Nothing better than discovering another spot in the garden to fill. It's like finding more closet space, right?

The viburnum looks 💯 better! It lifts that entire corner and lets in all the ‘good vibe’ energy: sunlight, air flow, room to expand, possibility, positivity, beauty, and balance. What a difference that corner will see!

I agree! I’m kind of excited about the potential of the space now.

The snowball virburnum looks really good trimmed up. Hopefully you'll get some blooms from it now.

For a wonderful garden tour today did a beautiful job and shared how you got that plant to grow up on that support. Thanks so much, my dear friend.

That makes a ton of difference! I really need to trim up my crepe myrtles to give them more of a tree shape, instead of a bush. Love the Joe Pye weed! That will really fill in that space. It’s always nice to expand your planing space. More flowers, less grass. 😁 Good job!

Good morning. Wow what difference to a corner of the yard. That Virburnum is a lot different now that you made into more of a tree. Fingers crossed that it will bloom for you now. I too am looking for a Joe Pye Weed for my area of western coast of Canada. I know that I am trying to grow more native plants so that I can help keep all the beneficial pollinators that are for my area and keep the plants from going bye bye due to all the urban building going on. Enjoy the rest of your day and have a project off your list.

I have a Chicago Lustre viburnum that last year was covered in blooms and produced a ton of berries. This year, I had under a dozen blooms. I have a Blue Muffin viburnum nearby which is supposed to pollinate the Chicago Lustre. The Blue Muffin had all the blooms this year.
I too, limbed up the virburnum but not quite as much. You're very brave. I'll be anxious to see how it helps next spring. I do wonder a little about whether the mild winter played a part.

My viburnum has never bloomed either. It’s in a container and has leaves. I’ve added fertilizer every year but couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t bloom. I’m going to limb it up and see. Thanks for the advice

The Viburnum looks great trimmed up. I’m wondering if fertilizing will help it to bloom. Also maybe adding some rich soil around it may help. ☺️

I'm in zone 5 and I had the same issue with my hydrangeas not blooming. I used holly-tone and a liquid fertilizer last year and this year I have tons of blooms. I was shocked. We have tons of virburnums in our area that bloom. I wonder if some of them need more cold stratification to bloom. Just a thought! Good Luck!

I have some viburnum in the sun that really had a good blooming season this year and my other viburnums are mainly in the shade ,barely bloomed.at all.
Maybe the amount of hours in the sun?
Also off topic but on the side where you have your raised metal beds you have a arching metal trellis. Can you please let me know where you got this or what it is called. Thank you so much!

The arches are made out of cattle panels that I cut down to be thinner.

I have two different types of hydrangea that don’t bloom. One use to bloom for years now hasn’t for about five years the other has never bloomed and I’ve had it about ten years. 😢 I keep saying I’m going to give up and get rid of.

    • @shesamadgardener

There are so many factors…. But the most important thing is to know the variety of hydrangea and then research what it needs!

Mine is a Japanese Snowball but there is also Chinese snowball and common snowball that are seen quite frequently.

  • @antonianovoa6416
    @antonianovoa6416 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Here is what I got on my google search: "Snowball bush tolerates a range of light levels. The shrub stays healthy in full sun to part shade, but sunlight influences blooms. Too much shade means few or no blooms. If your snowball bush is planted in a shaded location, this may be why it won't flower. Slightly acidic soil pH frees up those nutrients the shrub needs to thrive.

Hmm, it gets sun pretty much all day … some shade in the morning but full on west sun the rest of the day.
