Thanks for the video! Was super helpful walkthrough and explanation of how to change command prompt on the terminal. I've been looking for a comprehensive video for a while and this was pretty great. If you had another step further, as far as how to add a more designed highlight etc, and maybe even icons, that would be awesome! Great work though!
@@CodingWithAdam Thank you! I couldn’t find it on HomeBrew settings. But I found this video extremely helpful and straight to the point. Thank you for sharing, keep up the great job!
This was great! I'm curious as to how you would go about customizing actual command colors and underlining. For instance ping could be underlined and a different color than other commands. I noticed that when I switched to zsh from bash that all of my commands are just straight white or green depending on the theme I select.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. That’s a really great question. I’m not sure how individual commands could be themed. I have not used this yet but hear oh my zsh takes customization to another level. ohmyz.sh/
Hi! Thanks for ur video. I only have one question, do u know if we can change the color of an executed program on the terminal? Sorry if my question isnt clear or dumb, im just starting!!
Thank you for the suggestion. For font style I have normally just changed it globally in the preferences of the terminal. I’m not sure if ps1 or prompt have an option for font you can however underline bold etc parts of the prompt text
It depends on the shell you are using. These are the instructions for Mac support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/terminal/trmltxt/mac#:~:text=Use%20Text%20settings%20in%20Terminal,a%20profile%2C%20then%20click%20Text.
Thank you for the Video !! Even though I failed to go through it all... The "visual studio code" is not working on my computer, I do not manadge to open the .zshrc file... Is there any prior stuff to do in order to be able to use the code command? Thank in advance
You're welcome. Glad you got it working. To use the code command at the terminal you need to install the shell commands. Here are the instructions for mac but very similar on windows. code.visualstudio.com/docs/setup/mac#_launching-from-the-command-line

3:44 the "changing tilda to "HOME"" didn't work for me... does anyone know how to change "~" symbol to "HOME" or is this not a possibility?
