Great podcast. Google is disrupting the relationship between publishers and its search engine with their AI answers. I can't imagine living in a world without an open web. It's disheartening to think that the top platforms for content creation are closed systems like TH-cam and TikTok.
That sony speaker reminds me of a giant JVC boombox I used for street performances in the 90s (don't judge). It had a strap that was made like a seatbelt. Does the sony box match up??? I say no.

Adobe generative fill is magical for maybe the 3 things it does well. But it is 99% impossible to creatively direct in any way to the point that I’ve had it place a child’s face in an area I was trying to have it remove and match the surrounding color/shading (which is usually one of the few things it does well enough).
regarding the Google thing the performance scores (core vitals) use Chrome data and they mention it on their docs. IDK why they say it’s not true that Chrome data is used for ranking 🤔🤔
What would stop smaller publishers working together to fund a class-action lawsuit? Are these OpenAI deals not just a strategy to divide and conquer to head that off?
Websites are still essential for small businesses and tons of ecom businesses. They skew this to only content creators which very few ppl are statistically that actually make money doing it. Ecom lives online mixed with Amazon, Walmart, etc for small businesses. Google needs to restructure it's algo to reformat it's version of the web which is too fantastic to just give up on. There are still issues with Tiktok like national security and ppl who don't use it, like me and my family.
Please do the "OpenAI disclosure" so frequently it appears in GPT-4 training data and eventually ChatGPT stats adding disclosures because it thinks thats how ppl write about tech...
"what if we made a browser that can keep track..." Bruh, they made an entire phone OS that exists on most phones in the world... Google KNOWS intimate data on what a majority of the world is browsing to, and has a good idea for the rest that use Google search on a non-android/non-chrome device.

The Arc browser basically runs Chrome. But you can dig for and find the settings that turn off some of the spyware features.
