Maybe related: where you find Miquella's "arm sinistral" is in bellurat tower with a bunch of Man-flies. Lastly, i wonder if the "blood tainted excrement" is describing Miquella's infestation of the blood dynasty. "The bloody excrement of a carnivorous beast. Material used for crafting items. Found in the land of the new dynasty. Mixed inside with half-digested flesh are dense colonies of tiny eggs of unknown but assuredly revolting origin"
He only has 3. I think he lost one in his fight with ansbach. Also If you look closely, only one is opaque, the other two are translucent. The bottom two are his spirit arms but it’s totally a vitruvian man reference too.
Great video! Never thought about Miquella being a fly or having insect characteristics. It does make sense, as we find a cross of Miquella in Belurat surrounded by flies. The flies that are on the ground appear to have completed their metamorphosis and have turned into something new. It is also here where Miquella discards one of his arms. So ya maybe he did just shed one of his arms here and that's it, or maybe he did metamorphosize into a new form (the one he needs to be in to ascend to godhood).
Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man represents the "perfect man," based on the ancient knowledge of ratios and proportions present in human anatomy. It's a call back to this, since he is now a God (big G) he is "perfect" except he is not, so he is missing an arm. It also follows the lifecycle of some insects. Egg/Cocoon, Larval, Metamorphosis, Adult (Deity)
It's more likely that the Twin Empyreans inhibits an aspect of crucible pretty much like their brothers. Also the concepts of Metamorphosis are prevalent on the twins Malenia showing the bloom and butterfly, while Miquella showing the caterpillar and pupa. Also, upon stripping away his flesh and form, Miquella may favor and lean towards the Crucible for his Godhood to counter the Greater Will and Marika for his Age of Compassion.
Pretty sure it is representative of the vitruvian man. Two arms and legs touch the natural or earth. Then two arms and legs touch the divine or spiritual. The creator of the souls games likes to include alchemy in his games. Among all the other things he puts in from other anime’s and religions and such
Actually I have an easy awnser. On his path to rach God hood he needed to go through a pilgrimage in which he must discard portions of himself in both metaphorical and litteral sense. In the end he would enter the gate pure unlike his mother. Meaning much like rani he abandoned his physical form and when we see him he created a physical form to control during the fight, but his soul can't completely join the body as it is not the original. With ranni this shows through her face and with miquela it shows through his arms.
Always figured Ranni having 4 arms was a byproduct of her spirit inhabiting her doll. Like her spirit not aligning perfectly with the doll and therefore gives the appearance of 4 arns.
I really like your idea of Marika and Radagon each having two arms because it makes the 4 that would come from their apotheotic merging. Melina herself says Marika noted Radagon was at some time -- maybe all the way to present game -- not ready to become her or like her. So once Miquella reaches the gate of divinity he achieves wholeness that his mother did not, granting him 4 arms, yet his divesting of his left arm (and therefore metaphorically an aspect of what humanity he had) renders even his God form incomplete. And its thematically coherent that Rannis doll body has 4: it is not her physical body because she is not physically a god, but her way of thinking and unique perspective seems ultimately the closest to the apprehension a potential God might have over a free people, so the physical form her just self takes will evoke that. And that may be ultimately why Miquella will never be a whole God, because he would never let his people be wholly free -- something he has proven multiple times by the point you finally meet him. Great vid!
I think the 4 arms, with 1 set being spectral, represent only half of him being transcended to Godhood. But recreates his body to make himself known to the tarnished. In a similar vain to Ranni’s soul possessing the doll and having a spectral face. He has to intervene so he can complete the ascension, but has the kind of power to resurrects and heal his flesh. Going off of your theory that his flesh was afflicted by interfering with Godwyns body. As the body he used to make his trek was slowly disfigured and destroyed by the death blight affliction, perhaps he only recently acquired a means to completely heal any affliction?
maybe the insect wings depicted in the trailer 2 years ago was an indicator of metamorphosis and that he had to have completed this cycle to become a God
Yeah, I think it has to do with shedding your body for a spiritual presence, Ranni did it, four arms, Mellenia held onto her body as much as possible, so she retains most of it in her ascendancy, Miquella methodically sheds parts of himself and either is about to pass through the gates of divinity, or already has, but he has three. Miquella and Mellania, twin prodigies, both afflicted by curses from birth, one would rot, and the other would never be complete. I think it just boils down to that. Miquella was just.. incomplete, from the very beginning all the way up to near godhood, he would always be destined to stagnate, and she would always be destined to be remade into her own form of outer divinity. I wonder of the outer gods did so because they saw them as the biggest threat, they're by far the strongest bosses, keeping in mind that miquella can basically two-shot you right in the feels
Why is the arm that pokes out of the cocoon in the base game so long? I mean, look at that hand! It's a huge hand for someone supposed to be the eternal child.
@@Hitsugix some say it was a body that miquella was forming to be his consort and not actually miquella himself. Miquella was the figure in the tree we see that had the cocoon in its stomach. Idk I read that theory somewhere
Maybe he left a part of his arm somwhere else. I start to believe we here from him again. The more i think about miquellas doing and the words from St. Trina i get the feeling we get tricked/manipulated from different sides but all to lead us to same direction and action. Why we juat killed "A God and A Lord" did they lost they Names. And why can't we see to whom he is vowing , when the game try to make us believe we already know. By the way his second pair of arms are on his back where the wings was before. Rannis Body is a bit differnt here too. On the other hand on of his wings seems to be smaller as the other it is sadly hard to see on that picture. But this could lead also to a short full arm, what isnt the case here. Elden Ring : 10000 questions + DlC : 10000 more questions :D
More like 3 arms. For real if he had 4 arms it would've been understandable, but why does he have 3? 3 arms is like 3 fingers. What about the outer god of sleep and eternal sleep? We have god of blood, madness, rot and possibly frostbite(death). Yet sleep is godless?
There is another souls TH-camr, centered tarnished, who compares the arm placement of the four arms in leonardo da vinci's vitruvian man with Marika and Radagon's statues. You definitely seem on to something with Miquella missing his left arm and comparing that with Marika. And the insect wings
In the Hindu scriptures it's not uncommon for Asuras or Devas to display multi armed forms. In the Bagavad Gita, Krishna shows Arjuna his multi armed form and says "Time I am, the great destroyer, and I have come to destroy all worlds"
When we first played elden ring we were deceived by many things, from this perspective I think even Godrick was good as he fought Malenia and respected Radahn and Godfrey. Um and yeah we were also bad guys, we killed both Mohg and Radahn..
Or he simply have four arms because he have his spiritual arms and physicals arms like if godhood needs you to be in that state of spiritual and physical duality. And insects could be a curse inflicted by horsent experiments to mimic gods. In the base game and the dlc you have two character who achieve godhood with this form, and two civilisation who tried to reproduce "artificials" gods or lords with "cursed" experiments.
Just to remind everybody, and I'm sorry to do so, but revenants fuckin suck. Lol Edit: I dunno if those ARE wings. Look at his face, coming down across like hair is an even clearer "wing" draped over his face. Why would he have face wings? Also there is another "wing" underneath the one on his back. I think it's just a shape.
You said that miquella has 3 arms because that one missing arm was St. Trina, but there's a Cross stating miquella abandoned one of his arms and his love was St. Trina not his arm. And about his insect aspects can be associated with his time in the hallingtree in a coccon, and the art in the intro is not Canon.

@@PurgeEvilTV Sorry for the miss undestanding, I took what you said about St. Trina being miquella's as a fact, but it is an interesting theory how she is a part of him literally
@@PurgeEvilTV Oh thanks for showing this, It could be possible that miquella was forced to remove his arm in order to separate himself from St. Trina, and gained his other arms when he ascended in a way for the developers to show that he grew in power and for him to better anchor himself on radahn since he jumps all over the place
Thank you I don’t hear many people say that Renni was most likely a wraith caller this would explain why Ranni has a bell, similar to the wraith calling bell
Personally, I do not think we can trust the concept art. Miquella's body is much smaller and more disproportional in the Mohg art than he is in the memory we see when we pick up his Circlet. I think it is just not cohesive.
I really don't think there's anything weird between Micquella and Radahn. Micquella wants to be a God but necessary rule over common people and kingdom. He just want Radahn to be the next Elden Lord to rule over people on his behalf.
100%, there certainly isn't anything weird going on. It's just that a consort is technically a spouse so it's a little weird and people like to joke so much it's hard to tell if people are serious.
Godhood is Mind+Body+Soul/Spirit. Formless+Form with Spirit and Soul to bind them. There are three moons: Renalla's full moon, Ranni's dark moon and Renna's formless black moon (the missing outer god Black Moon mentioned in the Moon of Nokstella). Ranni is missing a body, so the arms are those of mind/formless and soul/spirit. Miquella is missing part of an arm as a result of Marika sacrificing one of her braids. He incorporated her soul, his own spirit, Mohg's body, and Radahn's mind.
Based on some of the mushroom theories by others like Ziostorm, I can’t help but think the current god of the Erdtree isn’t actually the Greater Will but instead some kind of Fungal outer god. Insects are associated with the god of rot and I think associated with the current god of the Erdtree/Haligtree. I think by becoming the vessel for this god, the vessel takes on insect like features. Marika being an expert of veiling can probably easily disguise her insect like features.
To be clear, 100% Ranni got 2 set of arms one of them being her soul "body" and other from the doll she possesed, she lost her body in night of black knives, if you want to see any similarity between ranni and miquela double set of arms then, in theory miquela had to perform same ritual to kill gods body.

Honestly I fully expected Miquellas godly form to possess big moth/buterfly like wings.
Gonna need those two extra arms to hold onto Radahn during the... Comet Azur trick they'll be trying later on... 😂
Because even after divesting himself of everything, he couldn't let go of arm day.
He only has 3. I think he lost one in his fight with ansbach. Also If you look closely, only one is opaque, the other two are translucent. The bottom two are his spirit arms but it’s totally a vitruvian man reference too.
I hate the fact that it’s prolly canon that Miquela is sleeping with radahn, his own damn brother
Bruh, he was in a cocoon, of course wings are going to sprout. Not that difficult to understand. Now, why did he do this? That's a better question.
It's more likely that the Twin Empyreans inhibits an aspect of crucible pretty much like their brothers.
Also the concepts of Metamorphosis are prevalent on the twins
Malenia showing the bloom and butterfly, while Miquella showing the caterpillar and pupa.
When Radahn is going rollercoaster he does need that extra grip
Broh
Great vid!
Love this write up. Thank you friend ⚔️
So, do you think miquella found the lost moon of noxstella? Is that why he has albeniurics on his team
Because he likes the piquella and wants to be sure he can give a great adult handshake. And Consort Rahdahn don't look like a little dude.
Great video!
Thank you ⚔
Yeah, I think it has to do with shedding your body for a spiritual presence, Ranni did it, four arms, Mellenia held onto her body as much as possible, so she retains most of it in her ascendancy, Miquella methodically sheds parts of himself and either is about to pass through the gates of divinity, or already has, but he has three.
Miquella was trying to ascend to godhood via his chrysalis and the snow witch would’ve been a maternal figure for rani
Isnt that Miquella had 4 hands but one of them got cutted off by Sir Ansbach?
I wanna know why Ranni could put Kale to sleep when you first meet her 🤔
How else is he supposed to touch on you all over?
Why is the arm that pokes out of the cocoon in the base game so long? I mean, look at that hand! It's a huge hand for someone supposed to be the eternal child.
@@Hitsugix some say it was a body that miquella was forming to be his consort and not actually miquella himself. Miquella was the figure in the tree we see that had the cocoon in its stomach. Idk I read that theory somewhere
To be a host for his consort not his actual consort
There is definitely an importance with the left arm and left eye the empyrean eye as his left arm does not come back when he enters godhood
What I wanna know is, if this is his new form after he already shed his body and all parts of himself, what happened to that missing arm?
More like 3 arms. For real if he had 4 arms it would've been understandable, but why does he have 3? 3 arms is like 3 fingers. What about the outer god of sleep and eternal sleep? We have god of blood, madness, rot and possibly frostbite(death). Yet sleep is godless?
more than fly wings, Miquella's wings in that image are more similar to nascent butterflies, no?
@@mukelson wow. They very much are
i feel like miquella and radahn were the most idealised aspects of marika and radagon. so when they were born or 'shed'...
There is another souls TH-camr, centered tarnished, who compares the arm placement of the four arms in leonardo da vinci's vitruvian man with Marika and Radagon's statues.
You definitely seem on to something with Miquella missing his left arm and comparing that with Marika. And the insect wings
Why do Miquella have 4 arms? Maybe it's ascension, maybe it's Maybelline.
Fantastic
So the finger crones also have 4 arms. All the bodies near marikas bed chamber also has 4 arms but they are also crones
i think knowing Fromsoft its more likely that we'll get another DLC than that it will us answers :laughcry:
Better hug
afflicted? more like blessed with a miracle.
Butterfly theory...
Nascent butterflies...
Cacoons...
Halig tree...
Moth...
You always got to beat up some damn moth spamming light/holy
Bravo, the first person addressing this up
Bro definitely caused manflies
In the Hindu scriptures it's not uncommon for Asuras or Devas to display multi armed forms. In the Bagavad Gita, Krishna shows Arjuna his multi armed form and says "Time I am, the great destroyer, and I have come to destroy all worlds"
She.
So she can give great handys
pretty sure miquella has three arms because ansbach cut it off
He doesn't have 4 arms. He has 3 and a sleeve...
Four hands four ……
@@cheese0069 ),,,,:
Lol
Edit: I dunno if those ARE wings. Look at his face, coming down across like hair is an even clearer "wing" draped over his face. Why would he have face wings? Also there is another "wing" underneath the one on his back. I think it's just a shape.
Why not ?
on e one of the cross it is stated that he severed his left arm tho
2 fingers + 3 fingers = 4 arms. Math checks out. Shocker
Wow. Shocker
My question was actually… why are his arms so long? 😂
@@itstimeforacrusadeparrythi9722 I didn’t state that as fact
I also stated the art was retconned
Reddit user Valemi_Bird did a write up on the missing arm theory and explains it way better than I can here!: www.reddit.com/r/EldenRingLoreTalk/comments/1e4170j/miquellas_arm_explained/
@@itstimeforacrusadeparrythi9722 no worries, I should’ve dived a bit deeper into it instead of glancing over it. Maybe I should make that a video 🤔
What inspired the doll's design then? 👀
Mohg
I wonder if Marika had 4 before radagon split off
This is how I feel like
There are statues of her having only 2 arms before shattering even began.
3.5 arms, actually
He sacrificed one arm it’s at one of his crosses
Yea he sacrificed one and got 3 more
He sacrificed both.
Thank you I don’t hear many people say that Renni was most likely a wraith caller this would explain why Ranni has a bell, similar to the wraith calling bell
when you are demi god and cast away your body you get 4 arms
This makes the most sense to me!
!!!
Personally, I do not think we can trust the concept art. Miquella's body is much smaller and more disproportional in the Mohg art than he is in the memory we see when we pick up his Circlet. I think it is just not cohesive.
@@falgalhutkinsmarzcal3962 I think they would have been at completely different points in his life
@@PurgeEvilTV I know, but Miquella is smaller on Mohg's arm than he is earlier in life. Unless he is Benjamin Button, it does not make sense.
@@falgalhutkinsmarzcal3962 if we know what the dev use to model miquella , then we can ans this question
Cos Ranni has four arms
I figured the second pair around Radahn more a spiritual manifestation than actual extras limbs. His hold is so strong it become visible.
This makes you think whether the Hornsents also put manflies in the jar that made Marika or not.
@@andrewgpisme very nice ⚔️
To be clear, 100% Ranni got 2 set of arms one of them being her soul "body" and other from the doll she possesed, she lost her body in night of black knives, if you want to see any similarity between ranni and miquela double set of arms then, in theory miquela had to perform same ritual to kill gods body.
4:42 and now you completely lost me. He 100% has all his arms complete. The “incomplete arm” is resting on radahns shoulder and it’s a full arm
100%? huh, interesting.
