked away.
If you see something, say something.... lol
Grady Cain no, leave the man alone, he just livin life 😂
i know why bro i asked him for a up big boy ho scale loco and he just be waitin there for me to get him the "stuff" lol XD
guys you should either let the guards keep an eye on him and his spray cans or quietly thank him for prettying up the freight wagons
hi Josh, Great as usual. Thanks tons!
Only comment, if its a rainy stormy night ... for the video couldn't spread a damp tissue on the station's platform just for a better visual effect?

Haha I guess you can't win them all. Thanks for the kind words Val! - Josh
Cool NS AC44C6M! Hopefully some company starts making those soon, along with the CSX CM44AC rebuilds.
Awesome effects and lighting. I would love to spend a few weeks weathering your structures. Not a critique, just an observation. Your song is excellent.
The realism is unbelievable.
Remember, it never rains on the railroad! Only liquid sunshine (moonshine?!!!) Nicely done, really enjoy your videos and layout.
I'm in awe! This was optimal!
Great work it takes a lot of work and good machinery to get the work done!
Wow! This is a top notch layout!

Got Dang! It was So realistic!!!
I wanna see 1024 leading a train!
Looks like an awesome locomotive!
Great video as always josh!
1024, doesn't have lights (yet), but as soon as it does, you can bet that it will!
You really make me want to get into the hobby!! I've always been a railroad nut and toyed with HO scales as a kid, but never really settled down long enough to start modelling. Once I move, I think I'll start a layout and work on it with my grandkids. :o)

I like how you modeled the open cab door on the AC44C6M!
This video is even more proof to me that this is the premier HO Scale layout on TH-cam, Awesome video Josh!
That means a lot. Thank you so much Lucas! - Josh
I always enjoy your videos, dispite having to suspend belief a bit regarding the geography of that part of North Carolina. :) I'm modeling the same line, but the eastern end, between Morganton and Spencer/Salisbury in 1974, in N scale.
I live right outside of Salisbury. Are you in the area as well?
Amazing really.... wish I was born good at modeling and had started my layout 20 years ago! 🤣🤣
Nicely done and I watched the DIB video about the grade very steep.
Your layout is so awesome 👍👍. I’m currently working on a n scale NS Sunbury line layout but I sadly don’t have room for a yard but I have a few industry’s for switching
A great line to model! Thanks! - Josh
Oh I railfan that line NICE!

FANTASTIC . . .
I plan on modeling the B-line for Norfolk southern. I hope to have as much detail on that layout as this one does.
Awesome vid with great narrative!!
That was pretty cool opp session and the background flash and lighting is fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more
Thanks Chris! The flash was just from the light on our DCC controllers! -Josh
Still cool.
Very good narrative as always!
Thank you Richard!

My man...this is quality work. Well done.
one of my fave layouts. the lighting is tremendous. if i'm not mistaken layout is for sale. i'll miss it.
The main layout, where this was filmed, is NOT for sale. The project layout is for sale.
Tom.
