Hadn't I watched this film, I would have never known how brilliant actors Varun and Alia are. I have always hated them for being starkids and I always thought of them as talentless. But I was so so wrong!! Definitely Kalank is one of the bestest films of Varun and Alia in their career.

I am from Lahore I watched this movie and it was absolutely Perfect depiction of Lahore and heera Mandi. The Urdu was perfect, the subtle slowness of dialogue was exactly the way of the olden days. Absolutely correct and beautiful... This film would have been a huge hit in Pakistan... I wish it had released here, what a shame.. and the situations and dialogues were so realllllll!!!! The character Zafer was so real and convincing... An excellent gem of a movie.. it should be edited out for the songs and a shorter version should be released at film festivals, it was a true gem of a film for serious cinema goers.. India has to take it to film festivals!!! This is a work of ART and heart!
