Wow... you even use your thumb to get the Wes Montgomery sound. That's not easy to do. The story goes that Wes used his thumb because he lived in an apartment building and he didn't want to disturb his neighbors. So he had to keep the volume down on his amp and play softly with his thumb... but that turned into his unique sound and added a great sound to his use of octaves... which you, young lady have also mastered. Bravo.
Lovely tasteful comping under the piano solo that belies a maturity beyond her years, Also a notable very melodic solo second time around the chart. As others have mentioned, it's great to see the folks coming up to eventually replace us. They seem rock solid and committed,
we all stand on the shoulders of giants. this young lady picked a terrific giant to emulate, and did him proud. and let’s not forget the fabulous backup band she chose.
I have said it before I will say it again come on Internet send this young woman Gibson 175D switch master. Surely there is a collector with one in the closet they are not playing the Stradivarius always needs to find the gifted. Love how you kept your timing solid while retaining the relaxed vibe in the busier runs. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hey, upon watching your playing I thought of a song you might want to check out. It’s called Red Door from Joe Pass, and it’s from an album called Appassionato. It’s on TH-cam for your listening pleasure. Let me know what you think about it. I’ve always enjoyed the licks and “summery” atmosphere. Enjoy.
Fantastic, there's something about using the fingers instead of a pick, the sound is warmer, maybe you're less faster but a great sound, a matter of priority.
I'm a fan of Dominyka, and love her delicate playing on ballads such as this. Very mature. But, Wes didn't write it - Music by Henry Mancini and lyrics by Johnny Mercer. A top-shelf duo! I would kindly suggest that she stands and plays. Move around. And get a more "Jazz" like wardrobe. I don't normally comment on these sorts of things, but I believe she can go very far as an artist with the right look and stage presence. I play guitar - and have a GB-10, but not the hands she has. It's wonderful to see so many young people playing Jazz!!!! Glad to shear a keyboard solo. How about some trading measures? More interplay between all the musicians. If you're going to do Wes, you need to have some octave solo lines, to pay homage... Bravo! FrancescoB - The Jazz Whistler... and a whole lot more! www.youtube.com/@user-francescob
Great to see a younger generation who still respect and appreciate the one and only Wes Montgomery.
When the job is so so well done, you may allow yourself a little smile.
This is my favorite We Montgomery. It seems like a perfect song. Absolutely beautiful performance.
Thank you :)
So beautifully done by a beautiful lady! Wow!

Thumb only! Just like Wes! ❤
I heard the reason he did that came from practicing late at night and not wanting to wake up his baby
@@bobolokoI heard it was the neighbours he didn't want to bother.

Excellent video! If you could take a Time Machine back to see only one live jazz artist of your choosing, who would you go see?
Thank you : ) I would like to attend the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival :)
