There's been a few comments really digging into the fact that I am just bullying Hamlet because he is an 'ugly villager'. I'm going to make clear that we played this stream up extremely, I don't hate hamlet. I am just not particularly fond of the jock personality. My favourite villager so far is a 'ugly villager' by peoples standards and that is Charlise because sometimes you just find your favourite villager purely by coincidence with the way they treat you at the right moment.
It's also by reality that I get to choose who is on my island and we furthered this joke for a more entertaining stream. I hope this clears up come confusion

Instead of bullying the hell out of Hamlet, try socializing the hell out of him. From what I can tell, Animal Crossing tries to move Villagers out depending on how much you're with them. That would explain why people's favorite villagers constantly volunteer to move.
Yes! You should only talk to your villagers 2-3 times a day I find is the sweet spot. No matter how badly you want to constantly pester your lovely villagers.
i see, instead of isolating them to the far corners of the map and hitting them with a net for 2 hours i must talk to them so much i make them uncomfortable
naw, not talking to them raises their neglect, giving them a higher chance of getting it. although ur best bet is to just ignore the thought bubble until it transfers onto the villager you want kicked out. if you dont talk to a vikkager with a thought bubble itll transfer onto someone else the next day. villagers cant leave unless you talk to them and tell them its okay, so ignoring the thought bubble wont make them leave.
Its random. Can confirm. Had not talked to drago since he moved. Few more tts later and i got him out. You just have to be patient with rng.

the fish in the river stream are different than the ones in the ponds, it says in the critterpedia and you can see where it was caught

just a tip for the future: if you want a villager to leave, do NOT interact with them in ANY way, dont even beat them up with a net. if you completely ignore them, theyll soon move out. only talk to them when they have the think bubble above them to tell them to gtfo
I saw Lopez and I felt a twinge of sadness. He was one of my starting villagers in New Leaf and he always made me laugh hysterically. "Lucille, help me out? I'm desperate! UHM, FOR FURNITURE I MEAN" was something he kept telling me and I lost it everytime.
Sadly I traded in my copy of New Leaf before the Welcome Amiibo update launched, but hey I have the memories at least!

Try the 15 day method, here is the steps:
1.Talk to 4-5 villagers you like. Do this on a day you haven’t talked to anyone yet.
2. Move up 15 days. Keep track of when the first day was
3. Check for bubbles: if you like that person than tell them no. If it’s them say yes.
Bonus step: If no one has a bubble than move a day up, it’s likely they will have a bubble eventually.
