Sad that someone thought it was ok to sell copies of your charts without permission, but super grateful for the work you put into those. I have been using a copy I printed and taped to a tackle box last few trips. I feel much more confident estimating my depth knowing how you tested real world variables to get that data.
Not cool at all to be selling them. Thank you so much for making them available for our use. My wife and I have laminated copies in our kayaks and we’ve used the with much success trolling for trout. So nice to know how deep the gear is. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

I decided to try and support you and order one. Ordered two different ones back on May 12th and 14th. One arrived but took a really long time. Other one is lost to the ether. I don't know if it is standard to take around a month to print and ship, if others are experiencing that too you may want a new vendor to fulfill your orders.
The creator retains the copyright. Filing for copyright protection only increases the statutory fines which can be imposed. By having published the video explaining the chart and the way it can be used establishes the copyright beyond doubt.
As an original work fixed in a tangible medium (like paper), the depth cart automatically is copyrighted by the creator. There are no formal registration requirements unless or until you're going to sue. Unlike a patent or trademark, the right is created automatically upon recording the work on some kind of medium. To help prevent these problems, I suggest putting a copyright notice on the chart, so that others are notified that it is not freely usable and that it is not in the public domain. Something like "Copyright 2024 Tyler Hicks - All rights reserved." NOTE: this is just information for you to look into with legal counsel. It is not legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship.
