@@HeyDoctorHelene The gag is, just sitting there, y'all LOOK like you're prepared! I hear the confidence and conviction in your voices and it's so very reassuring. I'm glad those who went to a PWI for UG got to experience thee unexplainable experience that is an HBCU. I pray all of you all have much success in all your endeavors!
If this isn't confirmation I truly don't know what is. Today was my day to narrow down where I was going to apply.Morehouse was ALWAYS on my list but I just needed some inside knowledge from actual students and here you go with this video that popped up on my recommendations today!!! LOOK AT GOD!!!!!
I’m a hs senior (headed to either Xavier, Howard or Morehouse) and I never considered MSM or really any HBCU for med school prior to this. I really enjoyed this video and feel inspired by all of y’all.
Anytime I feel overwhelmed thinking about applying (even though I’m not there yet) I watch this video. It is so encouraging and makes me happy to see people who look like me at the place I’m working to get to ❤
I’m not in medicine. I am in nursing and came across your channel. I love seeing black faces in medicine. I am so proud to see more content of black physicians 🙏🏽 I hope you continue to post because More black youth need to see this type of content. I wish you the utmost success in all your career endeavours
I’m no where near applying to medical school yet. But when I feel like I need a push I always come back to this video. So amazing to see students like me excel when I’m doubting myself. It’s always nice to know someone like you went through it and made it 🤍
Im Australian. I had never heard of HBCU but as a person with Aboriginal heritage who had a really crappy start to life, I really like the idea of these schools giving opportunities to people who maybe didn't have them before. Equity and equality is so important. People need to see people from similar walks of life make it. Australia didn't have its first Aboriginal doctor until 1983! We still only have less than 400 in a country of 25 million. It's about 0.5 percent of the workforce. When I saw this number I felt so angry. Angry enough to get off my ass and apply for Medical School. Moving across the country next year to start my MD degree. Absolutely terrified but videos like this make me realise that I can do anything.
Black people built these schools because white schools didn’t accept black people. We built our own, nobody gave us a chance, we gave ourselves a chance.
You can come to a Black College in the U.S from overseas. Just apply you might get a scholarship. There are Black from all over the world including Aborigines who have gone to HBCU.
Thank you so much ! I am currently a post bac student who was contemplating if I wanted to apply so due to it being far from home but after listening to everyone testimony I am sold !!!
Absolutely love your videos! They always give me that much more hope. I feel like I had a sit-down with everyone personally. Please keep the content coming ✨
@@HeyDoctorHelene do you have any tips that could make me stand out in the application process? Im taking honors classes and double majoring in biology and psychology.
Hi! I’ve been researching medical schools and determining which schools I would apply to and I’m so glad I stumbled on your video because Morehouse is one of my top schools
Best video ever. Thank you so much for answering literally every question I may have had, and you had a great cast that offered a lot of different perspectives and comments. 10/10
Thank you! I’ll be attending Georgia State this fall for undergrad and Morehouse Medicine is one of my dream schools! You all have definitely sealed the deal!!
Great Advice, I really enjoyed this video. So much enlightenment and confirmation was taken from this video. More house School of Medicine is #1 on my list that I would love to get accepted too. Plus I am an AUC student graduating this May. 🥰🥰🥰🎊🎊 Thanks Everyone! Confirmation.
I really loved this video because the most recent virtual info session I attended was not as insightful as I hoped. It focused more on the master's program path to Med Sch After watching this, I am really gravitating towards Morehouse and I am hoping that I will be receiving an interview invite and eventually an acceptance. May I please ask how you navigated housing? Do most students live on campus housing or away from campus? Also, most downtown areas across the country are often challenging to live in in terms of safety and accessibility; Did you live downtown which I think is where MSM is located and how was your experience? Thank you
I lived off campus because that was my preference. They on campus housing was being built so you should reach out to current students about that. My first year I lived downtown with a roommate and it was fine
@@HeyDoctorHelene Thank you once again for your video. I wanted to give you an update. I enrolled at MSM and I currently through my first week And oh boy, medical school is challenging but Im determined to succeed! I hope to meet you soon ~2yrs during my rotations to say thank you in person.
Hi. I'm sorry I was mean before, but how was your Memorial Day? Yesterday, I had a barbecue at my church. I also had a cake to celebrate my little cousins' graduations. Daddy and my little brother Seth went to the barbecue with me. Our uncle and Daddy's little brother Andrew drove us there. Right after the barbecue, Andrew drove us home. Right after he left, I walked all the way to church and back home. My uncle was very worried about me, so he texted me when I was on my way home.
Do you think the admissions committee accepts HBCU undergrads first before people that attend PWI’s? I’m a black student at a PWI that isn’t very popular and was just curious?
I don’t care what anybody says, I’m going to Morehouse. It’s a wrap, period.
ayeeeee!
OMG Finally!!! Black women. Black men. Black doctors. Black school. ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎😍

Aspiring morehouse med student here any advice?
“You should have a baby” 😂😂😂😂
Do you think the admissions committee accepts HBCU undergrads first before people that attend PWI’s? I’m a black student at a PWI that isn’t very popular and was just curious?
Would u recommend transferring to an hbcu?
They do not take that into account
Temple should be HBCU
What BCPM (science gpa) would you think an applicant may need?
at least 3.3
Why is Ollie on the kitchen counter?..smh
smh!!!! I didn't even notice!
What would you say is key to a application other than GPA and grades
Service and experience
I have one question, what is the cost of going there like? Do they have merit scholarships for tuition?
Around $50k-$60k per year. That information is online. Yes, they have scholarships but very few to none would cover 100%
@@HeyDoctorHelene Thank you!
Are you or any of your classmates willing to mentor someone applying to your school?
You can reach out to them and see!
Omg can you do score reveal
Already did
Does Morehouse have a nursing program?
no, it's a medical school
Hey Dr. Helene can I ask you for some advice, if you don't mind sharing your email?
