I guess Soyeon literally telling the story through the MV sends the message home more, but ALLERGY as a song is technically doing the same trick: talking about something messed up in a hyper fun sounding song. Had TWICE did a MV similar, I think the lyrics would hit harder like ALLERGY's does (and not be missed us dumb international fan, lol ). Either way you gave me a lot to think abot. (Especially the lovelyz mention) i love the theory you mentioned about rv using the fruit as a way of interviewing different age stages of themselves (i would like to predict that the youngest fruit is strawberyy and the oldest is grape lol) A song i found to have a deep message within such a light hearted song is kiss later by loona/loossemble's yeojin. At first, i only took the song and mv at face value by thinking wow this fits yeojin's cute energy so so soooo well! I also loved the theatrics in it as i love the costuming and set design done for this mv. Then i look at the English lyrics and my mind was blown 🤯 i realized the song itself was talking about consent in a way that teenagers like yeojin at the time can understand in such a poetic way! One other song that made me sooo nostalgic was afterschool by weeekly! Especially when jihan sang that final chrous, girl there was literal tears in my eyes just cuz the group in that mv reminds me so much of my middle school and high school self at that point in time 💙
OK so despite having only 70% hearing ability on one ear right now due to sickness. You best believe I attempted listening to your video and omg I love this video topic genre so much. I would def love maybe one or two more videos on these types of songs. Even if it's maybe an alternative spin off as well. Dark-sounding songs that have a positive message or something idk. Thank you for keeping my spirits up whilst sitting out this illness.
