still a bit scuffed in some parts, but check out them alto horns, brah! I promise the NEXT thing I upload will be a finished, multi-movement piece Dedicated to / @richard.atkinson
This is a really lovely movement! First of all C major is a amazing key for the orchestra, but i really appreciate the bow towards Haydn and Mozart and other composers writing at the peak of XIXth century. The development is intriguing and i like how the themes intermingle, though its of Haydnesque proportions with the repeated recapitulation that im not sure if is needed due to the very clear different characteristic of the themes, but im used to larger proportions and im a music nerd So that also explains. Concluding, please try to finish this C major symphony because the first movement is very engaging energetic and inviting for more to come!
Absolutely extraordinary work here, wow!! By far the most compelling pastiche you’ve written so far! I’m very glad I subscribed to you ages ago because your work has improved an insane amount. This work gets very very near to that of Matthew Whitehouse’s pastiches, and they are THE best classical era pastiches in the world I’d say. I really think you’re the second best in the world at this!! 👏👏👏
Love the lunge into the parallel minor at measure 27! The 2nd part of the development is particularly fine, as are the adjustments to both theme-groups during the recapitulation. Very enjoyable 1st movement!
Thank you so much for listening, David! I know you appreciate all the little tricks I like to play ;) Right now, I'm working on the second movement, which will be a double variation in F major/minor
I bet this would fool a lot of people into thinking this was rediscovered lost Symphony by Haydn!
Absolutely agreed!
Really nice! As someone already said, lots of Haydn vibes here.

OK, this sounds great!! Love the development here, looking forward to the next movement.
