Loving the “paint job”. I switched to 165 crank arms last year and I’m so happy I did. Find it interesting to see what the Pros are riding, doesn’t influence what I buy though.
@@l.d.t.6327 Their 46/54 wheels with carbon spokes are 1427grams, whereas my 65mm deep Princeton wake evolution is only 1390 grams, cx rays steel spokes and hooked rims.
I’m more keen to learn about the current world champion’s TT bike setup and what they are doing in addition to the bike now that he can’t do head sock shenanigans. Did I hear that gearing right? 42-34 at the lowest? Good lord that is crazy high. Pros are on a completely different level. Good thing there is very little above 10% gradients in this race because otherwise that is absurd to be trying to pedal with those low RPMs at high gradients even for a pro.
We’ll do some more research but this is what we have so far from specialized: Specialized says: "Our design team won’t sacrifice performance for graphics, so they pioneered an exacting technique in bike ‘painting’ called PVD - physical vapour deposition - that adds less than a single gram of weight to create the ‘molten colours’ effect." "The frame is hung on a rotating fixture inside a vacuum chamber. An alloy is vaporized and injected into the chamber. The frame is spun around, and the vaporized metal lands on the surface at the molecular level to create the PVD "liquid metal" coating. It’s all about achieving the design intention while preserving an incredibly lightweight and a 6.8kg complete build."
PVD is a very, very expensive process, and will likely never be used at any scale in bike painting/manufacturing. It’s very slow, and requires very careful control and very expensive equipment.
Even the most sophisticated racing event aka Formula 1 use mostly bare carbon for…? Weight saving. I’m surprised if a bike company (which is absolutely of far lesser sophistication) can make ‘weightless’ paint 🙄
Didn’t you watch the women’s vuelta? They won a stage there. (We watched both btw) but thought you guys might like to see them up close rather than just some shots from a tv camera
If bike brands want to make some serious money they should stop messing around with shaving 100g of weight and start selling bikes with all these Pro Peloton paint jobs, know your audience
I’m not a Specialized guy, but that bike looks suh-weet!
Love chrome bikes!
Is Evenepoel’s latest custom paint hot or not? 🥵🥵🥵
Hot!
Super hot bling 🤩
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hot🌶, wish you could buy it. 👌
2:59 Slammed to PERFECTION . . . YESSS
Would look even better with the new Sram Red with all the silver accents
Surprised to see Evenepoel rocking 165mms on 54-42. I'm sure he used to roll 170s. 165s sounds like a lot of torque going on there.
Simply gorgeous! Edge to edge!

Love my Roval Alpinist wheelset. Brought the weight right down on my steel steed!
Elite drive and Winspace hypers have carbon spokes since many years ago and they are only $1200
But they are both low end wheels from China, and their weight isn’t that low compared to steel spoked wheels
@@jonathanjc1131 What do you mean with 'that low'? Compared to...?
My crw wheels are 400gr lighter, and a lot cheaper 💪

My CRW wheels are 1200g but the finish / bearing are just as good as my rovals….
I’m not a Specialized fan, but this bike boasts one of the most memorable decals, along with Team Astana’s Wilier.
Great looking bike
That bike is amazing!
Beautiful!!!
En France on a déjà les tarifs,3700€ la paire. Je vais garder mes clx2
Hot? This is a Conflagration🔥🔥🔥 The silver/chrome in this edition is burning images old school steel frame in my head. Bring it ON!
Now we just need to see some chromed groupsets 🙂
@@a1white Yesssssss. Oh Boy, that would be a frekin JOY!
The Pro's don't spend money on these components, but we do, and carbon spokes feel dubious at best.
Getting fragile
Very cool !!😎 👌 👍
Anyone spotted that he is not running Shimano powermeter? Looks like he is using Garmin pedal powermeter with Shimano body

You heard right! Rather them than us!
These are seriously bling if this is how they’re being released.
Amazing bike 🤤🤤🤤🤤❤
K-Edge, not Wolf Tooth at 5:30.
You’re absolutely right! K-Edge for the Wolfpack, we’ll give Jamie a stern telling to
@@roadcc Send me one of those bikes and I'll forgive you haha Just kidding. I actually ride the same size Tarmac as Remco ;)
OMG
when we can see this frame closely
it matches the hub so nicely
😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
Clincher with latex tubes over tubulars? Interesting!
The paintjob is amazing. Does anyone have any source of information about this paiting process?
I do

Which powermeter does he use ?
It’s the shimano r9200p

Sick Paintjob. Sell it, and my money is yours.
Does anyone know the function of these bracelets that the video reporter and the Specialized team athletes are using?
Hi, it’s called a whoop band - measures sleep/recovery etc
Its not a carbon spoke. Misleading. The mtb version I guess is a carbon spoke.
What's this about a new bike?
👀👀👀
Didn't you watch the Giro? These wheels were all over the place. Alaphilippe won a stage on them and Rodriguez rode to second on them.
