I would very much love to see a Warhammer Dark Omen style game with simple graphics and animations with multiple armies, campaigns, huge customisation options and a skirmish mode against AI. Basically a Dark Omen successor using similar graphics and gameplay mechanics. And don't tell me it's Total War Warhammer.

Yes, please. I'm all here for a Dark Omen remake, as long as they keep the original graphics and gameplay style. One of the best games I've ever played. And man, would it be great if we could pick armies from the whole warhammer army roster. I would play that game till the end of times.

This is one of the best things I have ever seen! I taught my friends and I to play Warhammer and 40k back in the day using poker chips and index cards, so this is right up my alley

for people new to this game its pretty much old school fantasy but lite its really good for a free game personally i wish the single player rouge lite aspect would be longer than 2 stages but the game is fun and the multiplayer is also small but fun
I like music. Brings this old school dark fantasy vibes. Adding simple overhead sprites instead of squares might make it so much better. I meat come on there are so many generic overhead fantasy sprites.

Does anyone know if you can move your hero to another unit. I played as the wizard and bought some foot knights, he ended up in that unit. It really does not work well...

Quite a fun little game, but having tried it out after this watch your video, I gotta say it really lacks some more options for when your units get charged. Namely a 'stand and shoot' or to flee rather than just eat the charge.
Also panic tests for units getting pelted with ranged/artillery fire. You made a ranged focused army work very well, but man I struggled to replicate that.
I am pretty sure it's named "Soul". Mixing u and v is such a fantasy thing...

not loving that you have to pay for each faction personally, but it being "free to play" is a consolation at least
Only half of the factions require you to pay to play as them. The rest are free in their entirety.

I'd be very surprised. You can't copyright boardgame rules, and every faction is here a generic fantasy trope. Mantic would have been sued into the dirt by now otherwise. This is perfectly legal and it's better for creatives and consumers everywhere that such broad strokes as these can't be owned by a single company.
Yeah, Imperial humans is just how every fantasy human race works, and they specifically didn’t name the undead after a Gothic novel character, so…

What factions are included for free? Was having trouble figuring it out, I do think the dlcs are a bit much since its per faction and you only get 10? units per faction. I think £2.50/£2.99 would be better, just due to the amount of paid factions.
Show us the other factions mate. And more leveled up content.

There’s everything wrong with AI art, actually. Though in this case I don’t care about its inclusion - it’s not being used in place of hiring an artist. It’s a single dev using AI to pad out their incredibly tiny offering of art in a largely artless project, not some giant corporation who is using it to skimp on staff. If giant companies are doing it and it’s somehow legal then we should be cool with indies doing it for the sake of making new and exciting experiences. If the game looks a little better thanks to its use then maybe they’ll afford to hire an artist for their next title. This game is basically proof that AI art is not a replacement for a real artist; the game looks like crap, and I say that lovingly.
@@gregbackas987 The DLC costs money and use AI art. That's my issue. I'm never going to pay money for something that uses AI art
@@JanetOnOccasion Agreed, most of the unit art is quite bad. Thankfully the battle map is the main draw
I played it for about 4-5 hrs. Honestly I got pretty bored pretty quickly
That whole paid DLC and AI artwork thing is a no-go for me. Also, the retreat rules are bunk as hell. Otherwise, this was just about my dream strategy game.
What part of the retreat rules do you dislike?
@@Petterwass In my opinion I think the retreat rules as they are written would be better suited to a larger game size with more regimented lines, say like 2000. Right now the yoyo system can create a lot of bizarre scenarios as things retreat and rally and push other bases around. Also, I dislike how a broken unit can get recharged (from the rear no less), win the combat somehow and rout the unit chasing them down. In smaller rank and file games like this presents as breaks, retreats and overruns are a lot more definitive.
Isnt the game still in development? Having some things locked via dlc while the is free isnt something i personally am bothered about. I still didnt but any dlc because, since its free, i want to see if i like the game enough to do so. About the ai... Yeah... Im a bit dumb to see if it is ai or not so...
@@AzoiatheCobra It isn't about the dlc or locked content. It is about selling AI art. Which is trained on the work real people do. It is theft.

I wish they were a bit more original, when i saw Goatmen raiders meh, i honestly prefer they werent just a warhammer but without copyright. Game itself looks great mechanically. But yeah the uninspiring copying and basic ai art is a huge blegh moment
This game seems (at least sometimes) to use xcom logic regarding saves/hits etc... I would feel personally insulted after a fight like 30:30. Too much random luck. Feels more like gambling than having tactical gameplay.
That's the price you accept when playing a game that uses some amount of randomness, such as dice. No different from a tabletop game really.
@@Petterwass Yes i am aware of that. I just prefer when a game can't screw you though you play tactically smart and pull all the "right" moves.
