The toxicology issue is not "expired goods" (bad as it is) but rather the contamination of packaged food with a highly poisonous pesticide. That should be the focus of police investigation as to how this pesticide gets into the packaged snacks and where in the supply chain does the contamination occur.

Expired food can kill as well. A few weeks ago tinned pilchards that expired in 2021 was relabelled to 2026, how dangerous is that. They keep flouting the rules for profit.
