Germany eh? Nice little thing that early 12r twin.. Tell your friend with the T2 it needs a rebuid. Compresion is definitely down, that's why it doesn't start easily anymore. I had a T2 in 1978. Now at 60 years old I'm building a turbo T2. I aim to push the motor to 30 bhp at the rear wheel. Lots of lightening, alloy swingarm and weight reduction will be taking place too. They are far too heavy for the motor, a lowly 17 bhp at the wheel and over 200 lbs in weight is just crazy. The motor is VERY strong, their weakness is accelerated wear in the bores due to poor oiling. I will eliminate that and use fully synthetic 50 grade oil. It's a 'project', I have 10 motorcycles !
I don't know why they don't do air parallel engines anymore ... With four-stroke engines, it works every fourth stroke, so it's very irritating when you depend on one cylinder ... it would be nice to see a light 250 cc air parallel twin engine with a maximum weight of 130 kg ...
@@hsanders5056 ja also laut technischen Daten kann man da dann wohl nicht gehen. Ich weiß ja das die Dinger 40 Jahre und älter sind, aber man möchte sich natürlich an den Angaben des Herstellers orientieren. Aber das passt ja vollkommen, schneller würde ich auch garnicht fahren. Möchte gerne eine k3 super Sport ... bin gespannt was die kann :-) Laut Angaben 5kmh weniger als die k4 und die k5 😅 Kannst du da ein paar Erfahrungswerte mitgeben? Beste Grüße
@@rubberfooty bin schon mehrere 125 k gefahren. Laufen etwa alle gleich, brauchen alle ordentlich Drehzahlen. Die neuere B6 ist etwas anders abgestimmt. Sie zieht von unten einen Tick besser, dafür aber weniger Höchstgeschwindigkeit.

Das irrste ist, dass sie besser läuft als eine ganz neue! Ich liebe diese Wunderwerke japanischer Ingenieurskunst der 60er und 70er.
