      @@jdsheleg8332 you dont seem to know that there are quite a bit of cultural problems between japan and china and thats why it is worth mentioning. there are chinese descendand groups in japan which have a separate, degradory name and are generally shunned. At the same time when you read chinese Lightnovels and they have japanese factions/characters inside they always get portraid as scum, rapists, liars, cowards and backstabbers (basically how they are depicted in this movie). And chinese stuff is heavily controlled by chinese gvnmt. I remember a chinese LN with over 2400chapters that is not allowed to be continued bc the setting COULD be interpreted as not hailing chinese mentality/culture over every other culture. There is no such thing as an enemy country. Conflicts are created by the Imperialist powers to "divide and conquer". If you've learned the "real history" and not the "winners version of history", you will know humans in spite of differences can get along. That is, until European and Anglo American Colonialism and Imperialism crashed the Human Party. Liberalism and Fascism are opposite arms of the same body which serves Imperialism.

      he didn't want to use his kung-fu as a homage to his master so he banned it and used this more western "boxing style" which was most likely a homage to bruce lee at the same time. The only reason this is not the BEST kung fu flick of all time is because it is such an homage to the greatest films of the past. (including the one it is remaking, which is also one of the best ever made). I think it is very deliberately a love letter to golden age kung fu movies, particularly the outrageous fight with his father in law, where they basically demonstrate at least a dozen different fighting styles.
    And although it may not be the best, it will always be my favourtie.

    when dudes start flying, it qualifies as wuxia in my book.. nobody can do that kick unless they have a wire at the waist, which he had, because theres behind the scenes footage of it, which, isn't a bad thing, even jackie chan used the wire, only difference is he didn't use it to fly during a fight. He would usually use the wire to make the bad guys fly into a pile of boxes after being kicked.

      It's something I noticed as a kid when I watched Bruce Lee movies for the first time. Here I was, expecting a lot of highly choregraphed, dance-like kicks and dodges and fancy arm movements to block or misdirect attacks, like I was used to from old Kung-fu movies. And instead most of the time, Bruce just punched dudes in the face. To be fair, he punched them in the face really REALLY fast.

    I saw Jet Li, Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins when they were filming a Danny the Dog (also called Unleashed) scene literally across the road from my house. I remember they were making fake rain and I had a wee chuckle...I mean this IS Glasgow. It WILL rain soon...very soon. Still, great to see these legends in real life.

  • @adamreadio9004

    Why were certain parts sped up? Being able to see the fight evolve and track their moves is better than making it look fake-fast.

    • @zenaku4
      @zenaku4 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Because this is a movie and all choreos are for the sake of aesthetics,.not realism. I mean, if someone could punch concrete like that chinese guy. Then that one punch alone is enough to break Jet Li bones,.😅
