Always a good time with another upload! I appreciate you brother. Funny aside, i had a guy tell me my services were useless because he did a DIY method with deet and clearcoat. Im expecting a call back in a couple weeks 😂
Yes some people are ignorant and unintelligent.. most normal people know that this shit will not work....lol
And they're willing to have the vehicle was jacked up looking like anyways so they just talk shit and know 100% that it's lies or the wrong thing..
Headlight pro, totally agree, proof is in the pudding as u show, that vapor coat was a total disappointment, but the 3M stood out. Keep doing what your doing, u got it, and I’m a follower, thanks.
Yeah I had high hopes for this vapor... But it is 100% fool's gold as I suspected.. even from the beginning it was way too thin to be an adequate coating..
Polimerisation is only for smoothing out plastic. Just like polishing.
You need to protect it, with ceramic coating or something simmilar.
There js a polimerisation kits that garantee 3 years, but I have no idea what they put in liquid.
I always recomend to put aome UV protection over it.
Yeah I'm just going off of what the kids say they say do not put anything on it... They say nothing else is needed..
And I'm also going off the fact that I did code it with two different headlight coatings the 3M wipe and the Maguire's keep clear that I both have used hundreds of times and thousands of times on different headlights and both lights came out looking like shit after application as you see 130 videos now streaming on TH-cam my coating is flawless...
Maybe you should watch the first video as this is the second....
@@theheadlightrestorationpro I watched it already. I coated it with sonax uv headlight protection after polimerisation, and 10 months without problems for now, but I need to re-aply sonax soon.
@JeZZGro 👍🏽
Thx so much for the info update! Rarely do any other sites do follow-ups. Just another thing that sets you apart!
Thank you appreciate it I try to be thorough as possible.... Thank you I like to show people the timeline of events and how things unfold especially if it's a negative outcome..... That way we can all Dodge land mines..lol
Hello! what is your #1 choice product to use in place of the 3m lens polish?
th-cam.com/video/bX1jeS29Ei0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RBRAdLMmztUiSI_G
I've been learning so much from your videos. I've already ordered a bunch of supplies, mostly on Amazon, and am about to get a headlight restoration side gig up and running in the next few weeks. Thank you so much for all the valuable info.
Awesome..... really appreciate you watching and soaking it up...
Don't forget there is always these videos here that will help and continue to keep you and your skills turned...
And you never know...This can become your full time gig....💯🤓
@@theheadlightrestorationpro I really like the videos. When I've already finished the polishing and the lens is like the factory condition, then I think the levelless nitro varnish is necessary, and it can last up to ten years, right?
@carolina-smith what ? Never heard of that product
@@theheadlightrestorationpro General levelless lacquer paint for wood, metal and plastic, the solvent is nitro thinner.
At the end, can I paint with a nitro-based levelless varnish?
@carolina-smith no I would advise using anything that's not specifically designed for headlights... That's a big no no... Just because it's clear does not mean you can go on a headlight..
Hey boss, just a question, have you tested the vapor method topping on with the Meguiars clear coat? I am curious of how it will turn out and how long it will hold.
Actually did on another light and it did not look correct at all.... It was very hazy.. either because the layering or because the chemicals don't mesh..
What other clear coat have you tried? I’m currently using hbc and headlight doctor.
I've tried hella.... But no need to use anything inferior once I found the McGuire's nothing is as good as to McGuire's.... For like two dozen reasons...
I've used a headlight doctor, bunch of different kinds of 2K clears, bunch of different type of wipes, acrylic, etc .. NOTHING COMPARES TO MAGUIRE'S BY FAR....
Although they are coming out with so much new stuff I generally have learned it's best to stick to named Brand ..💯
Did you ever see Crystal Fusion used for windshields? It consisted of dealerships charging the heck out of the service to sand down the windshield and then cover with a clear shellac varnish, would anything like that work? Or do you think the clear shellac would still turn yellow? Thanks!
No wouldn't work....not designed for headlights....you have to use what's designed for the job and purpose.
Thanks so much. Unreal I needed this video forever
I got an old Subaru Forester that had 20 years of sunbaked headlights that were completely opaque and yellow. I finally decided to clean them this weekend and found that the least abrasive and way more expensive Sensodyne toothpaste worked better than cheap-ass Ultrabrite (which does work better at keeping my teeth clean). I then sprayed them with Rustoleam glossy clear coat spray. After watching your stuff I ordered me a kit to use with my drill and am going to sand these suckers down. Wish I hadn't sprayed 3 layers of that clear coat spray on them already. Oh well. Thanks for your videos!
Great video. Saved me time and money! Would enjoy you doing a series on minor paint/bumper touch ups.
It will be in the work soon...👍🏽
OMG I was waiting so bad on this vid 🔥
Thank you....I was very disappointed in this because they looked so good when done ...
What if you put a ceramic coating over the light after doing the vapour ?
they vapor kit is a smoothing kit, not a uv coating kit. All it does is smooths oht the poly ypu still need to coat the light with a uv stable clear
Yeah and it looks like crap when you do coat over it... 💩💩💩💩
@theheadlightrestorationpro I've never dine it for head lights but for 3d prints, it works wonders
@lotuseater92 👍🏽
I don’t remember if you put a clear coat on it?
You mentioned ceramic coating at the end. I've used it on taillights before after hand polishing (before I found your video, don't yell at me 😭) and it looks amazing each time. Have you done a video yet putting that on headlights after sanding/polishing?
Not really because ceramic coating is inferior and inefficient... For headlights it's not meant for headlights.. closest video I've done is headlight coating testing..th-cam.com/video/k8_ljUVQfvo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nIGioYUjVvCftWvC
@@theheadlightrestorationpro 🙌🏼 I'll check it out
@RazoE 👍🏽
Men and business people need to watch this video teaching for free and learning every time one video comment out thank you
🙏🏽👨🔬 hell yeah...thank you...👍🏽
That vapor does work just sand it from 180 to 2000 for 15 minutes each I just used it on my head light lens just take your time
You don't need to go that low on sand paper, only if it has old clear coat, it doesn't work on clear coat. You can go 600, 800, 1500 and 2000 and you will get crystal clear headlights. The only question is how long it will last, this method is only a few years old, but I've seen people who said even after 2 years it still lasts. I think it depends how often you wash your car and if it stays long time facing the sun.
He must not watch the video or comprehend that there's another video where I did it perfectly and I came out perfectly... This is 5 months of self exposure.. so you just haven't got to the point where it fails on you it looks perfect when you first do it..
Yeah I was shocked that in this video and in the other video and being made and when I first did it it was extremely perfect and 5 minutes later it just got ate to shit by the Sun.. like I said the video 5 months is unacceptable... But like I said just sitting in the sun is not that true test it's a major indicator though when working with applications on a vehicle there's a lot of other aspects involved..
@@theheadlightrestorationpro how many cars can I do with a can of Meguiars headlight restoration? I watched a lot of your work and I like it a lot. Thanks in advance
@petreticu6008 on average from 3 to 5 vehicles.
HR Pro, if you don't mind me asking, have you tested those MF cloths or paper towels soaked in pure acetone used for merely wiping off the damage? Surely they bring same results!?
See there's a huge issue with that.. using chemical stuff to remove things on headlights is very very risky because you got to think it's a type of clear coat and clear coat is similar to pain they're like cousins... So one little mistake one little drop onto your paint that You Don't See or don't get to or if it goes underneath the tape like water does sometimes and sits there you have somebody's paint ate up all the way around their headlight or drips... Then what do you do they have brand new headlights but the clear coat is damaged and destroyed...
Very dangerous to use any kind of chemical agent while the headlights are on the vehicle even when they're not you have rubber components and seals on the headlight that can be compromised...
@@theheadlightrestorationpro Right. But putting that risk aside (and I would maybe do it on my 14 year old car), does acetone wiping give instant results which fade away in months like this vapor? Also the vapor process you did could be dangerous if it's done in cold weather, because vapor would turn into mist which would also destroy paint.
@igorpotocnik7231 👍🏽
For vapor is better to use 4h or 5h liquid vapor , not the cheapest come usualy in kit
Also if you need a ceramic i work with a french ceramic made by a french chimiste is a little companie the name is FUSIOCOAT and they do a ceramic called TRIM compatible with headlight and metal with long durability as 3 to 6 years , i know the guy who made it .
Also Ultimate ceramic for cars with permanent durability . Is bond to the of the clear coat . This is what i use on my cars also on my customer
Is a VOC free ceramic can use without mask
👍🏽
homie got his CarPro IronX just sitting on the shelf there like a ticking time bomb 😭
I had to quarantine my IronX bottle in it's own ziplock bag to make it stop stinking the immediate vicinity in my basement.
What is this... I don't think that's there...
Good to know about that vapor method! Some people here do it and tell the customers it will work for a year! In DR! 🤣🤣🤣 Just to sell. No responsability at all.
A lot of people would rather lie and make some money and deal with the consequences later and it just frustrates the shit out of me I don't understand why when there's other things you can do...
@@theheadlightrestorationpro I understand you totally and agree fully! They just fill some good innocent people with their 'jada-jada" that has very little to do with the truth and honesty. I rather speak less and let the results talk, even if that would mean I could lose some customers that like to get their ears filled with fancy words! I am so happy to see we are very much alike in that sense! Keep up the good work please! 💪
@iderik01 👍🏽🤓💯
6 months later this'll look like crap and need redoing
Exactly... it's fool's Gold...not worth it as a business or individual...💯
Just wax your headlights once a month. Try it.
Just use the vapor again that's all
It's not cost nor labor effective to do it every few months. Like HR Pro said everything yielding under 12 or 13 months is useless.
Yeah but who wants to do that every 4 months.... And if you did not send down the surface it would be very distorted and wouldn't come out the same... Should probably watch the first video...
Exactly 💯
No one wants to do their headlights every 4 months... Also if it was just coating that would be one thing but it's actually damaged polycarbonate which means you have to send it down or you won't get clarity it would just be covering a blurry mess with clear...
