A dealer told me that the "Premium Water Feature" (Plus & Select Trims) has a three tiered flow, which is what yours looks like. Your cabinet did not seem to be two-tone (Select Trim), So I assume you have the middle Trim 'Plus' of the A&7. The 'Standard Trim' comes with "standard lighting". Yours, if it is a 'Plus Trim' would have the 'Premium Lighting'. Sad to hear that the 'Premium Lighting' is underwhelming. I am looking at A6L or A7L, now I'll have to really look at what 'STANDARD Lighting' looks like if it will be more underwhelming than the 'Premium Lighting'. I'm told that the 'Select Trim' add lighting under each headrest. But as of Dec. 20, 2023, Select Trim is $2500 over Standard Trim, and the A7 Select is an additional $4300. I am not likely to spring for the Select Trim level. ;o) Another difference between Standard and the other two higher Trims is Standard Headrests & Premium headrests for the two higher models. I'm told that Std HR's are soft, so you cannot sit on them and have your legs dangle into the tub. ??? The Premium HR's are said to be hard (and wider), so you can sit on them. What the heck are those pallets - I don’t think that’s code as such and won’t be good for your tub to be sitting like that. Should be flat and even I believe. You have to remember the little thin layer of fiberglass is all that’s between you and that bottom piece. And if someone jumps around and stomps ie kids, or very heavy individuals your bottom ie of the hot tub could get distorted. I would make sure it’s level, where it’s sitting is even and flat. It tells you that in installation. You should be able to keep one for 20 years so I would get that hole filled in with leveled concrete up to where it needs to sit. Not busted up pallets that don’t even cover the entire hole. Serious… Didn’t the dealer install it. Sounds like they are bad! Didn’t take care of wiring or telling you that, and the surface putting it on. Gosh! It’s worth the extra $750-1,000 for them to install because then it’s not your fault if there is an issue. I wouldn’t touch it ie use it for even a few minutes until a qualified, license electrician had done their part and the dealer that sells it has their people or who they recommend install it, fills it, makes sure the water starts out right. And that they give you a written statement that’s of such and such date it’s okay to use it. Then it’s the buyer’s duty is to drain it every couple of months, and that you use the chemicals Bullfrog recommends, and their maintenance schedule carefully including winterizing. And the daily chemical tests. If you can afford it and if you are buying a premium hot tub like this and spending $15-18,000, you should be able to have the dealer have their people take care of major maintenance and there are a number of steps but also have a reputable pool company come out each week and after some big party where too many get in. That’s on you and folks can’t blame the hot tub if they don’t follow directions. Then you have done everything proper and used reputable people to handle the big things and a good pool cleaning company to do weekly cleaning getting all the debris out, chemical checks, etc each week along with the daily checks you will do and keep a log book on those. When drained don’t forget cleaning water lines, ie where the water sits and waxing as recommended to prevent the acrylic being ruined etc. don’t forget the head rest to and use what ever they recommend. Improper chemicals and pH will ruin the head rests and entire acrylic shell. If you don’t want to do as much to the shell make sure you buy a fiberglass pool or hot tub. Fiberglass can be ground down to make repairs, acrylic can not and unfortunately most tubs if not almost all including bullfrog don’t use fiberglass on the top portion of the tub just underneath on the skin. There is a how do we build our hot tub you can find to watch. You will see how thin it is that goes on that skin. I haven’t seen it in a while but it’s vacuumed down to a mold and afterwards a thin layer of fiberglass is sprayed on it, then make the holes for jets. They have much less holes, ie less chance for leaks but anything that goes wrong that isn’t easily gotten to, the insulations gets ripped out and rarely gets replaced. Make sure who you use, they replace insulation with exact kind used by bullfrog and fully replace. I have seen too many where they don’t. Those jet packs are for more than just being able to move them around, they help keep the lines underwater to stay warm and cut electricity costs running the tub and so they don’t have hundreds of lines running around in the tub and all potential leaks and all those extra holes cut in,the tub. Ames a big difference. All that said, I sure hope that quality control isn’t being lost at Bullfrog. Didn’t you get a qualified electrician to do the wiring?

We went with a Wind River hot tub. They are made for Colorado and built in Colorado! I like that they dont have the spray in foam to insulate that if there is a leak just gets all wet and hard to do maintenance, instead they insulate the box and the sides remove easily to fix if ever needed. Also the material the tub is made from is superior to others out there and wont crack.
Never heard of Wind River. I have to research that brand for possible vacation residence in Florida. I have a Hot Springs Full foamed Envoy in NYC. A must for the long cold miserable winters but would be a nightmare to fix a leak. A perimeter insulated tubs definitely makes sense in a warmer climate.
Hate to be a downer but......first tub A7D (ordered May 2023) had an air-lock that both the dealer nor I could fix. Bullfrog did step up and a second arrived last weekend 🎉(after 3 weeks). We fired it up Monday evening and it was shooting shredded black rubber through all of the jet-packs and the #1 pump / filter has very little water pressure. The dealer this time stepped up and sent a technician out to troubleshoot and repair, however, two new pump replaces later, nada. I have asked the dealer for a full-refund prior to taking any legal action. Let's see how Bullfrog steps-up and refunds the dealer. All in all, these are the deal breakers meaning pumps that do not work along with plugged up plumbing in two models but there is 5 other problems including lighting, jets, switches. for a $15,750 spa, come on. Quality control is sorely lacking at Bullfrog in the summer of 2023. Let's see if their customer service is better. Believe me I love the engineering but the execution in manufacturing and QC is lacking.
I just got a Bullfrog A7 select series.....with a 30% discount the dealer was offering, it was still $18,000. I have had it only 3 weeks as of July 2024 and repair tech has already spent over 5 hours doing repairs on it. wiring had to be redone; both buttons at rear of spa had to be replaced....pump 1 has horrible vibrational noise requiring an 0-ring adapter to be placed at the base of the jetpacks on that side of the spa.....water feature pump was bad; it got replaced and that one was also bad so a third pump will now need to be placed....I ordered speaker option with my spa but display panel had no music control; I can't hear the music over the vibration of pump 1 anyway.....interior and exterior lighting were not working properly. repair technician will have to come out 2 more times to get everything working properly. I have a feeling I am going to be plagued by repairs with this spa. The pumps have a 5 year warranty but the wiring only has a 1 year warranty. I wouldn't expect this many issues even with a used spa much less a brand new one. Bullfrog definitely needs to do a much much better job making certain everything is in proper working condition prior to products leaving their manufacturing plant. Here are a few positive points...the jetpacks are amazing!! The back massage from them is really good....a lot of pressure. The pressure can be adjusted by turning the bottom valve on each jetpack. The spa is esthetically pleasing....now that the lights have been repaired, I think the LED lights are a very nice feature at night. Water care is made simple with chlorine and mineral cartridges as well as a filter that are easily accessible behind one of the jetpacks. Bullfrog sent me a review request via email a few days ago. I did not give them a very good rating or review because of all the problems I have mentioned above. Hopefully, the repair technician will be able to get everything in proper working order and this will end up being a good spa. Time will tell.
That’s unreal. Bullfrog has always had great service and reputation of folks having them for 20-26 years without issues. I knew one person and they loved it. Sorry to hear quality control is an issue now. Maybe their older more reliable staff has all retired and they are left hiring these kids who couldn’t care less if your expensive pool works. But I do know from reading install instructions and maintenance etc there are things you shouldn’t do or you can do serious damage that can pretty much ruin the tub. Kinda like getting in a car that you know has a leak and not check the oil first before driving it and checking it always frequently each day and getting it fixed. People just want to jump in and not run chemical checks, don’t want to use the recommended chemicals because it costs more, etc. if you don’t want to take care and follow directions don’t buy an 15,000 hit tub. Buy a cheap $1500 that won’t last a year without pumps blowing out or you don’t want to properly winterize it and want to just get a new one each year.
There's something missing in this that I wanted to see, and that was your experience as an owner after using it for a year or more. All the reviews I have been finding about Bullfrog spas are bad. Leaks, broken or missing parts that are hard to get, not much power, etc. We wanted a hot tub but not the usual curvy, marbled spaceship-like look. Something more modern and sleek looking. That's when I first saw Bullfrog. But I can't be confident about investing with them after what I have found. I found Wellis Spas; they have a look close to Bullfrog. But according to all the reviews I've come across, the design and construction are top-notch. There are just fewer dealers up here in Canada.
Nice clean install... but going to be hell when you need to service it. Looks like there's no access without pulling it. Hopefully it will be trouble free for some time ;)
Thanks for the video. Just saw Bullfrog tubs at Costco last weekend; nearly pulled the trigger on an $11,000+ A6L. My next door neighbor got the guy to give it to her for $9,400! Needless to say, I would have been highly peeved to spend $2000 more for same unit. What is your experience with pricing? Now it feels like buying a car…
I've had an A8 for a few months. Love it. I had the LED interior light setting to rotate colors for a while but can't get it back to that setting. Any ideas or how to get that setting back?
Can you make a short video just showing all jet packs full blast so I can see what that looks like? Considering an R7L, don't need that many seats since we're a family of 3, but I want to see what the tub looks like with everything going full tilt. Good to hear your input. A salesperson in another vid claimed that the jetpacks were weak and had no purpose but I appreciate your view. Customizing a favorite seat seems like a huge plus. Are they adjustable in any way besides high / low strength ? and how deep is the tub ? for winter I prefer 36" or better
I think I saw that same review, that guy is a sundance dealer from Atlanta watched it a couple of times he never said anything bad except weak jetpacks and he would never move them. To me that's almost a recommendation from a competetitor
I have an A6L and I love it. What this video fails to mention are some of the best reasons to get a Bullfrog spa: 1. Modular jet packs. Easily replaceable should one fail or if you just want a different jet configuration 2. 90% less tubing than a traditional hot tub so way less possibility for leaks or repairs. 3. Has snap in cartridges for minerals and chlorine and uses 75% less chlorine than traditional hot tubs 4. Frame is some sort of super strong molded plastic. So no wood or metal to rust or rot. I've had mine operational for about 2 months and really like it. Each jet pack is highly customizable by whoever is sitting in that particular seat. Being able to control each side of tub is great too as it has dual pumps. Overall I'd recommend!!

It has a really nice enclosed frame no bugs, no worry about rot or bugs. See the bullfrog website and read the manual and installation directions even if you are getting someone else installing so you know if they are doing it as recommended.
word of advice I would unsink that tube out of your deck it makes it very cost-prohibitive to work on and you will have to work on it in time guaranteed
There is a large opening underneath. I've already had people under there to work on it. Plus we left straps there for a crane to easily lift it out if ever needed.

You have a warranty, replace the hot tub

How long does it take to get from 94 up to 102?
That depends on a lot of things, including how cold it is outside. But it does a very good job heating up compared to other hot tubs I've been in.
My A6L increases 4-5 degrees an hour

No on the foam.
It has a really nice enclosed frame no bugs, no worry about rot or bugs. See the bullfrog website and read the manual and installation directions even if you are getting someone else installing so you know if they are doing it as recommended.

word of advice I would unsink that tube out of your deck it makes it very cost-prohibitive to work on and you will have to work on it in time guaranteed
It can be reached from underneath to repair. If it needs to be removed we install straps underneath it that can be used by a crane to lift it out.
lol nobody is going to repair that for you under the deck unless you pay them a shit load money. good luck
There is a large opening underneath. I've already had people under there to work on it. Plus we left straps there for a crane to easily lift it out if ever needed.
