My little dog choked on a piece of burger that my little one gave him. His tongue was blue and his eyes were closing. I quickly googled "how to help a choking dog" and this was one of the first links that came up. I have to quickly skip to the important part as time was ticking and luckily we used the instructions and managed to clear the blockage. Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you so much for this video. I am a new dog owner and a couple of months ago, I randomly researched 'what to do when my dog is chocking'. Today, what I learned from this video saved my little puppy's life.
That's so great to hear. Thanks Cinzia for the feedback and delighted that you saved your puppy's life! That's so special and glad we could help you to do so. Big fan of your channel BTW :)
Thanks for this: Just FYI it's great to get to the point right away since most are probably not preemptively looking for this. putting the start of actions at 2:18 is not congruent with "you need to help them quickly"
@@FirstaidforlifeOrgUk1You know that most people looking at these videos are probably going to be in an emergency? You really should just get right to the point.
This video is not designed to be accessed in an emergency. It is for responsible pet lovers to learn these skills in advance. We run practical and online pet first aid courses and offer loads of free resources to help people learn these vital skills and be ready to help their pets when they need them.
I have an italian greyhound and would not dare to hold him by his legs (even his "upper thighs") in fear that they would break as they are quite long and fragile. What would you recommend I do instead, if I ever end up in this situation? Could I just hold his lower body instead?
What is the dog tried to vomit the piece of food he was chocking (raw bone he didn’t chew properly) but he didn’t just foam came out and I tried all do the instruction here but didn’t work. He started breathing properly and manage to finish the rest of his food and was playful after... should I be worry and should I take him to the vet in the next 24hrs?
Are you saying to hold a little dog by its hind legs when holding it and shaking it in hopes that gravity will help obstruction come out? This seems absurd. It would break my jack-chi's legs...?
Ps good luck finding a vet that will see you...there an absolute vet crisis out there right now and my dog almost died the other day and no one would help him i had to take him 2 hours away and he al,ost died. So make sure in advance that a vet will see you,...even the emergency numbers i called wouldn’t do a dumb thing.

I don’t think there a single pet parent out there that is going to agree with “your safety is most important’ comment.
The irony of the slow slow slow introduction combined with the phrase “first vital seconds” is amazing.
This is not designed for use in an emergency. It us fit responsible pet owners to learn vital first aid skills

Thank u for the video🙏 I'm not a vet but always get questions about dogs. Think it's because we have 3 and they're the best family members ever ☺
They really are!
Thanks
Seriously? I dont care if my dog bites me if they are bloody choking... Im not going to let them die because i dont want them to bite me
What chew toy is safe for dogs? Is raw cow bones safe?
Bones are not great as they can splinter. Raw bones are better than cooked bones as these can be extremely dangerous
First Aid for Life to be fair Amir did state RAW bones in his comment

I would suggest to use the wheelbarrow method

Dear Zuly, from what you say, it sounds like he is okay now. If you get worried do get him checked out though
always take your dog to the vet after they've choked
Good video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it

VanessaMW 11 hold by their upper. thighs,n not by their legs

Please ensure you learn some first aid skills so you know what to do in an emergency
Don't give big bites nor too solid to your Dogs
Good point
