    Great video.
    I like how you've combined a narrative of the battle with explaining how the game went.
    Great to see To the Strongest. It's a great game. Thanks

    Great presentation of the historical background, and the figures and table in this scale look perfect for this size battle

      Thank you. I do think 6mm is ideal for ancient battles.

      @@MiniatureAdventuresTV I agree with you. Your EXCELLENT videos have made me a convert to 6mm… though, over several decades, I’m really too heavily invested in 28mm figures, buildings & terrain, to seriously contemplate starting a new scale… but we’ll see….. 🤔

    I’ve only just got round to watching this. Great video Lee, perfect balance of the history and the game. Inspiring stuff, time to dig out my 10mm Punic Wars armies.

      I do especially like the “thinking Lee” shot at 5:03 - very inspiring. I do hope you do more of these style vids.

      It's all an act, I never think!! 🤣 Lol.
      BTW I owe a huge debt to the LWTV masterclass videos. They have really helped me improve my video techniques, especially with the Quick Strike format. Judging from the amazing response this video has had in the last 24hrs there is definitely a 'market' for short format battle reports.

    Good to compare this with the little wars video of the same battle

    Great vid! You can use numbered chits pulled out of a bag (like Bolt Action) instead of cards. Less random variable than the dice.

    • @MiniatureAdventuresTV
      @MiniatureAdventuresTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tried that when I first started with TtS but I preferred the look of dice. I figure that so long as the randomisation element is the same for both sides there is no significant disadvantage in my method....although I appreciate it does increase randomisation over a pool of 40 cards/chits. Of course when I have a game where I roll five ones in a turn I may change my tune! 😆

    Loved the battle report! I could barely see the lines of the squares on the table. Is that a commercially done game mat? Thanks.

    • @MiniatureAdventuresTV
      @MiniatureAdventuresTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I got it from Deep Cut Studios and was able to specify the size grid I wanted and how dark the lines would be. Its just a thin cloth mat (so pretty cheap) which works really well over my foam hills.

      @@MiniatureAdventuresTV Nice! I have looked at Deep Cut as I own several of their mats and I know they will add squares to them. How larger are your squares? Thanks again!

    • @MiniatureAdventuresTV

      3" squares on this mat. Just right for the 60mm bases I use (especially when doubling up units in the same box).

    Much of what Polybius and Livy have written about this battle is Roman propaganda. Mago's ambush belongs at Lake Trasimene, and the 10,000 Romans that broke through Hannibal's line at the Trebia, actually ran away before contact with the Carthaginian centre. Unfortunately, academia has not done a thorough study of the many contradictions from the various writers concerning those battles that resulted in a Roman defeat. The real story of the Trebia, which is a shameful Roman defeat has been converted into a shameful Carthaginian defeat and place in another location and time frame.
