Especially this charming man, or Jimi Hendrix stuff like Little Wing. Anyone who says “oh that’s easy, you want real difficulty? Play dream theater bro” is a tool and most likely shitty at guitar anyway
Anything played by Tommy iomi would be hard...at least the way he plays it...or was it geezer butler that was missing his middle finger on fret hand n used a prosthetic finger to play
Dude I’m not good at guitar at all, and for whatever reason I didn’t find it that hard. Also roll your wrist dude it helps so much point the top of of your wrist to the ground and you can stretch way farther
It is full of traps. The syncopation of it, the strumming while fingerpicking, the strings you want to play but aren't supposed to. It's very idiosyncratic. The guy here doesn't even get it exactly right.
Dude. That might be the single closest I have ever seen anyone get to Knopfler’s sound. It’s easy enough to play, but so SO hard to get those last intangible pieces. Respect ❤
Not really, that’s not that hard, you just either have to have huge hands, stretch your hand and warm it up well before playing, or cheat and move to the next string.
I like how you included a little * for Here Comes the Sun because I didn't think it was a technically hard song, mostly strumming with picking out notes. You're right though in that you're kind of playing both rhythm and lead at the same time.
I would say this charming man actually sounds a lot harder than it is. It sounds like it’s as complex as something knopfler would play but in practice it’s not too tricky
I remember learning Every Breath You Take when I was about 12, it was incredibly difficult. My hands weren't big enough at that age to easily attain those stretchy chords haha
The insane part about this charming man too is that Johnny Marr loves open tunings so there is a distinct chance that this was played on some stupid ass tuning and the fretting is hard on top of the phrasing
I remember being so hyped to learn to play Every Breath You Take and then giving up 10 minutes in because it was not at my skill level at the time lmao.
Every breath you take and message in a bottle are definitely fretting hand killers. I was working on my stretches so I decided to try and play them on the bass, let me tell you it was not easy but I was able to get mostly there, only having to microshift one chord. But if I tune down a step and play it lower it’s more doable lol. That my advice to anyone struggling with these riffs.
I learned money for nothing just because I got the basic riff down and then improvised a lot, which is really akin to Knopfler's style of playing. That Every Breath You Take riff is hell, though.
I concur. Notice the lack of distortion, saturation, and resonance. Nowhere to hide. I suppose reverb (the Police being a good example) is a bit of a safety net but not comparable.
If you're gonna put Every Breath on there, you need to also put Message In A Bottle and also Satellite from DMB on there. And I'm pretty sure Money For Nothing has a lore more thumb going on in the bass notes. Good list though for sure.
Sometimes a riff might seem easy to play but getting the subtle things right is difficult. I feel like early R.E.M. songs are like that on guitar and bass.
Okay "hard" might be a bit of a stretch, especially compared to the Hard AF Riffs vid, but you can't deny these are DECEPTIVE.
I can't play guitar so they are all hard for me.
Bit of a stretch, especially The Police riff!

oh my god that money for nothing tone is insane
Probably the closest I've ever heard someone get to the tone used in studio. That's wild.
Same dude that was fucking insane!!
@@m000sej00sesounds like he is using the studio version. Even the drums come in at the end.
@@m000sej00se exactly
blew my mind
He is playing it wrong though. Mark is using index and thumb on the D string and the middle on the G and B strings
Yeah every breath you take is a godamn fret hand killer.
I find it easier to individually fret the notes out one by one, which is more movement but generally less painful (i have small hands)
Message in a bottle is another one, the stretch combined with the high tempo make it absolutely fucked lol
@@PiizzaTime lol i tried to learn message in a bottle as my second riff and it was scuffed af
Dude I’m not good at guitar at all, and for whatever reason I didn’t find it that hard.

This charming man always seemed hard as hell to play.
fr
It was the first ‘technical’ song I ever learned, I hear people call it difficult, but it’s ingrained into my fingers at this point.
that's the musical genius of Johnny Marr for you
Johnny Fucking Marr for you. Wrote it in his 20s. Absolute madlad.
Like the lads in the comments said: Johnny Freaking Marr. That’s all that needs to be said.
I can play thrash and death metal no problem but Here Comes The Sun totally kicks my ass every time lmao
It is full of traps. The syncopation of it, the strumming while fingerpicking, the strings you want to play but aren't supposed to. It's very idiosyncratic. The guy here doesn't even get it exactly right.
this is honestly me with this charming man sadly
With your tone, money for nothing sounds really good. Good job man

Dude. That might be the single closest I have ever seen anyone get to Knopfler’s sound. It’s easy enough to play, but so SO hard to get those last intangible pieces. Respect ❤
This Charming Man is tough af
MOTHER MOTHER MENTIONED👏👏 That tone was spot on
I WANNA HEAR A FULL VERSION OF MONEY FOR NOTHING FROM YOU RIGHT NOW!! That was SO GOOD, it was perfect!!!
This Charming Man sounds fucking deadly 😂
Andy Summers has to have the most flexible hands on earth
It seems everything he plays is harder than it needs to be.
Not really, that’s not that hard, you just either have to have huge hands, stretch your hand and warm it up well before playing, or cheat and move to the next string.
Tone is spot on man
the smiths this charming man is such a fun riff to play but i have forgotten how to play it
that money for nothing was like a 1:1. Incredible!
Every single riff was wonderful. Great job!
Your tone for all of these is so spot on
You killed these. Nice!! That smiths one was spot on
Johnny Marr is so iconic

Now I wanna see the vid on 5 riffs that sound awesome and difficult but are actually pretty easy
Watching you play moneu for nothing really just made me motivated to pick up my guitar again after 2 years, thanks man
I like how you included a little * for Here Comes the Sun because I didn't think it was a technically hard song, mostly strumming with picking out notes. You're right though in that you're kind of playing both rhythm and lead at the same time.
Money For Nothing tone is on point!
I would also submit Rush's "Closer To The Heart" for a similar reason to "Here Comes The Sun".
Alex Lifeson is so underrated
I would say this charming man actually sounds a lot harder than it is. It sounds like it’s as complex as something knopfler would play but in practice it’s not too tricky
His tones are always like spot on
I can play Megadeth songs like it's fucking nothing and I still struggle with Here Comes The Sun.
Damn dude you’re getting way smoother with your playing
Wow man these are some awesome guitar riffs right here I love it. Shred on dude.😃👍❤️🔥⚡️🎶🎸
You can play Every Breath You Take in Drop C# to save you some trouble
Here comes the sun is so relaxing. I could sleep to that
How casually you always hit the perfect tone is insane
I remember learning Every Breath You Take when I was about 12, it was incredibly difficult. My hands weren't big enough at that age to easily attain those stretchy chords haha
i have literally tried to play all of these tabs, i am glad someone has said theyre hard to play
The money for nothing tone was perfect, what pedals did you use for it?
Holy shit, that cover of the money for nothing is the greatest ive ever heard
That's the best I've heard time wise and playing on money for nothing man. Good job

who has ever though this charming man sounds easy I'd like a word (it was one of the first songs I learned but Man was it a learning experience)
Money for Nothing intro still fucking slaps all these years later
You’re one of the only ppl I’ve seen getting the phrasing down that well on money for nothing
You're a excellent guitar player imo
This charming man always felt fine to me, but it’s a song I’ve seen a good few people say they found tough
You look like the type to play guitar in the best way possible.
One of the best recreations of money for nothing I have ever seen, nice one
The harmonics on Money for Nothing sent me.
Johnny Marr is just something different
The insane part about this charming man too is that Johnny Marr loves open tunings so there is a distinct chance that this was played on some stupid ass tuning and the fretting is hard on top of the phrasing
It's written in F# standard
Ok how tf did you get the money for nothing tone so spot on
The frustration of confidently going in to learn money for nothing and then finding out how much of a ball ache it actually is well never leave me.
Me at first: “that ain’t working”
Me after some practice: “that’s the way you do it!”
Yess!!! Here comes the sun was very hard for me😂
KEEP THESE SERIES
I remember I wanted to learn here comes the sun as one of my first songs 😂 huge reality check
Could you do top 5 iconic harmony sections?
Nice fingerpicking on the Dire Straits song!
This charming man shouldn’t be in the list. It sounds hard af 😂
I stopped playing guitar for a long while... I'll play all these tomorrow
Charming man never sounded particularly easy to me

Mr. Brightside by The Killers and Can't Stop by RHCP spring to mind.
You nailed the tone on money for nothing!
The intro to how high the moon by les paul sounds easy but the fast chord changes are kind of tricky
Do a guitar riffs that stretches your hand like ratt's round and round riff
long distance by all 😭 i’ve almost mastered megadeths tornado of souls solo but still manage to heavily struggle playing this song
I concur. Notice the lack of distortion, saturation, and resonance. Nowhere to hide. I suppose reverb (the Police being a good example) is a bit of a safety net but not comparable.
Money For Nothing's riff is basically a banjo roll at three quarter speed
Would kill for the rest of the Dire Straits cover
Me a beginner on guitar trying here comes the sun discovering now that it is not that simple
Mother mother mentioned, I love you.
This Charming Man doesn't sound easy in any universe
The charming man sounds hard
The maddest thing about Johnny Marr’s riffs in all of The Smiths tracks, is that he wrote the majority of them when he was 18/19 😅
If you're gonna put Every Breath on there, you need to also put Message In A Bottle and also Satellite from DMB on there.
And I'm pretty sure Money For Nothing has a lore more thumb going on in the bass notes.
Good list though for sure.
bro, do you want a hug?
How did you get that tone for This Charming Man, that’s literally on point?
