I just happened upon your channel. I’ve been doing this since the early 70’s. You’re teaching this generation to cook smarter not harder. I’ve always pre-planned and did inventory for my family. Thank you for your video
Wow! You are a true expert, that's for sure! It obviously works; as you've demonstrated in having done it for over nearly 40 years! I would love to see your video too! I'm sure you can show us how to do it with, not just one hand, but blindfolded too!
This isn't an exaggeration when I say this video is literally LIFE CHANGING. I was struggling to eat due to the need for quick and easy but the high cost that comes along with it. You outdone yourself ladies ❤️👍
Random tip: For getting the air out of the bags, specially with items that are frozen already and hard to get flat enough to get air out of the bag. Get a big bowl [ or fill up a clean sink full ]of cold water and submerge your bag in it up to the seal, making sure to not get water into the bag. It pushes all the air out, and you can seal it right up with almost no air at all in the bag. Hope it helps!! Loved seeing what food you came up with and am curious to check out more of your videos!
I don't have a bowl big enough, so I take a straw and close the bag around the straw and suck in until the bag is tight, pinch the opening as you pull the straw out and seal it quickly.
Discovered your channel over the summer and so I'd started mass making freezer meals for a "just in case I don't feel like cooking" moment. A few months later, my husband lost his job. He was out of work for three months. I'd thaw a meal at night and during the next day while i was at work, my husband would throw the meal into the slow cooker and id come home to a great meal. This really helped budget-wise as i'd already purchased and prepared the ingredients for full meals! Really a game changer! Spending my morning making a few more meals. Thank you for introducing me to this!!
I'm sorry for the turn of events at your house but I'm so glad you had freezer meals! They are truly budget-friendly and there is some security knowing that you have a fall back plan, even for a short time. I wish your husband luck in his job search! Keep on hitting those sales and making meals. Freezer meals for the win!
@@FreezerMeals101 Oh, he's started working again! I wasn't too worried about him, just happy ro have had this as a back up help in the meantime! Thank you for your kindness!
Now that you have experienced the benefit, do yourself a favor...when you feel like cooking dinner (or when something you like goes on sale) make 2 batches...one for dinner and one preped for the freezer for another day... 26 freezer meals can be rotated through in 6 months using 1 prepped meal a week! 52 for 2 meals a week... customized to your needs...Duplicate to your family's likes
Just came across your channel. I've been doing freezer meals for several years. Im now 77 years old and don't always feel like making a meal. It's just the two of us, so when I freeze meals, I divide it up into single portions. That way, if one of us wants one kind of dinner and the other wants a different kind, then it is a win-win. Thank you for teaching this to new cooks.
It's really a great way to do it, isn't it? My mom did it too, when it was just her and my dad. Mostly freezing leftovers, but it was still nice to have. Now I take individual meals to her because she doesn't always feel like cooking (she's in her 80s). Thanks for watching!
I found this on the internet, (of course) and I thought it quite apt. "Who knew that the hardest part of being an adult is figuring out what to cook for dinner, every single night, for the rest of your life." You guys have just proved this WRONG!!
I will NEVER not have freezer meals. They are just a way of life now. I can't go back to the way I lived before! It also means that we have to live next door to each other for the rest of our lives and I think we've both come to accept that. lol Thanks for the laugh!
Using your freezer meals has been life changing. I have a large family and they are picky! I also work evening shift. Having freezer meals on hand has helped my husband and I be less stressed over what the family will eat. I love not having to cook/meal prep when I’m tired from work. I also LOVE that I cook and prep over the course of just a day or two. Thank you for providing this service!
I can’t believe you ladies ONLY have 26.6K subscribers!! I am honestly floored to see that. Y’all have such good content. Y’all should Post about the money savings…. Many people are struggling to afford their own food these days. I think it would be very helpful if y’all did a money saving tip video. Also, you can look up what type of food videos people are searching for in TH-cam and then plan your videos around that and just add those key words into your video description. That also helps your algorithm.
Thank you! We do have some videos specific to budget meals (th-cam.com/play/PL0HOtnw6h2BljvfnkBwWiDfVcnZtubo4v.html). We do hope that TH-cam starts recommending our videos to more people because we really do want to spread the word and be able to help more people to save money and take the stress out of mealtime. Appreciate your kind words.
I raised my kids on bulk cooking, even had my partner on board once he saw how easy it was. Literally go to freezer turn ctock pot or oven low, go to work, remove, feed 4 ankle biters, go to brownies, guides, scouts, swimming, soccer ect, .... Once ever 2 or 3 months use a weekend to rinse and repeat. My daughters and sons still do the same thing but on a 2 person per home scale
@@johnnyace1300 and I'm by myself now. Last one graduated with masters and gone to government job BUT I'm still bulk cooking for one and make my own home made TV dinners. Nothing like working a 60 hour week and standing in front of freezer with the final decision of the day of what TV dinner to nuke 😄
Oh I feel the similarity! Wow, I never thought about doing home made dinners though, so you do starch vegetable and protein and separate it out into one microwaveable item?! @@MM-ss1sr
I just love watching you 2! Freezer meals definitely changed my life and I'm now making a bunch for a family member whose about to have her first baby. Best baby shower gift ever!
You are SO right! I (Christie) have a friend whose husband is going through chemo treatments right now. She still has to run her house, while tending to him. Dropping off some meals is a great way to show love and to care for others. I'm so glad I can do that for my friends.
"Don'tcha wish your freezer looked like mine" Instant sub here based on that line LOL. I have never tried making freezer meals but, circumstances keep arising and are just continuing to get more frequent so I figured why not take a look and see what you've got. I was gonna subscribe anyway but I did laugh and hit subscribe when she said that. Ya'll are very detail-oriented but not crazy with it, I really like that!
I'm so glad I found you. In fact, I didn't know that others did the same thing as me with food in the freezer. My friends think I'm silly but I call it Kon-Mari freezing. My zipper freezer bags stand flat vertically like books in 2 layers. The bags with labels on are put in randomly but numbered from 1 upwards with a pen, so that you know where to look for number 29 in the rows. I print an extra set of labels kept in a binder, with the same numbers. When I plan the week's food every Sunday, I start with the binder. I can easily see what is left, find the food in the remote freezer and move it to the daily freezer, remove the label from the binder and put it on a weekly schedule on paper so that everyone can see what is on the menu every day. Then it's super easy to make a shopping list with the fresh things I need this week. PS: I also put a time stamp on each label, because sometimes I refill the freezer with smaller quantities. Then it is easier to use the oldest first. It works for me. And yes, I actually have a fixed day at the end of each week called Leftovers, because there is usually plenty. It's always a fun day with a buffet of smaller amounts of food mixed together. Respect for doing such a great job to make cooking easier for others.
Ok this is taking organization to a whole new level! 😍 I'm super-impressed! Are you in our Facebook group? I'd love it if you could pop by and show us pictures. "KonMari freezing" cracked me up. You're totally right! Keep up the great work!
I really enjoy these videos!❤ I know yall put in a lot of work, if I could ask if yall could consider to time stamp the recipes? That way they will be easier for us to find when we go back to make it, rather than jumping around skipping the video looking forever lol. Thanks for all the work yall do!
OMG Ladies!! Whew! That was so worth the wait! So many great new meals and so many fantastic FM Tips! I don't know where to start my praises! Though we don't all have "helpers" in the kitchen, we also don't have to video record a presentable show for anyone either. I'm sure this would go a heck of a lot faster if they didn't have to worry about Cameras and lighting and batteries (oh my). Then all of the editing later. I would guestimate about half of your time is taken away by Video planning, arranging and shooting. Thank you both so much for the tremendous effort on both of your parts! And a salute to all of your behind the scenes hard working helpers! I think this might be my fav session! Great job!
Thank you so much!!! That is high praise. It really does take so much longer now that we're filming and trying to think of what to include that will be the most helpful and enable people to do this themselves at home. And the editing... these marathons turn into an editing marathon! But reading lovely comments like yours and hearing how this is helping others really does make it so worth it.
I am starting my second year of the Club. My husband and I are in the older years so I love the option of making only 2 servings. I also make the re ipes for 4 sometimes, then divide them into 2 packages for the freezer. I have looked at other clubs and subscriptions, but, in my opinion, this is the best and worth every penny! 😊😊😊
You both are SUCH a blessing to my family!! You are so sweet and so fun to watch. We all wish we had neighbors like you. Thank you SO much for all your hard work and instruction. This has changed the way I cook. We are empty nesters so it’s just the hubster and I. It’s so easy to adapt and make your recipes work. I have MS and live in Texas so the sweltering summer heat is my kryptonite. Some days it’s hard to get up and get the wheels going! Knowing I have meals already done and ready to go has sometimes meant that little bit that keeps me from having a sobfest in the corner lol. It takes away the overwhelming feeling that I just cannot do one more thing in my day. So, you have truly changed my life for the better. Thank you!!! 🥹❤️
Michelle, you have no idea what it means to hear that. We so want to help people and it's exactly that overwhelming feeling that we want to take away. I'm so, so glad that this is helping your family. And I don't know if you can hear it all the way down in Texas, but we are up here in Canada cheering you on! I'm so impressed with your tenacity and grit.
Holy mother of God.... This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Thank you for the grams (Aussie!). Have been thinking to do more bulk prep rather than daily cook (or the odd left overs meals). You are both such an inspiration! Thank you. Congrats on the massive effort and bonus smashed record. 🎉
I dont meal prep or plan or have meals already prepared but this is what im planning to change. I am going back to school, i homeschool and plan on looking for wfh part time in fall. My youngest is only a few weeks old and I am doing everything that will start to make my life easier. Thank you for the videos!
Wow! You have so much on your plate! Having freezer meals would help so much. We are here to answer any questions you have and cheer you on as you get started.
@FreezerMeals101 thanks! The videos have excellent explanations and instructions. I will give it a shot next week. Our power was out for 4days so I threw my whole fridge away
I did freezer meals once when I was pregnant for after baby was born. And it really was quite helpful, although I did all crockpot meals and I wouldn’t want only crockpot meals again. I just haven’t had the freezer space to do it now. I just have the top of the fridge freezer, and it’s always got stuff in it I just don’t have room. And I’d rather have a buddy to do it with, when I did it previously some of my siblings came to help me, if I did it now it’d be a solo mission, and I have a lot more back pain and so forth now lol.
Working with a friend makes it so much easier! And way more fun. If you want to try again, can I suggest to split it up so that you do your prep one day and the assembly the next? It will be much easier on your back and feet. Good luck! Can I recommend our Sheet Pan Cooking Class? It comes with a PDF of five recipes, including an ingredients list, prep list and printable labels. You can double it and make 10 meals for and they can all be cooked in the oven on a sheet pan. It couldn't be easier. freezermeals101.com/freezer-to-sheet-pan-cooking-class/ And the best part is that it's free. :)

Puree vegetables to add to sauces, casseroles, etc. I learned to puree cream of mushroom soup, sliced mushrooms in any recipe I used them in. Same for green peppers and onions.
I just renewed my club membership and I was thrilled to know I have this at my fingertips. I love the red sauce! I have canned this several times, I can it in pints as we are a home of two….but I tell you everyone loves it… my oldest gets 12 jars to take to Chicago a couple times a year. It’s great to have on the shelf beside spaghetti sauce. I do make our meals in smaller portions for fit our family. I’m looking forward to the new recipes
"Don't drink and freezer meal!" I laughed out loud. You both bring so much joy - thanks for sharing your honesty and wisdom! I've been watching for a long time, but finally getting convinced to join the club so I don't have to build my own grocery/prep lists anymore. :)
Awww! 'Kathy's Lazy Roulander' That's so nice of you both thinking of your friend Kathy, that really touched my heart ♥ You ladys really know how to make a gal feel special! 🥰 So glad she recovered and is doing well. I live in London, England btw. Many of your ingredients are inaccessible to me, so I have to Google for alternatives.
Your freezer is awesome. I wish I had one just like that. My son and his wife had been looking to buy a house since last fall. My son makes good money but he wanted a large house on an acreage just out of town close to Sherwood Park. Over the long period of time they looked at over 300 house listing online and went to see about 25 of those homes. He finally found one that met and exceeded their requirements. Fortunately he checked out several lending institutions for the best mortgage rate he could get and was able to lock in a very low interest rate before interest rates went way up. The beautiful place he got turns out to be about 10 minutes to town and shopping centers (and our house) that would be at least 20-30 minutes closer to his work, an extra bonus. The house they bought wouldn't be available until the middle of July. In the meantime he's been working a lot of late overtime hours, he says to renovate some things they want to change on the house. When we we found out that our son has not been eating properly and just missing meals because hes to tire to think of something to make and hehas been working 14 hour days plus 1 hr long drive time home and another 45 minutes in the morning, with only 2 days off every 3rd week, the fact he wasn't eating properly really bothered us both. He often just grabbed something from drive-thru and sometimes doesn't even eat because they both are too busy to get groceries. He gets home and if there's something easy to heat and eat, he'll eat otherwise just and go right to bed. When we heard this we were appalled and decided to try and super-sized some of his favorite dishes. I ended up using my on the counter huge plug in turkey roaster and cooked up things like chili, beef stew, sweet and sour ribs. We are on old age pensions so meat is becoming difficult to buy, so we made a deal that I'd buy what we needed, prep (takes forever) and cook up a huge roaster full making him up a lot of meals. The 1st time I cooked up about approximately 30 servings, I divided it up using all our freezer containers. A lot were healthy sized single serve so either of them could take it to work but some were double sized meals for 2. We encountered 4 big problems. The 1st was trying to make room in our freezer for all the containers, 2nd once later spring rolls around we no longer can just leave fridge stuff just set on top of our freezer in the attached garage, an easy step out of the house door and the freezer is just next to the steps down, so perfect height for setting thing on. Our garage is insulated but not heated so stays about fridge temperature for a large portion in fall/winter/spring. Its perfect for an additional fridge if theres a reasonable temperatures out but once it gets to below about -20 it starts to turn into a freezer. It then means I no longer have that extra "fridge" space for large items and things. The 3rd problem encountered was we used up all our freezer containers so was stuck until I decided to use zip lock bags. They take up a lot less room that way. And the last problem is, we often finish cooking such large amounts late in the evening and too tired to portion it out, and with no extra "fridge" to put the huge roasting pan, I wasn't happy think I'd have to stay up a couple hours after midnight packaging. I solved by turning the roaster pan as low as it would go, about 160 to 180 but the chunks of meat turned out a little weird kind of with a falling apart. The deal is our son pays for the ingredients and we get some good meals using a lot of meat, he gets meals we know he used to love when he was growing up and missing.
Oh my goodness! You have gone to great lengths to care for him! I'm sure he appreciates it. I'm so glad you figured out some solutions with your fridge/freezer set up. Hopefully when he gets settled in the new place, he can add a freezer and you can keep going. It sounds like it'll be a good spot for him all around! Thanks so much for watching! ❤️
I have this week to literally prep at least a few weeks of meals. I'm hoping next week to do the same and keep going from there. I definitely enjoy watching these videos over and over. I'm not planning my HUGE prep yet, but that's because my deep freezer broke so we have to repair that first. But...I'm so excited to try some new meals!
Thank you for all the recipes, I make meals to freeze dry and it's so nice to have new ideas - all of these will make wonderful freeze dried meals to eat while we're on road trips.
That's so neat! Tell me everything! Do you use a dehydrator? I just realized this week that my air fryer has a dehydrator setting, so I have been thinking about what I can use it for.
@@FreezerMeals101- freeze drying is different from dehydrating. Freeze drying REMOVES all the moisture and makes food shelf stable. Dehydrating actually cook it a bit (think jerky and floppy mango slices). Check out Acre Homestead - she has a freeze drying playlist! 😊. Oh! AND I’m a new subscriber!
I feel rich when I look at all my meals in the freezer. I do not have a great memory so I made an inventory and then just went crazy. LOL I also inventoried the cheeses in my fridge (no more green Swiss cheese because I forgot it was there). I counted every package of meat in that drawer and another for produce in that drawer. I wasn't done yet...I also made a list of breads and rolls and last but not least is a separate inventory for my pantry. I'm sure some of you can relate to buying something and getting home to find you already had it. Thank you for getting me started saving money on good food!!
Oh my goodness! You'll be so organized, you won't know what to do with your free time. FYI - you can freeze cheese! If you're just going to shred it or cook with it anyway, go right ahead. It gets a bit crumbly, so I wouldn't recommend it for using on sandwiches, but I'm sure some people do.
I respect you two so much. But can I just say that are so darling and I love that you think and present together. I also happened into your channel. TY for this lovely podcast! Your flat stacking freezer system is genius!!
Well thanks so much! That's lovely to hear. We really love feeding our families this way. It's life-changing. Glad you found us! See you again soon. :)
I'm watching again. I don't have TV so as I'm cleaning, cooking, organizing, I am watching You Tube. Love these recipes and all the fun you ladies have. I need to move to Canada, closer to you!
I love your recipes so much! You 2 are so sweet! I freeze my bags flat, then line them up like record albums, labels at the bottom for a quick look through.
I just found your channel! Now that I have a decent freezer (just bought a brand new fridge on Sunday!) I'm so excited to get meals in the freezer. I'm retired so I have time to cook everyday but let's get real who really wants to? Lol my hubs still works. His schedule is 2pm to 10pm sometimes even as late as midnight. So the last thing I want to do is cook full meals every morning. I'll probably cook once a week instead of like 3 months or so at a time but it will still be such a game changer! Thank you for a great channel 💚 I also went over and joined your FB group 😁
I'm so glad you found us! Have a look at our channel, we have a few videos where we make meals for one or two. You may find some inspiration there! Happy cooking!
If anyone seeing this is related to anyone working for ziplock please hook these ladies up!! If I worked for ziplock I would be a super proud sponsor!! 💙 Great job ladies!
The best part about freezer meals IMO is that it doesn't feel like cooking every night when you can batch them up like this. It really takes the pressure off. Glad you found us!
Yes!!! I love this video!! I am interested in the carnivore/keto diet but people always complain about the “meal prep”. Even if I did a week of meals at a time for my husband and I to just get started, a keto-vore diet may just seem feasible. Thank you for the inspiration for me to take another step towards my goal!
I'm so glad you and your sister can do this together. It really is so much more fun to have someone to do it with. And you get faster each time so it's fun to watch the progression.
I used to do weekly meals one day a week but this is something I will do take all the meat from my freezer in the food saver bags it will make space for sure
One thing I do to ease the prep for me is when I get a sale on say ground beef…I pre cook most of it and put it in the freezer in ziplocks until I do my meals, I do this with chicken also. I will slice some, dice some and thin cut some. I freeze the chicken breast individually and then put in vacuumed sealed bags. It makes it easier for me to do a litter at a time as I don’t have a freezer meal friend and it’s just me marketing them
We do our meat separately as well. I cook it up and divide it up into bags. We get budget boxes of fruit and vegetables rejects so when we get those we look what we have and go from there, and do all the other ingredients in a separate bag from the meat. That way we can buy the veggies in bulk when we can and the meat in bulk when it's on sale. I also have chronic pain so it's better for me to do things in stages.
Does your freezer meal club have a way to find recipes that DONT have certain ingredients for like, allergies? I like a lot of your recipes but so many have common ingredients I just can’t have and it’s time consuming looking at ingredients individually to make sure it’s okay for me to have. Even in stores it take so long for me to shop because of that. Great videos by the way. Long time follower; really helped me change the way I eat. Changed my life once I realized my health problems disappear when I started cooking all my food and freezing it. Then pre-prepping frequently used ingredients like garlic, onion, peppers, chicken stock, etc. to save time for meals I do cook right then.
This was fun. Thank you! I love the variety of meals you prepared, and now can’t wait to try some new recipies. That auto shopping list program looks like a gem to have available. Living at least 1200 miles South of Canada (approximately 2000 km ) it was the first time I have seen hockey pucks in a freezer.😂
Did anyone else look at the thumbnail and thought these were clothes folded in a fridge or freezer? Or is it just me? I had a real good laugh about myself because of this and honestly, great idea for meal prep! I'ma try that out too.
I started making parts of meals. I have fallen off the wagon but i seem to enjoy batch cooking in the summer..weird i know 😂. But id love to see my freezer that full. Ive subscribed already. Ill be watching over the next few days.
Am I ever going to make these meals? Probably not (different country so different foods available), but I happily watched every second of this video! Loved that ye do this together and that you make both healthy and less healthy meals! Sometimes you just want stodgy comfort food and other days you want all the veggies you can get! First time watching but will definitely watch again
Thank you for watching! Where are you from? We have many subscribers from the UK, Aus, and South Africa. They can't always find the same ingredients, but they manage to make what they can. Stay tuned because we'll have a new mega session coming soon!
I'm really lucky my sweetie and I split the cooking and he does the grocery shopping I come up with the list. But I definitely definitely want to start more prepping and have freezer meals available cuz we're getting up there in years and cooking a four-course dinner is not on the top of my list at this point LOL
We don't but we're getting a lot of requests, so it's probably something we should look at. :) Thanks so much. It really is a game changer. I hope you can make freezer meals work for you!
I have been batch cooking for last few years, using plastic tubs to store the meals in two upright freezers. Your method of storing in BAGS just doubled capacity overnight, so thank you! 👏👏👏 Any tips of cleaning / reusing bags? 😮
You can buy reusable silicone freezer bags. We have tried many brands and haven't found ones we love yet but continue to be on the lookout. But yes, bags is totally the way to go to make the best use of your freezer space. Glad you found us. Thanks for watching!
@@FreezerMeals101 You're very welcome. I found you yesterday and subscribed. You have inspired me, last night I changed my online shop so think of me next Wednesday as I cook 2 month's of freezer meals for 1. Any advice?
Yes Todoist helps me keep my chaos organized. It is still chaos though. I know what we have, but finding it is a different story. Mine stacks are not as pretty as yours. My husband often stacks them in the garage freezer for me and they freeze in weird shapes. Also we have not got a plan to organize what is where. But I am better at spotting a meal than my husband. I told him to get Baked Italian chicken one day. He said we don't have a meal named that. I went out and brought it in the house 2 minutes later. 🤣 It does help being the person who prepped the meal and I know what color I'm looking for.
To store it in the fridge I would recommend putting the label of what food it is on the side that is showing when you open the fridge. in their case its the side and not the top. Its better to put the label there so that when you want to have some food you can just read out what is in the bags
I live in southern Arizona, ie: far from Canada, and had no idea what you were talking about regarding people keeping hockey pucks in their freezers. I googled it. Lol.
I absolutely love your videos, I have learned so many new recipes, thanks so much!! I do have a question, and I know it's a strange one, but I noticed your cabinet handles are all centered on your cabinet doors. I had never seen anything like this until I saw a video from RoseRed Homestead this week and then saw your videos! I've never seen this done! Does it make it harder to open your cabinets? What an odd design!
There are silicone resealable bags on Amazon and other various places. We haven't had luck with them yet as they say they're a gallon but they are on the small side. Plus the upfront expense is a bit prohibitive when you need 150 of them but I get what you meal. Other options would be to start collecting containers that will work in the freezer. Tupperware or something like that (not glass). Good luck!!
So, so good! We made two variations and they were both great. Really nice to have for BBQs or potlucks in the summer too. The only thing we will do differently for next time is split each recipe into two bags because we found it too large and if you have it in two bags, if it's for a large group of people, you could always pull out both bags.
Do you ever talk about the price? It’s interesting to me if you had a loose number. I know cooking in bulk makes things a little more affordable. And planning the meals with a friend would make it a little less as well (I imagine). Great video! Lots of helpful tips!
We don't really talk about cost. It's hard to be accurate because we don't always buy it at the time of our mega session. If there is a caselot sale that happens to fall on 15% off day at the grocery store, we stock up, but that might be a month or two before we use them. Also, we have a lot of things at Sharla's house already. Spices and condiments last a long time, so we just use what's in the house and we don't always have to buy them. Plus we don't show you the times when we are missing something or run out of something and I have to run home and get it or we have someone run to the grocery store for us. And the third thing is we're often buying "other" things while we're at the store. Good sale on pajamas at costco? In the cart they go! lol. Lastly, because we're Canadian and most of our viewers are American, the prices won't mean much. They would be aghast at the cost because we simply pay more here. I will tell you though, over the years, we have done spot checks and our grocery bills have been pretty even between the two of us. Thanks for watching!
@@FreezerMeals101 thanks for explaining your process. Part of the confusion is the Canadian dollar is worth less than the U.S. dollar, so it seems like things cost a lot more than they really do. For instance, currently $100 Canadian is about $75 USD, so if you say something was $200, it was actually equivalent to $150 USD, but it gives the impression that you spent a lot more than you did. It would be a pain to explain the difference all the time.
They are always in a sauce so I can't say for colour specifically, but they stay tender and mushroomy. Sharla hates canned mushrooms passionately because of the texture and she loves the mushrooms in the meals we've made, so I would say they get a pass! She's picky! 🤣
New sub here! I don't math. It's a different language for me. I always say this is what God made calculators for! You can check on your computer or your phone. There's places there that tell you all the quantities for tsp to Tabl, 1/3 cup for 6 recipes, etc. SO much easier on the brain!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your channel!!!!!
Excited to make some new meals. We’re down to 3 meals and need to get to it. Going to the farmers market tomorrow to pick up some fresh produce. We have all the meat. I feel for you Sharla. I have tears in both rotator cuffs but not bad enough for them to do surgery yet. Sleep is hard. Made it to the end with you girls and I am impressed.

Hallo from Denmark 🇩🇰🥰A good advice... Check if your labels fore the zip bags are freezer safe, mine did fall of... 🤨 It was geus a dish.. 😂😂😂 Great video 👍 Big hugs 🥰
Thanks for watching all the way in Denmark!! We've had good luck with our labels here. I don't know if you can get Avery labels in Denmark but they should stick really well. We usually use the store brand from our local office supply store and they stick very well too. However, if the label happens to fall off, I'm familiar with guess a dish! lol
Die hard here! What an amazing job, per usual. You guys crack me up. Wish I live I Canada so I could visit. Must say though, momma is a rock star. What would you do without her? Hope she took a stack home with her.
lol..still figuring out the club and I feel you..I binged on yall yesterday when I started my prep and some cooking..bless you all..Im doing it on my own..lol
I just happened upon your channel. I’ve been doing this since the early 70’s. You’re teaching this generation to cook smarter not harder. I’ve always pre-planned and did inventory for my family. Thank you for your video
You should start a channel to teach us what you know!
Wow! You are a true expert, that's for sure! It obviously works; as you've demonstrated in having done it for over nearly 40 years! I would love to see your video too! I'm sure you can show us how to do it with, not just one hand, but blindfolded too!
What are your favorite recipes for the freezer?

Hmmmmmm. That's a great idea!!
This isn't an exaggeration when I say this video is literally LIFE CHANGING. I was struggling to eat due to the need for quick and easy but the high cost that comes along with it.
You outdone yourself ladies ❤️👍
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!
I saw this before and was wondering the same exact thing!!! 😮
I completely forgot about doing that. Great reminder!
This also helps with any spillage on the bags themselves!
So thankful you had meals for such a season of life. Glad he’s back at it.
@ddean5656 I do! Yesterday we ate a meal prepped in May 2023 LOL
What a great idea! My husband & I don’t always want the same meal either. ❤
I found this on the internet, (of course) and I thought it quite apt.
"Who knew that the hardest part of being an adult is figuring out what to cook for dinner, every single night, for the rest of your life."
You guys have just proved this WRONG!!
I will NEVER not have freezer meals. They are just a way of life now. I can't go back to the way I lived before! It also means that we have to live next door to each other for the rest of our lives and I think we've both come to accept that. lol
Thanks for the laugh!
This makes our hearts so happy! This is the reason we do this!!!

That also helps your algorithm.

Yep! Freezer meals are a life saver! Thanks for watching!

You are SO right! I (Christie) have a friend whose husband is going through chemo treatments right now. She still has to run her house, while tending to him. Dropping off some meals is a great way to show love and to care for others. I'm so glad I can do that for my friends.
Yall are crazy. In the best way. Well done. I'm not up to the marathons but just triple or quadruple 1 recipe at a time.
That's a great way to start! And yes... there could be a bit of crazy going on here. lol Thanks for watching!
“detail-oriented but not crazy with it” is officially my favourite comment of the day! Thank you and we’re glad you found our channel.
You guys seem soo lovely, and so in sync as friends. It's nice to watch your banter :)
Thanks so much! 😊
OMG this is so random as I’m here prepping my Sunday prep for the rest of the week of recipes you two remind me of Laverne and Shirley. 😊
Oh man. I just know I'm Laverne! LOL (Christie here), although I've loved Cindy Williams since American Graffiti.
I'm so glad to hear it's working well for you!
Thanks so much! Try it. You'll love it. It's very addicting!
Good luck!

This is fascinating! AI, huh?
Puree vegetables to add to sauces, casseroles, etc. I learned to puree cream of mushroom soup, sliced mushrooms in any recipe I used them in. Same for green peppers and onions.
must be so nice to live next to your bestie! thank you for the recepies, its a life changer
It really is! And they really are!
How am I just now seeing this video??? This was so amazing. So many great recipes and I loved the q&a parts! Great job ladies!
I really like how you put the label on the bags so you know how to cook and what it is.
Labels were a lifesaver! We couldn't do this many meals without them.
I love it! That's such a great idea!
"Don't drink and freezer meal!" I laughed out loud. You both bring so much joy - thanks for sharing your honesty and wisdom! I've been watching for a long time, but finally getting convinced to join the club so I don't have to build my own grocery/prep lists anymore. :)
Thank you so much! Glad to hear we brought you a laugh today 😂
Made it to the end and this just made me so happy. :)
Lol oooh, I do wish my freezer looked like this. Enjoying the video. Can’t wait to try some of these!!
Love your chemistry! You two remind me of my best friend and I. Such great ideas, tips, and meals. Definitely subbing! Thank you ladies! ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
We are here cheering you on! You've got this.
I love this, I've only just started watching.
And I know things have got to change, but we all know you're reaching out to women and mothers.
It'll hopefully change. I think it is already. We get emails from a lot of dads too, thanking us, and that feels pretty great.
Come on up! ❤️🇨🇦
I love your recipes so much! You 2 are so sweet! I freeze my bags flat, then line them up like record albums, labels at the bottom for a quick look through.
a picture will be awesome, my labels always fly off when the meals are frozen
Found your channel yesterday July 14 2023. I also live in Canada. Your video is inspiring and FUN
Aw thanks! So glad you found us! Thanks for watching!

First time watching you. Something to help is to get anti fatigue mats to stand on. Fun to see friends do this together.
Thank you for the helpful suggestion!
If anyone seeing this is related to anyone working for ziplock please hook these ladies up!! If I worked for ziplock I would be a super proud sponsor!! 💙 Great job ladies!
This is so awesome that you guys did all this work to make it easier for everyone else. Thank you this is going to help me out soooo much
Our pleasure!
Karen here :) I hate cooking but I get so encouraged with different cooking channels! I literally just found you on here :)
You're welcome! We do have a few specific low carb/Keto videos if you're interested.
Wow what a beautiful gift to give away for free! God bless you sisters!!
Just joined the club and can’t wait to have a mega meal day with my sister!!!
I hope some day you have a freezer meal friend! It really makes it better!! In the meantime, this is a great way to capitalize on sales. Great job!
Some is better than none, done is better than perfect. ✨️
Merch: "Don't drink and freezer meal!" LOVE IT!
😂😂😂
This was fun. Thank you! I love the variety of meals you prepared, and now can’t wait to try some new recipies. That auto shopping list program looks like a gem to have available. Living at least 1200 miles South of Canada (approximately 2000 km ) it was the first time I have seen hockey pucks in a freezer.😂
First time watching. You two are so cute & fun to watch. Thank you for sharing❤
Thanks for watching!
We don’t like curry anything, but everything else sounds good! You put a lot into this project!
Thank you Deborah!
I would sort them based on the cooking method.
Did anyone else look at the thumbnail and thought these were clothes folded in a fridge or freezer? Or is it just me? I had a real good laugh about myself because of this and honestly, great idea for meal prep! I'ma try that out too.
🤣 You're not the first one!
I started making parts of meals. I have fallen off the wagon but i seem to enjoy batch cooking in the summer..weird i know 😂.
But id love to see my freezer that full. Ive subscribed already. Ill be watching over the next few days.
Thanks for watching!!
With all those extra mushrooms, you guys should have made your own cream of mushroom soup for the next batch of recipes. ❤
Next time!
I love what your doing great ideas for the food prep!!
@FreezerMeals101 Watching from Ireland! Might be able to get some stuff online or in specialist shops in Dublin but I got plenty of ideas!

I adore everything about your channel but ESPECIALLY the behind the scenes shots! Haha
Haha. That's good to know! We like giving a sneak peek of what it' really like.
I'm really lucky my sweetie and I split the cooking and he does the grocery shopping I come up with the list. But I definitely definitely want to start more prepping and have freezer meals available cuz we're getting up there in years and cooking a four-course dinner is not on the top of my list at this point LOL
I love that you do this as a team! It's so much easier that way.
I’m totally new to all of this! This is a life changer. It is going so fast. Do these women have a book?
We don't but we're getting a lot of requests, so it's probably something we should look at. :) Thanks so much. It really is a game changer. I hope you can make freezer meals work for you!
If your accents hadn’t already told me you’re Canadian, those hockey pucks sure did. 😂
🤣 yep!
I have been batch cooking for last few years, using plastic tubs to store the meals in two upright freezers. Your method of storing in BAGS just doubled capacity overnight, so thank you! 👏👏👏
Any tips of cleaning / reusing bags?

I call that using my "mom eyes!" 🤣
@@christieweins3312 👀🤣
This is really cool.
Tip:Instead of putting the stickers on the side, how about stick them on the bottom where you can actually see the name of them it works better.
😅
How to make homemade Stir roll?
To store it in the fridge I would recommend putting the label of what food it is on the side that is showing when you open the fridge. in their case its the side and not the top. Its better to put the label there so that when you want to have some food you can just read out what is in the bags
Some people definitely do this. It doesn't film as nicely when we put the label there, so we're ok with it in the middle. But that's a great tip!
I live in southern Arizona, ie: far from Canada, and had no idea what you were talking about regarding people keeping hockey pucks in their freezers. I googled it. Lol.
🤣 it's a thing! Did Google give you a good answer?
Yes, that the pucks don't bounce, and slide farther and more easily when frozen!
i love the q and a breaks
Do you ever use the plastic reusable pouches ?
We have, but we haven't found ones we are happy with so the hunt continues...
Loved watching this session...
I ran a lovely salt bath and relaxed for ages.
Felt your pain from standing😂😂😂
Well done🎉😊
Aw. I love that for you! And some soaking was definitely in order for us after all that!!
You are going to save me so much time and money. Thank you thank you thank you! This is so dope.
Awesome! Glad you found us.
Great ideas. However, although I love the see through ziploc bags, I am trying to eliminate plastic. Do you have any ideas for subsitutes?
There are silicone resealable bags on Amazon and other various places. We haven't had luck with them yet as they say they're a gallon but they are on the small side. Plus the upfront expense is a bit prohibitive when you need 150 of them but I get what you meal. Other options would be to start collecting containers that will work in the freezer. Tupperware or something like that (not glass). Good luck!!
Love your videos! Gave me a lot of ideas and inspiration. Just curious about the pasta salad. How did that turn out?
🍄🍄❓How do the mushrooms do in the freezer? Do they stay plump and white or turn brown? Thanks.
They are always in a sauce so I can't say for colour specifically, but they stay tender and mushroomy. Sharla hates canned mushrooms passionately because of the texture and she loves the mushrooms in the meals we've made, so I would say they get a pass! She's picky! 🤣
Needed this! I’m trying to plan better for my family!
Yesss!
Omg...😂 I just posted about watching my Canadian 'besties' and you totally just said it ❤
