Foolish they haven't considered 1½ year chapters yet, then we would have a new chapter every winter, then summer, then winter, and so on, making releases fresh
But as Jay O Why said, it would seem difficult to squeeze in an extra season or two onto an Island if Map Changes are as significant as they currently are. Of course, you could reduce the map changes each season, but people ALREADY complain about the lack of constant map changes DURING a Season, and also about how 'small' the Map Changes are THIS Season too. I feel like we're stuck in a stalemate between fewer map changes and longer chapters, or more map changes and shorter chapters.
@@SunSh1neFN I feel like this is why we get so many biomes now too. The Biomes come with all sorts of mini landmarks and whatnot alongside the main POIs. It's also probably why the Map Changes in C4 and 5 are the way they are now. People complained about too few map changes in Chapter 2 and 3 (Despite Chapter 3 getting literally weekly/ bi-weekly map changes and by the end of the Chapter, everything has had atleast ONE Change...) and now Epic spends all their Map Change budget on HUGE Seasonal Changes and Brand New Islands with little room left for anything else. (except collab locations)
I would rather chapter 6 start more similarly to chapter 2, where it starts kinda bland, but at the same time, it is also quite interesting, in my opinion, and then over time, we get changes over a longer amount of time.
people will complain just like they did with chapter 4 when it was perfect that's the only chapter that I actually enjoyed and felt close to me being young playing chapter 1
It’s truly impossible with the kids wanting updates. Yet at the same time, this map has lacked ALOT of Color. So I wouldn’t mind leaving it. But. We also need time to enjoy and remember the map. And 1 year isn’t enough. I could name every single square inch of the chapter 1 map.
@@00pium_kingvampstanyeah idk what they're smoking when they say color. I'd say the map is to dead if anything despite having lots of biomes and npc's feels like there's nothing to do at a previous season's location. cause almost every item from last season gets removed if it's not a gun.
I'd like 6-7 seasons per chapter. Just enough to let it grow, and not too much to make everyone bored (This is before watching the video) Edit: That's a very good point of the maps being exhausted, with no space for additions. I really hope chapter 6 is managed better, as chapter 2 had with the changes being added slowly, or being spaced like season 2
The two years chapters were so much better it was more planned and gives epic more time to plan map changes and updates and events and i think it will make epic so less permanent experiments like this chapter just experimented too much and didn't kept anything old I liked the ch2 meta where the old things were kept and the new things were added every season it felt fresh and better and now yearly chapters will be just be there to introduce a new metaverse mode to get more hype for it
@@MrJayOWhybut for it to be a cash grab when it's free, means most people enjoy the new maps thus making them play and spend money in the itemshop. If most people preferred the longer chapters, that would make more money. Epic is definitely using player statistics and doing what keeps the most amount of players interested in the game.
I really miss Fortnites cartoonish looks, after chapter 4 it just seemed like the color on the map is so boring. I miss the vibrant green maps like chapter 2.
Tbh i want 2 year chapters again becuase u get to experience the map and i want the updates to happen in a longer period of time like chapter 2 becuase when it happens shortly its more exciting and nice this right now is to over whelming and i want the storyline to be longer
Honestly, this is sadly our fault. We got bored on the C2 map cause it wasn’t C1, and we got bored on the C3 map, cause it wasn’t C2, and so on, leading to them swapping their plans and dropping the 8 Season plan and splitting them into two different chapters. Making C4 feel very undercooked yet experimental, and boring yet realistic in a very Fortnite kind of way. This Chapter however, has struck the perfect balance of fun, but balanced, (outside of last season) good, but still flawed, and the thing it has that the end of C3, and the entirety of C4 didn’t have is a clear identity, strong sense of what it wants to be, (even working collabs well into the themes, rather than js adding them on like previous chapters did.) and storyline that has led through all four seasons. However, if next Chapter is not gonna be as memorable as this one, or as good even, then keep it, and make it 2 years long instead.
How is this our fault? Epic games literally wanted money and to release their dumbeunreal engine stuff. But hey at least we have jakus’s video *What Fortnite Chapter 3 Could Have Been* about what chapter could have been if it was 8 seasons long
Not sure if you know, but the reason chapter 3 was cut short was because Epic wanted to make a new map based around their Lumen and Nanite changes in UE5
Chapter 5's map is really good, but it is WAAAAAAY too empty, there is too many moments where i feel like the map is super flat or super uninteresting, especially the desert biom, i like that biom but it doesn't have anything going on with it, it's designed for THAT season only
@@TheStinkMarketUpdateseasons 1,2,3,4 it was good. 5 was alright aswell. 6 was garbage, 7 and 8 were pretty much the same season but the aliens was a good idea for one of them. So I disagree. I actually think it was better than the chapter 1 map. Sure chapter 1 is INSANELY nostalgic but gameplay wise chapter 2 did it best along with its map.
@@pokechespingames9084 agreed, chapter 2 just felt like an improved version of chapter 1 to me which made it better, sure, chapter 1 is hella nostlagic to people, but chapter 2 was just better overall
I think the idea of changing the maps pois completely every year is smart, so basically you could have a new “map” each year without actually changing chapter. Example- so instead in a hypothetical “C5 S5” we could see a lot of old pois replaced like reckless railways and grand glacier, which would take away form the island’s identity but then again I think it would be a hell of a lot easier to replace every location on the map and give us an 8 season chapter, rather then to keep bumping out new maps every year
i hope they make it like chapter 2 again, the pois on the season 1 map felt unique and different compared to the chapters after it, thats why it was able to retain it's pois, they were very good and they felt iconic
Are we going to talk about the MAIN story line of battle royale?! I started in chapter 3 and the story is what got me hooked on the game and since after chapter 3 they just threw that story away like garbage :( BRING IT BACK!!!
What made old Fortnite so fun and great is that we connected to it. We loved watching our map changing and evolving. We loved the old guns mixed with new guns. Now you just don’t connect to the map. It’s just a bunch of stuff piled on top of the island making it unrecognizable. You don’t love the map. You wouldn’t be sad that the map is leaving now. What made Fortnite unique is how it connected with us. They need to bring back 2-3 yr chapters. Add the OG guns back too (they are the identity of fortnite) and also have new guns. To the people saying they would get bored, that isn’t the maps fault. That’s epics fault. They didn’t have a good season and map changes.
I think, unlike in Chapter 4, Fortnite has done a great job with the live events and visual storytelling on the map, which did for me grow a connection with the map, this might actually make me miss this map
@MrJayOWhy I think they might consider Longer chapters when they get the story in the right place again we could have a great time with ch6 if they do it correctly and continue with what they are doing. I think it's because the new story director is getting the new story on track then we might get longer chapters if the execution is good. How about ch6 they do it as a test then ch7 if they do it we'll then they do it for 1.5 years then if it doesn't well ch7 will be 1 year ig or it could vary dependant on the story like chaotic storyline sure year long but if they want an in depth storyline make it longer
I hate this map so much, it was fine at first but oh my god is it such an eye sore right now it all just clashes TERRIBLY and it also just lacks bright colour
@@MrJayOWhy it still just feels very dead and diluted because of the colour palette. Although it’s an improvement it also makes the map look more unnatural and unappealing, the great thing about chapters 1-3’s maps were that they felt livable and like an island, they were genuinely fun places to explore and play on with interesting and unique locations, especially with the vibrant greens and sprawling biomes, along with a great tone throughout the chapters. chapters 4 and 5 have felt like a cobbled together mess with ugly colours and over saturated or under saturated tones, and boring or bad locations overall.
Finally I found someone with the same opinion and yea imo the Greek biomes changed too much and are really ass and the map alr feels too messy and lacks a feel all around Also not every season needed to be a biome update that just used up the whole map too quickly
Hmmm simple argument here: remember 5 years ago when they did weekly updates and still added more biomes despite the chapters being 2 years long? And no you can't make a season 5 out of this map because epic has blasted random biomes all over it, previous chapters were able to add new biomes yet maintain their ability to have 2 year chapters. There are also other ways to add new locations then just adding new biomes every season, nowadays epic just adds new biomes and abandons every other part of the map but if they for instance actually updated everywhere in the map instead of never touching many locations again they wouldn't have to add new biomes constantly, examples are the haunted hills castle, viking village, lazy links, dusty divot, and more. I'm very glad they did this with season 4 ch 5. The older areas of the map aren't supporting the other areas, now they just act as a lumpy transition to what has turned into 4 different maps with no correlation to each other. The older areas have just felt abandoned as they've had other maps just kinda splotched on. Pretty much your whole point in the video is helious to overcrowded, uh yeah but why can't we switch to longer chapters next chapter? I'm writing this comment to say fortnite doesn't have to do it this way. What if you made your video about how epic could solve this issue, the video is incomplete if you just say it can't happen because problem
I discussed the fundamental beliefs that, in my opinion, need to be embedded in a chapter’s map. It should somewhat resemble its Season 1 counterpart. Later maps have given us multiple fully-fledged biomes right from their first iteration, leading to replacements rather than gradual growth. Fortnite has already demonstrated what they are capable of with their Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 maps. Yes, certain locations may feel abandoned. The reason for this is the aggressive pace of map changes, with resources being moved so quickly that players can’t form meaningful connections to the map or location , which I also touch on in the video. I keep hearing people say they want two year maps, but they don’t consider the fact that map changes would need to slow down significantly. However, the Fortnite community might not want that. The current model is probably the best one for now, but it will likely lead to Maps being exhausted in just 9-10 months instead of the longer 18-24 month cycle.
People make no sense to me, They want stuff like ch1&2 but want the map to change CONSTANTLY! yet the thing that made CH1&2 because they were LONG and they helped us make memories on them- like i wish we could go back to 2 year seasons
This video prooves my point perfectly. I've always had a problem with the Chapter 5 map being cluttered, they would add new biomes every season instead of just new POI's wich just ends up in the map overstacking and leaving less vaccant space. IMO it would have been better if they added new POI's that they can easily remove because I dont think they can get away with just ripping off the entire Mount Olympus area and adding back hazy hillslide. it would have been better if they just added new POI's instead of biomes. it would actually reflect upon the original map because season 2 would have just taken off like a good 30% of the map anyway. I feel like the season 1 map is the best of all of them because theres no green water or any of that stuff its just simple battle royale. some people might not agree with me and might say the season 1 map had no color but thats just what I think not what you think. and honestly the entire wasteland area is a completely dead wasteland now. I landed brutal beachead in season 4 in ranked where people always land in highly obscure spots and nobody was there besides bots wich are programmed to land there. The biomes on this map overstack and just create a massive mess of a map and its an eyesore imo. The map is the only thing that ruined this season 4 and the last season 4 (c4 s4). But to answer the question of this video. Yes I agree with every word that was uttered in this video and epic needs to hear this out and see about map boundaries and what not. Great video
I also have a good way epic can improve future maps though. 1st season: The introduction to the map with plenty vaccant areas for future updates 2nd season: less than 5 new "POI'S" to explore and not "Biomes" these POI's can also have bosses and vaults in them 3rd season: replace some older POI's (or newer POI's) for newer ones Or maybe add an extra biome over vaccant space but not too big these can also be boss POI's 4th season: Huge monumental POI's that cover 30% of the map and is easily replaceable for more POI's And if you wanna continue on theres still extra space 5th season: remove last season POI's and add a new biome replacing other biomes that were added 6th season: remove most map changes from other seasons and revert certain biomes back to how the season 1 map looked and then make changes to the way the season 1 POI's lookes 7th season: add landmarks ontop of hills and whatnot to really fill in any extra space on the map and add new POI's followintg the theme of the landmarks 8th season: bring in some type of Huge Boss lacation that ties into the storyline of the chapter that replaces some of the POI's im really not sure how to continue from there so thats the end of what I could think of
I think they could have incorporated Hazy Hillside into that biome somehow. I kind of get why POIs (Points of Interest) change, but I really love it when the old POI is incorporated with the changes. The only example I can think of is Boney Burbs, which is a poor example. . I suppose Mega Mall, Tilted Towers, and Neo Tilted also count. i guess it kinda happened to Reels this chapter, but not really.
I feel like epic didnt exactly think when it came to yearly chapters, yes players wanted constant map changes, but like in chapter 1, excluding season x, do what that did and change current pois, like the nitrodome and underworld, change them
Yeah if chapter 6 has the chapter 5 graphics and feels just like chapter 5 its not gonna do good so I hope fortnite is finnaly listening to the community
There’s gonna be more of these nostalgia bait mini seasons in certain parts of the year not just November, so they can compensate for their financial losses and irrelevancy
The solution to this problem Is 6-7 season chapter Have the first season map be normal With small map change every week to some of the poi to keep thing fresh which is something the chapter 5 map lack and then bring 1 new poi mid season as mid season map change Mid season and small map change was the best part of chapter 1 and 3 In season 2 Bring 4 poi no new biome so the poi look small on the map menu but big when your there best example of this is chapter 2 season 2 In season 3 you can finally bring a new biome to a corner of the map and change alot of the poi btw i mean change not remove or replaced Also small map change every week should be for every season Season 4 should do the season 2 formula i mentioned above except with a mid season new poi Season 5 add a biome And season 6 add a biome and mid map change The problem with chapter 5 is the past season change lose its impact after the next season There's no reason to keep going back to moint Olympus There's no reason to go the underworld And the medallion is part of the problem They should be removed from the next chapter Alot of chapter 5 map is poorly designed It's too wide and empty Also there should never be a new biome in middle of the map because if people dislike it it's gonna hurt the mao badly and make people want less of it
map changes every week is alot of work for epic games ngl but I also agree with what you said abou there being no reason to land at certain POI's like brawlers battleground or Mount olympus or Redline Rig and Nitrodome was especially nerfed in season 4 with the demanded removal of car mods.
@@Hades_god509 When I said map change every week I meant small map change They used do that ALOT in chapter 3 and 1 Especially chapter 3 Every week in season 1 of chapter 3 there was small Io drill and camp introduced until eventually we got covert caverns We also got titled And 3 stink hole And snow melting And that's just season 1
Correct me if im wrong, Mount olympus took away hazy hillside if im not mistaken, i can barely remember it bcuz of the greek season, i loved landing there. I wish they went back to ch2 style, like, yknow when season 8 existed. We had a map changed over the season, which led to the end of ch2. I LOVED IT! what i think fortnite should be doing. Is making chapters last as long as 1 and 2, keep the island recognisable, and each season if the season is based on something like wilds. Make the biome progress instead of already finished, like in ch3 s4. It was already done, and there was no progress to the biome, we need it to progress, and fortnite needed to listen more.
No cus the reason we look back at chapter 1 and 2 fondly is not only nostalgia. It's cus Chapter 1 and 2 were the best of the best. I loved how the final season of those chapters started normalish and by the end of the season it looked destroyed or disordered leading to the new map. Also, the POIs added could be minor, yes, but there were so many changes happening all the time that it just felt like.. wow. I think Chapter 3's problem was that it was too good to begin with. And Chapter 4 just felt off to me. I liked it till season 3, but Season 4 just felt so unnecessary to me. Also, the storyline could do better with longer chapters as well. Chapter 1 and 2's storyline was so peak, I liked Chapter 3's a lot too. Chapter 4 was just ok. Chapter 5's storyline is good, don't get me wrong, but it just feels like a new storyline entirely, it feels as if everything that happened before was just retconned. I get season og's end event reset the storyline entirely back to chapter 2, but idk. Like what happened to the IO? The Last Reality? The Seven? Geno? Like pleasee. We're supposedly going back in time again after this season back to Chapter 2's map, which, storyline wise I don't get. Thought that map was gone but ok. But I'm prayingg Chapter 6 is longer. Like, even if just one more season longer I'll take it. Cus I'm tired of 1 year long seasons. Also praying for confirmation that everything that happened from Chapter 1 to 4 wasn't just retconned.
"I honestly believe Chapter 5 is narratively one of the best stories Fortnite has told, and I spent years with that being my main content. The Big Bang did not reset the story. We have had Midas and Doctor Doom with a continuation of their stories. Slone and Jones in Chapter 4, Season 4, brought things back from the past to the future (like Tomatohead). This was to test if the plan could work-to see if the timeline would change. However, nothing changed at all, or rather, nothing majorly changed. So they sent it back with Jones, The plan was to extract the energy from the end and use it in Chapter 4 to bring them to Chapter 5. I believe Fortnite doesn't need the Big 3. I think it was actually a smart move to give the Seven, the Last Reality, and the I.O. a bit of breathing space. Fortnite needs to world-build beyond those characters; they will return.
@@MrJayOWhy I have to agree with you. Chapter 5's storyline has been amazing. Like you said in the video, the visual story telling has been great. I'm happy with the mini events they're doing. Also, my bad. I think I misunderstood the story of Chapter 4 onwards. I didn't play much during C4S4 so maybe that's why it don't have any fond memories of it. I was under the impression that the Big Bang reset the timeline and set us back in time to what would be Chapter 2 but 'different' and I my opinion was faced on that. I was just a little sad that the Wanderer turned out to be a Marvel character. But when thinking of it as a whole, it does make sense and I'm quite enjoying the story. I just really hope old characters and factions come back in the future, but more importantly longer seasons. As another comment said, 1½ year chapters sounds like a great idea as it gives us longer chapters but they don't dragged on as long as 2 years.
@@kolixqWe've had some success on this map and some great decisions from Epic. Just a quick note about the Big Bang event: this is my opinion on what it meant. I guess it could end up being an alternative Chapter 2. I'm just presenting the facts as I saw them. I feel many storyline enthusiasts are quick to pick one scenario and stick with it with all their might. However, there’s evidence that hints towards what I'm suggesting. and shouldn't be dismissed quite quickly Chapter 5, at best, is paying homage to elements of Chapter 2. Of course, we are noticing similar story beats, and Fortnite has done this in the past
I would love for Fortnite to go back to longer maps. I just can’t find good in these maps if I can’t stay on them long. The Fortnite community just gets on my nerves sometimes with their complaining. People just don’t see the difference anymore with giving epic feedback than just being a jerk to Epic. I also am the story person and the story has not really hit good lately. But I can see the story slowly getting better again. I think it is just kind of hard to figure the story out after the whole no story for chapter 4 and near the end of chapter 3.
I honestly believe chapter five coherently is one the best story’s told out of any chapter. It doesn’t have the big 3. It doesn’t have the big show of collision type events. But what it has had is a clearer narrative Involving multiple season with stuff like Pandora’s box, hopes story And continuing the story doom left in zero war
They definitely should do what they did with chapter 2 next chapter because you still would recognize it but then a new season would happen with a new biome in the middle and you’d be like wow that’s really cool
In my opinion the 2 year chapters are ideal but since epic will sadly most likely never return I think border changes are okay. It makes each season more memorable while making the map as a whole less, which for a four season long chapter is about all you can do really. Also previous chapters, while not using border changes had HUGE poi changes (C2 S3, C2 S4, C2 S6, C1 SX) so I personally think border changes are fine in this context
I think that maps should get changes because for example the chapter 5 map didn't get lots of changes at the north part since the beginning of the chapter besides the snow melting and now that they added these new poi's Doomstadt,Castle Doom and Doom's courtyard the north part of the map is more complete.
One thing I really dislike about new chapters is how the other PoIs feel abandoned after new biomes appear, with not even a single change outside of the new biome, like I really enjoy the PoIs when they arrive, but I know next season they will get abandoned, this is even worse with ch5 since medallions make people only drop in new PoIs. Ch1 had those season themed Changes to every corner, like the Moai heads, those red labs, floating platforms on season 9, growing crops in season 6... They werent the main atraction of the season but it made one more reason to return to old PoIs.
1 year chapters are bad in good in 2 ways. It keeps the game fresh and new but it's also really bad because you never get to play on that map ever again. Creating a certain player base that only likes that one map and doesn't enjoy playing the game as much because that map is gone But after learning about "Fortnite's Mission" I've viewed the game differently.
@@MrJayOWhy No it's adding Incredibly OP and easy to use items so noobs can get a win but that's basically it in a nutshell, it's the same reason they added mechs and cars and what not.
The map of this season is very well made. For that reason, I think a longer chapter would definitely suit this map. I can’t say the same for chapter 4 tho
Only semi related but I feel like the PoI's that had bosses turned out to be quite empty once the season was over, and they never really do anything with said poi, with the exception of Snooty Steppes. Although fencing fields and lavish lair got replaced, the olympus, underworld, and desert pois feel really empty now
I would love to see another full timed chapter, all the way from 1 to 10, blank canvas to pure chaos. thats why alot of people love chapter 1. to also make the POI's Iconic and give more memories. but I doubt epic will listen.
Fun Fact: Chapter 3 was supposed to have 8 seasons, Paradise being the last, but due to the fact that UEFN came with the new lighting and stuff, Epic wanted to make a new map to show off the new lighting.
6 seasons would be the best. Theres 6 good biomes so every season they could add 1 or 2 of these: -Grassy -Desert -Snow -Jungle -something different -another something different
2 year chapters are way better because it gives them way more time to experiment and change the game throughout the 8-10 seasons and when we do get a new chapter it actually feels fresh and exciting
honestly, i think its the opposite. if they had 2 years, they would have alot more time to focus on the quality of the updates instead of the quantity. ones fans notess the quality of the updates start to increase, they'll stop complaining, well the devoted ones atleast. oviously i get people want more fun shit in the game, but with the 3 new modes + reboot, i don't think that will happen if they dont sacrifice the quality. hints why some of the more fun times of fortnite like seasonal events have felt like the desert. there being over worked.
i feel like a fortnite map should have a major portion of the map be the same shape by the end and make the appearance of new POIs replacing old ones look realistic and not just "yea this is gone, no reason why, just deal with it"
We could, if the chapters were more flexible and overall interesting with both their maps and loot pools, rather than staying too stagnant and risking sticking with something that doesn’t work that well. If they’d just try more things, maybe try a similar update plan to how they used to do things back in the likes of chapter 1 with new content in small but often bursts rather than a million things at the start of a season, a big nerf, and not much else. If they’d change things up more, like they used to, both to keep things fresh and to try to make things overall funner, then longer chapters would probably be viable again.
I think season 9 of chapter 1 addressed this in a pretty good way with Neo Tilted and Mega Mall, reimagining locations everyone had grown to love with the theming and features of that season. It wasn't a totally new place, it felt familiar, but it was still new, both in location and features like the wind tunnels.
Yeah I kinda mentioned this to someone else in the comments about hazy hillside instead of completely getting rid of it incorporate it in to the pantheon
I feel like this is also exactly why they aren’t doing that? Because I remember back when season 9 launched, people *hated* neo tilted, and I’ve only now seen people saying they loved the place. I think they saw the response to neo tilted and thought ‘okay, so we shouldn’t rework old locations.’
I mean to be fair.. it matters the most to the story line.. also every map has the zero point so it’s kinda interesting to find out where it ends up being.
Personally my dream would be a map the size of 1 or 4, with the amount of updates hat was chapter 1 or 2 with the management of chapter 3's. Maybe chapters can be a year and a half and not a year because i do think year long chapters end up rushing the product and making the vibes feel worse and making people want more updates not because they want content but to distance themselves with the rushed and flawed aspects that come with the consiquences of rushing a chapter yearly. when chapter 4 season 3 came out with a biome that had more to be desired for and a lootpool that felt dysfunctional more people cared about getting away from chapter 4 because they hated it season 3 than they where caring about wanting to see what chapter 5 could provide (this type of talks happened before OG was even announced) and now were stuck in the same perdiciment post chapter 5 season 3. More people feel excited about OG and Chapter 6 not because of the possible new ways to play and content but because people where so not a fan of the gameplay that season that they just want to move on. That to me makes me want to see longer chapters happen because i think if epic devs arent rushed and had more flexibility to tell a bigger and better story we can reset outselves to the chapters 1-3 days
understand your point but they could have gone the chapter 1 route with chapter 3. I mean it was kinda all green mostly. Look at Jakus’ chapter 3 video, he literally fixed the storyline and provided so much potential if chapter 3 was complete. Also maybe i wouldn’t care if chapters 4 for seasons long nowadays if we still had real live events and all the seasons were on goated and chapter 3 and 4 (especially 4) were not goated
I miss chapter 4's vibrant graphics - chapter 5 looks too realistic and COD-like The good thing is: the new C5 Marvel POIs are really vibrant, like chapter 4's island :)
I think it won’t be a one year chapter this time. Because we went back in time chapter 5 is now a parallel to chapter 2. Season one not much happens, season two a faction war, season three apocalypse, season 4 marvel . So that means that next season is a chaos type season. My idea is that for the last 2 or 3 weeks of this season earthquakes start happening near the lake that contains the zero point and we are sent to research it while Jonesey and Hope deal with Doom stuff. We find that th earthquakes are coming from the water and jonesey realizes what’s happening but doesn’t wanna tell Hope because trust or something. He tells her eventually that the zero point is getting unstable but Doom finds out somehow and he plans on using the Zero point for something. We probably won’t get a live event because what would happen inside of it so imagine this is the trailer. Doom lifts the zero point out of the ground as cracks form around him from earthquakes. once the zero point is lifted it starts shooting out some kind of electricity that gets more violent as it stays there, eventually the lightning hits Doom or something and he is forced to let go but the zero point is left floating. The camera shows More of the island and it’s revealed that the Zero point wasn’t just releasing electricity, it was causing tornados and other storms to happen across the island too. giant tornado floats over to the sand and takes the biome with it, The Shark or whatever gets cast out into the sea intact but redline rig is crumbled into random pieces in the ocean. The camera moves to see the whole island with storms moving around it and the trailer ends. Week 1 changes: the shark thing is turned into a stationary island in the water with one of megalodon’s followers stranded on it as an NPC, some parts of the island are ruined especially the Doom place, the sand biome is gone, some parts of mt. Olympus are eroded, cracks with chests in them are scattered around the island, weather is added back with the addition of sand storms because of the sand biome being picked up and obviously the zero point is exposed. In the Week one quests it would be explained that after the initial burst of energy seen in the trailer the zero point calmed down a bit but still active and could have another outburst at any moment. Quests would revolve around trying to stabilize the zero point so that another won’t happen.
I would like longer chapters if only the map was good Every first season of a chapter had a simple map, and I think they shouldn't change drasticly the map between two seasons. I would love to see many small changes to the map than enormous changes that can make you hate a map you liked.
I honestly do not want longer chapters. I want more story for sure which 1 year chapters struggle with, but the issue is 2 year chapters can become very boring. I think the rumoured story mode could help with that though.
Simple answer is that the players won’t like it. It would be great to have more time with the maps but near the end of chapter 1 people complained about it in wanted a new map near the end of chapter 2 people complained in wanted something new or the old map back you don’t really see that complaint now. but also the longer chapters are the ones people seem to miss the most.
The only reason people are wanting updates and map changes etc. is because the map is so bad and we dont like the content. Long chapters are totally possible once epic puts more effort into each season. Maybe that’s a hot take i dont really know.
You are onto something, if we see a more completed map we know fortnite is doing a 4 season chapter and if its blank green (highly unlikely) we might get to see more than 4 seasons
i thought the map was ass from the jump, then the seasons were back to back straight ass, glad we see chapter 2 for a bit but im just ready for chapter 6 tbh
We need a bigger, simpler map, similar to chapter 2. Honestly, if you imagine chapter 3 going differently, it could have lasted 8 seasons. But this chapter? No, I agree. The game needs to add more new small locations around the map, rather than replacing a POI or 2 every season.
another problem with year long chapters is how repetitive the storyline gets,oh there's an impending doom every year and then new map gets made knowing it's going to go away in another disaster, and so on,2 year chapters atleast give you some time to take everything in and not having everything be so repetitive
I think it's just easier to remember the maps by the chapters, then you can remember the seasons by those major updates for example chapter 3 had the first season with Spider-Man gloves and then chapter 3 season 4 had the Chrome season, i can break it down between by the map itself.. then we had the tanks and then whatever else was there with the rock lol
fortnite chapters need to at least be 2 years long, maybe 1 and a half, just so they can flesh things out without things being SO rushed. because right now it feels like chapter 4 and chapter 3 flew by, and now knowing that chapter 5 is on its last season, it makes me feel angry because i loved this chapter, more than chapter 3 to be honest. (i hated chapter 4) and i feel like fortnite would benefit a lot if they made 2 year long chapters again because it gives them *time* to make the story not feel rushed, if a 6-8 season chapter had happened, i wouldnt be mad. because it gives epic games time to move the story along without it feeling rushed. TLDR - i wish fortnite would make chapters longer because it gives them time to flesh out the story without being rushed; a 6-8 season chapter would be good because its the perfect mix of time in my opinion, and i hate the fact that this chapter 5 season might be its last since i really liked it. sorry you had to read so much i just had to get my word in
No worries. If chapter five OG is anything like the previous, It should include the arc we on right now with hope. Even know it won’t be the chapter five map it should be the arc and story.
I feel like it would be cool if we stayed on one map but had big changes so it looks like a new map (like ship of Theseus) it wouldn't be better, but It'd be neat
Not if they're gonna continue having trash maps, weapons, unnecessary colabs, lack of original idenity and an uninteresting and sidelined storyline I say that because chapter 5 and partly 4 have been associated with all of this, and the community has faith that with the next refresh epic will do better
I think a concept for a season two on a bland map could just be more biomes and the poi’s are changed (Ex: Sandy steppes esc) so the map is very similar but it feel’s completely fresh at the same time
2 years is just no. Chapter 2 was so damn long everyone was itching for a new map at the end of it and frankly like most of the player base quit by the time the 5th season rolled around so what’s the point of 2 year season if everyone gets sick of it 1 year chapters are perfect
Of course, its really cool. I'm just stating that it does change the map more quickly. I don't think you can have changes like these and still have 2-year chapters-unless you don't care about ripping the heart out of the map And no, not the heart sitting in Doctor Doom's private room's fireplace. sorry johnny
In all honesty, the map is very messy and visually overwhelming. I've noticed a trend where seasons with a clean aesthetic tend to be more favored by the community.
they add a biome, with his features, the rest of the map always looks abbandoned, then after the season they remove everything interessing from that biome
I think they should make the maps a little bigger to have a little more space for future seasons and not make too much map changes just like chapter 5 season 3 desert biom almost changed half of the map
Also they should not make new bioms every season just like back in chapter 2 and 1 and if you remember in chapter 4 season 4 no new biom and that was a banger season
At this point its basically too late because epic cant do ANYTHING that isnt adding the chapter 1 map without 90% of the community crying that its bad.
hopefully not, I genuinely think good fortnite ended when we got the new animations in chapter 5 and the new graphics in chapter 4. I hate to sound like one of those people but FORTNITE IS FORTNITE NOT CALL OF DUTY SO IDK WHY THEY KEEP MAKING THE GAME MORE AND MORE REALISTIC AND HARDER TO RUN ON LOWER END HARDWARE.
Foolish they haven't considered 1½ year chapters yet, then we would have a new chapter every winter, then summer, then winter, and so on, making releases fresh
interesting concept
I think this is best scenario for Fortnite to go down it’s not too long like chapter 1 not too short like last few chapters
@@TheEpicGalaxy21 Honestly I don’t get how we can get 3-4 whole new poi’s a season and people still complain about a “lack of map changes”
I would rather chapter 6 start more similarly to chapter 2, where it starts kinda bland, but at the same time, it is also quite interesting, in my opinion, and then over time, we get changes over a longer amount of time.
i mean could happen
But people will complain that the season is boring

It’s truly impossible with the kids wanting updates.
Yet at the same time, this map has lacked ALOT of Color.
So I wouldn’t mind leaving it.
But. We also need time to enjoy and remember the map. And 1 year isn’t enough.

This map has a very good variety of color imo. I think you mean brightness, not color. As it’s very colorful, but the colors are very mellow.

I'd like 6-7 seasons per chapter. Just enough to let it grow, and not too much to make everyone bored
(This is before watching the video)
Edit: That's a very good point of the maps being exhausted, with no space for additions. I really hope chapter 6 is managed better, as chapter 2 had with the changes being added slowly, or being spaced like season 2
Thanks for the comment
Look someone’s always going to be unhappy what ever chapter 6 is 😁
The two years chapters were so much better it was more planned and gives epic more time to plan map changes and updates and events and i think it will make epic so less permanent experiments like this chapter just experimented too much and didn't kept anything old I liked the ch2 meta where the old things were kept and the new things were added every season it felt fresh and better and now yearly chapters will be just be there to introduce a new metaverse mode to get more hype for it
yeah can't help but think yearly chapters feel a bit cash grab for epic to get everyone back OVER CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS
But hey at least we have jakus’s video *What Fortnite Chapter 3 Could Have Been* about what chapter could have been if it was 8 seasons long
@@clonetrooper2003 Did you read my comment? I went into detail on how this was our fault, if you would’ve read it.
@@00pium_kingvampstan ok sheesh i did
Not sure if you know, but the reason chapter 3 was cut short was because Epic wanted to make a new map based around their Lumen and Nanite changes in UE5
@@TheRealSquidyYT I knew that, I js don’t doubt that the complaints also played a part in stopping the 8 season chapter.
Chapter 5's map is really good, but it is WAAAAAAY too empty, there is too many moments where i feel like the map is super flat or super uninteresting, especially the desert biom, i like that biom but it doesn't have anything going on with it, it's designed for THAT season only
Chapter 2 island is tge worst, unpopular opinion but for half the seasons it was garbage
Example- so instead in a hypothetical “C5 S5” we could see a lot of old pois replaced like reckless railways and grand glacier, which would take away form the island’s identity but then again I think it would be a hell of a lot easier to replace every location on the map and give us an 8 season chapter, rather then to keep bumping out new maps every year
Of course if your fine with it that’s okay 😊
The content Fortnite provides in a year is so good
i hope they make it like chapter 2 again, the pois on the season 1 map felt unique and different compared to the chapters after it, thats why it was able to retain it's pois, they were very good and they felt iconic
THIS 💯🔥
@MrJayOWhy I think they might consider Longer chapters when they get the story in the right place again we could have a great time with ch6 if they do it correctly and continue with what they are doing.
The New biome though must be that vibrancy you after ?
@@MrJayOWhy it still just feels very dead and diluted because of the colour palette. Although it’s an improvement it also makes the map look more unnatural and unappealing, the great thing about chapters 1-3’s maps were that they felt livable and like an island, they were genuinely fun places to explore and play on with interesting and unique locations, especially with the vibrant greens and sprawling biomes, along with a great tone throughout the chapters. chapters 4 and 5 have felt like a cobbled together mess with ugly colours and over saturated or under saturated tones, and boring or bad locations overall.
Finally I found someone with the same opinion and yea imo the Greek biomes changed too much and are really ass and the map alr feels too messy and lacks a feel all around
Also not every season needed to be a biome update that just used up the whole map too quickly
1st season: The introduction to the map with plenty vaccant areas for future updates
2nd season: less than 5 new "POI'S" to explore and not "Biomes" these POI's can also have bosses and vaults in them
3rd season: replace some older POI's (or newer POI's) for newer ones
Or maybe add an extra biome over vaccant space but not too big these can also be boss POI's
4th season: Huge monumental POI's that cover 30% of the map and is easily replaceable for more POI's
And if you wanna continue on theres still extra space
5th season: remove last season POI's and add a new biome replacing other biomes that were added
6th season: remove most map changes from other seasons and revert certain biomes back to how the season 1 map looked and then make changes to the way the season 1 POI's lookes
7th season: add landmarks ontop of hills and whatnot to really fill in any extra space on the map and add new POI's followintg the theme of the landmarks
8th season: bring in some type of Huge Boss lacation that ties into the storyline of the chapter that replaces some of the POI's
im really not sure how to continue from there so thats the end of what I could think of
I think they could have incorporated Hazy Hillside into that biome somehow.
@@MrJayOWhy Holy hillslide I guess lol
I feel like epic didnt exactly think when it came to yearly chapters, yes players wanted constant map changes, but like in chapter 1, excluding season x, do what that did and change current pois, like the nitrodome and underworld, change them
I am fed up of the fact that they keep making fortnite look like cod, its just not it. I wish ch1 and ch2 s1 graphics
Yeah if chapter 6 has the chapter 5 graphics and feels just like chapter 5 its not gonna do good so I hope fortnite is finnaly listening to the community
The fact that Fortnite now has to rely on marvel collaborations and nostalgia from past chapters just shows that they’re running out of ideas
There’s gonna be more of these nostalgia bait mini seasons in certain parts of the year not just November, so they can compensate for their financial losses and irrelevancy
@@extreme_3d97 what’s wrong with the graphics? It’s nice, vibrant, detailed, and colorful. Ain’t cod serious and dark?
I liked the c2 map
The solution to this problem
Is 6-7 season chapter
Have the first season map be normal
With small map change every week to some of the poi to keep thing fresh which is something the chapter 5 map lack and then bring 1 new poi mid season as mid season map change
Mid season and small map change was the best part of chapter 1 and 3
In season 2
Bring 4 poi no new biome so the poi look small on the map menu but big when your there best example of this is chapter 2 season 2
In season 3 you can finally bring a new biome to a corner of the map and change alot of the poi btw i mean change not remove or replaced
Also small map change every week should be for every season
Season 4 should do the season 2 formula i mentioned above except with a mid season new poi
Season 5 add a biome
And season 6 add a biome and mid map change
The problem with chapter 5 is the past season change lose its impact after the next season
There's no reason to keep going back to moint Olympus
There's no reason to go the underworld
And the medallion is part of the problem
They should be removed from the next chapter
Alot of chapter 5 map is poorly designed
It's too wide and empty
Also there should never be a new biome in middle of the map because if people dislike it it's gonna hurt the mao badly and make people want less of it
map changes every week is alot of work for epic games ngl but I also agree with what you said abou there being no reason to land at certain POI's like brawlers battleground or Mount olympus or Redline Rig and Nitrodome was especially nerfed in season 4 with the demanded removal of car mods.

Hazy hillside had a really good feel
Shame it was gone so quickly
Really true, it felt different to me and nice. Wish they kept it longer.@@MrJayOWhy
However, there’s evidence that hints towards what I'm suggesting. and shouldn't be dismissed quite quickly
Chapter 5, at best, is paying homage to elements of Chapter 2.
But what it has had is a clearer narrative
Involving multiple season with stuff like Pandora’s box, hopes story
And continuing the story doom left in zero war
They definitely should do what they did with chapter 2 next chapter because you still would recognize it but then a new season would happen with a new biome in the middle and you’d be like wow that’s really cool
feels like chapter 5 just started and now its gonna send soon smh
It’s been 9 months
In my opinion the 2 year chapters are ideal but since epic will sadly most likely never return I think border changes are okay. It makes each season more memorable while making the map as a whole less, which for a four season long chapter is about all you can do really. Also previous chapters, while not using border changes had HUGE poi changes (C2 S3, C2 S4, C2 S6, C1 SX) so I personally think border changes are fine in this context
We DESPERATELY need 2-year chapters, the last 3 maps have felt incredibly underbaked.
Creating a certain player base that only likes that one map and doesn't enjoy playing the game as much because that map is gone
But after learning about "Fortnite's Mission" I've viewed the game differently.
Is Fortnite's mission like Doctor Doom's, perfecting a 'perfect order'?
@@MrJayOWhy No it's adding Incredibly OP and easy to use items so noobs can get a win but that's basically it in a nutshell, it's the same reason they added mechs and cars and what not.
The map of this season is very well made. For that reason, I think a longer chapter would definitely suit this map. I can’t say the same for chapter 4 tho
You got weird taste bro. He really just shit on mega city? On the pink trees? The castle? Really bozo
Thank Jakus’s video for showing us what chapter 3 could have been
Only semi related but I feel like the PoI's that had bosses turned out to be quite empty once the season was over, and they never really do anything with said poi, with the exception of Snooty Steppes. Although fencing fields and lavish lair got replaced, the olympus, underworld, and desert pois feel really empty now
This is a issue with medallions, vaults , floating islands
oG was the only season were Fortnite just went
“Go play”
I would love to see another full timed chapter, all the way from 1 to 10, blank canvas to pure chaos. thats why alot of people love chapter 1. to also make the POI's Iconic and give more memories. but I doubt epic will listen.
Fun Fact: Chapter 3 was supposed to have 8 seasons, Paradise being the last, but due to the fact that UEFN came with the new lighting and stuff, Epic wanted to make a new map to show off the new lighting.
6 seasons would be the best. Theres 6 good biomes so every season they could add 1 or 2 of these:
-Grassy
-Desert
-Snow
-Jungle
-something different
-another something different
Fortnite are really over feeding us with the content
@@MrJayOWhy espesally when its not good content but just junk to keep people playing
Yeah I would agree.
A good example would be how Peter Griffin’s house has basically remained untouched this whole chapter.
It turned into sand.. plus there’s an avenger case spawn inside the house with a doom one with the npcs right outside it.
i feel like a fortnite map should have a major portion of the map be the same shape by the end and make the appearance of new POIs replacing old ones look realistic and not just "yea this is gone, no reason why, just deal with it"
Imo 4-5 seasons is all a chapter needs I’ve been playing since chapter 1 season 1 I like it because it keeps the game fresh
I think Fortnite should do 8 seasons again, just like chapter 2. Maybe in chapter 6
Fortnite ain’t giving the zero point a break 💀
@@clonetrooper2003 yeah chapter 5 and 4 are cooked
But I guess 3 had a couple of season more
Potential in it , I check it out
@@MrJayOWhy sweet. Its real good its called *What Fortnite Chapter 3 Could Have Been*
No, unless they have a huge mid chapter update. Ppl be getting bored by s3 and want the chapter to end every time
Yeah I think people calling for 2 years chapters
Be calling for year chapters again pretty quickly
i just want Holiday and two month long seasons
It goes down bye 2 seasons every chapter 😢
Why couldn't they just go back to what they used to do anyway? People were fine with how map changes were handled back then.
I miss chapter 4's vibrant graphics - chapter 5 looks too realistic and COD-like
The good thing is: the new C5 Marvel POIs are really vibrant, like chapter 4's island :)
I wish we had 2 year chapters still
better yet, why don’t they make a mode where you can relive old chapters like chapter 2, which was goated
I would like longer chapters if only the map was good
Every first season of a chapter had a simple map, and I think they shouldn't change drasticly the map between two seasons.
I would love to see many small changes to the map than enormous changes that can make you hate a map you liked.
I honestly do not want longer chapters.
I want more story for sure which 1 year chapters struggle with, but the issue is 2 year chapters can become very boring. I think the rumoured story mode could help with that though.
the open world that keeps getting slightly update every so often 😮
i feel like you could remove the idea of chapters completely and just overlap different pois each season to keep people with more map changes
Yeah it’s a real catch 22
I hope chapter 5 doesn't last long, just end it already
The only reason people are wanting updates and map changes etc. is because the map is so bad and we dont like the content. Long chapters are totally possible once epic puts more effort into each season. Maybe that’s a hot take i dont really know.
your saying epic hasn't put the effort in this chapter?
You are onto something, if we see a more completed map we know fortnite is doing a 4 season chapter and if its blank green (highly unlikely) we might get to see more than 4 seasons
i think the community would scream if we got a chapter 1 or 2 style start map 😬
I just want snowy mountains alongside the green grass and I'll be all for that kind of map as a start!
@@Bukwheat Real, it was something Chapter 5 did but they added to many poi's
I agree!! Two year chapters would be nice!!
But is it possible given the new for consistent map changes 😩
With the dog shit chapters and maps they’ve been putting out at this point it’s becoming a better option
i thought the map was ass from the jump, then the seasons were back to back straight ass, glad we see chapter 2 for a bit but im just ready for chapter 6 tbh
Fair enough
We need a bigger, simpler map, similar to chapter 2. Honestly, if you imagine chapter 3 going differently, it could have lasted 8 seasons. But this chapter? No, I agree. The game needs to add more new small locations around the map, rather than replacing a POI or 2 every season.
another problem with year long chapters is how repetitive the storyline gets,oh there's an impending doom every year and then new map gets made knowing it's going to go away in another disaster, and so on,2 year chapters atleast give you some time to take everything in and not having everything be so repetitive
Interesting take.. how did chapter 2 and in fact chapter 3 last so long
If we followed 2 year chapters we would currently be in Chapter 4 Season 4
That’s crazy that next season is chapter 2
I think it's just easier to remember the maps by the chapters, then you can remember the seasons by those major updates for example chapter 3 had the first season with Spider-Man gloves and then chapter 3 season 4 had the Chrome season, i can break it down between by the map itself.. then we had the tanks and then whatever else was there with the rock lol
2 year chapters are bad if we get another bad chapter like this one for it to last 2 years would be absurd
they could've just do like season 4,5,6 in chapter 2, add pois and remove them after the season ended
i hated that back then but compared to these days with all these useless old boss locations yeah i agree
4:29 what’s the song?
No. That would be a bad idea. Statistically season die out after 90 days.
Yeah.. every season lasts like 90 days.. so you’re agreeing with him.
I reckon 6 season chapters would be good
fortnite chapters need to at least be 2 years long, maybe 1 and a half, just so they can flesh things out without things being SO rushed. because right now it feels like chapter 4 and chapter 3 flew by, and now knowing that chapter 5 is on its last season, it makes me feel angry because i loved this chapter, more than chapter 3 to be honest.
TLDR - i wish fortnite would make chapters longer because it gives them time to flesh out the story without being rushed; a 6-8 season chapter would be good because its the perfect mix of time in my opinion, and i hate the fact that this chapter 5 season might be its last since i really liked it.
sorry you had to read so much i just had to get my word in
No worries.
If chapter five OG is anything like the previous,
It should include the arc we on right now with hope.
Even know it won’t be the chapter five map it should be the arc and story.
I feel like it would be cool if we stayed on one map but had big changes so it looks like a new map (like ship of Theseus) it wouldn't be better, but It'd be neat
i think reload could be that..
Not if they're gonna continue having trash maps, weapons, unnecessary colabs, lack of original idenity and an uninteresting and sidelined storyline
I say that because chapter 5 and partly 4 have been associated with all of this, and the community has faith that with the next refresh epic will do better
I think a concept for a season two on a bland map could just be more biomes and the poi’s are changed (Ex: Sandy steppes esc) so the map is very similar but it feel’s completely fresh at the same time
Sandy steepes, restored reels, shipwreck shallow, dooms court.
@@pokechespingames9084 Exactly!
I feel like I may be one of the only people who can say that I know I will miss this chapter, I have enjoyed it a lot lol
Tbh it’s had its moments
It's like the ship of Thesis.
2 years is just no. Chapter 2 was so damn long everyone was itching for a new map at the end of it and frankly like most of the player base quit by the time the 5th season rolled around so what’s the point of 2 year season if everyone gets sick of it 1 year chapters are perfect
I want ch 6 too be about saving the seven from the last reality
The idea of ADDING biomes each season is super unique, pretty cool honestly.
Of course, its really cool. I'm just stating that it does change the map more quickly. I don't think you can have changes like these and still have 2-year chapters-unless you don't care about ripping the heart out of the map
And no, not the heart sitting in Doctor Doom's private room's fireplace. sorry johnny
Also they should not make new bioms every season just like back in chapter 2 and 1 and if you remember in chapter 4 season 4 no new biom and that was a banger season
but chapter one had way more updates than chapter 5 ever did
New Chapter every year is good cry everyone
1 year long chapters will be the downfall of Fortnite bro.
Like Chapter 3 and 4 could have been SO MUCH BETTER if they were combined into one chapter.
I think 6 seasons is good 👍
Make each season have big 2 POI's and have it change other ones in little ways.
what was that app you used in the beggining to show the map changes
@@fje_grg Fortnite . GG then find map evaluation
What website were you using when looking at the maps?
@@FreddyxPlays Fortnite gg and than map evaluation

At this point its basically too late because epic cant do ANYTHING that isnt adding the chapter 1 map without 90% of the community crying that its bad.
Dooms poi and biome are really good 😃 be a shame if we only get it for 2 months 💀
@@MrJayOWhy its almost as if the season is only 2 months long 😱😱😱

hopefully not, I genuinely think good fortnite ended when we got the new animations in chapter 5 and the new graphics in chapter 4. I hate to sound like one of those people but FORTNITE IS FORTNITE NOT CALL OF DUTY SO IDK WHY THEY KEEP MAKING THE GAME MORE AND MORE REALISTIC AND HARDER TO RUN ON LOWER END HARDWARE.
I don’t mind the animation but the graphics maybe something we agree on
i swear to god if we got 1+ year of chapter 5 i would go insane this chapter is dogshit.
Yeah how do we get attached to a map if we don't even get a year with it?
Ch2 only had 8 seasons because tons of delays with season 2 and season 3 as ch2 would be 3 years and ch3 was supposed to be more than 4 seasons
Do you think they could do customisable chapter maps in creative with selectable seasons
Hmm don’t see why not probably a bit of time of
