- In this premier episode of Mostly Walking, we're going to kick off some team adventure fun by playing a lil KQ6. The superstars of the show are Sean Bouchard and Bill Graner, my grad school buddiez :).

"but it'll do" disabled me as a person for about 15 full consecutive minutes
m2 mate m2 :D
Lost it xD
here 7 years later, I'm still losing it.
This could not be any funnier. This whole playthrough so far has been hilarious.
your avatar is amazing.
dasuberpanda It's just an Angry Chicken man. Nothing special =p
Daiyuki117 simplicity is sometimes the best.
Daiyuki117 Do NOT anger the angry chicken. Don't you know what might happen???
3 years later and this is still probably my favorite game they've played in this series
On my yearly rerun of KQVI, still the best MW "series" to date.
"The mechanical nightingale's hard tin body doesn't feel anything like a real birds soft feathers...but it'll do." Ooooomg that was too funny xD
A Cat is fine too.
I'm in tears right now, so funny
10:24 - Just so we can hear it one more time haha, Bill's magic
I come back to this playthrough probably yearly, I should really download it, lest it get lost one day
Same here
Those three just fit perfect together to play the game :D
Sean B. is like totally immersed in the game and really wants to progress into the game, while Bill is the total opposite of immersed and really looks into the game and pokes great fun at it's awkwardness. Thenn there is Sean in the middle who is like balancing out both. On one hand he wants to really play the game on the other hand his eye for minute details especially in regards to weird controls and design really brings up some hilarious stuff. That is really a great show. Can't wait till next monday :D
OLD LAMPS FOR NEW
Bill's summary was just spot on ahaha amazing!
Watched most of this live before I had to go to work, then I have down time at work and discover all 3 parts are up on youtube already... night made, Day 9 you are the best
time for some vintage mostly walking for no particular reason
40:05 "We'll see you on every monday." Ahh yes, the early days of MW, good times. I'm not blaming any one of them for having a more irregular schedule, I know that life happens. I'm just a mostly-walkaholic who craves for more episodes. :D
We are all Mostly-Walkaholics here!
Can't wait for next Monday for the rest of this series!! Well done and extremely amusing to watch. I would recommend the Police Quest series those were the adventure games I grew up playing.
Bill's analysis was the best thing i have ever heard.
Of course you have to do Myst, Sam and Max and Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones and Monkey Island but coming a bit out of left field I'm gonna say go way indie and look into the Reality On the Norm adventure games. They were some of the weirdest things I've ever played in my life and I played text based adventure games. I'd look particularly at Lunch Time of the Damned, I Spy, or Blastoff!
There are sooo many options. I'm just excited you all are doing adventure games. There's nothing quite like the sense of accomplishment gained from unraveling a ridiculous story by unraveling some madperson's idiosyncratic brand of logic. :)
Alexander follows the Zelda school of gaming. An empty bottle is ALWAYS useful.
Brilliant! "I took a mint" hahhahah! Oh Alexander with your slicked back, jet black, shiny hair... More please!
"Alexander pulls out his magic map. Alexander feels a strange pulling sensation. Suddenly Alexander realizes he doesn't need the princess anymore."
So pleased that the boys are back! Thoroughly enjoy adventure games and RPG's, so really looking forward to more of these!
Very happy 😄😄
This walkthrough has made my day. I cannot stop laughing!!
The oyster is Strawberry Shortcakes voice. From the animated series back in the day. She's done lots of voice acting. Lol
The first point and click I ever played was The Longet Journey. It was so good, the voice acting was incredible and the story was just fantastic, the best fantasy setting I've ever encountered in any form of media.
Everything that comes out of Bill's mouth is comedic gold
lmfao Bill's rambling at 38:00 sounds like one of those videos of a newscaster having a stroke omg
It's probably just my nostalgia talking, but there were a lot of games from the late 80s/early 90s that did an amazing job of evoking a sense of wonder. Possibly because graphics & sound were so limited, they had to make you use your imagination, and what you imagine is almost always better than what someone can design.
that oyster's voice is adorable.
This is great guys! Keep up the hilarious work!
Yes. Please continue slogging through these old games in their entirety. xD
So what I'm gathering here, before I move onto the next video is that the "old man" in the store was the genie/wizard henchman watching you. He's drunk on mints, and the old man steals mints.
I think that King's Quest 3 would be a good game for a couple of laugh! Especially in the beginning since you have to escape from an evil wizard's house so you have to do stuff withouth him suspecting of you. AGD interactive remade the game with updated graphics and an overall more forgiving difficulty, but I still think there are a couple of funny deaths! So yeah play King's quest 3: to heir is human
...Or, go to the old classics lucasarts adventure games. Can't go wrong with those :D
NES The Goonies 2. WOW what a pain in the ass it was to finish that game. Love to see you guys play that one.
Really enjoyed this! Thanks for doing this guy! :)
the mechanical bird joke killed me lol 10:28
13:58 “look at that, he’s really putting his back into it...”
The guys' faces when they find something new - that is the exact face I used to make every time I discovered things in the various Monkey Island games - not to mention Grim Fandango, Fate Of Atlantis and Beneath A Steel Sky...
honestly...glorious...I WANT MORE!
OMG! Please do Sam & Max Hit the Road! :O
Or Grim Fandango! Or Day of the Tentacle! Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis? Any one of those is fantastic!
+1 on that Grim Fandango
grim fandango is the only one of them that I have not seen a lp yet, that would be so epic sean !!!!!1
rangedfighter Except theirs won't be an ordinary lp anyway. Too bad Sean never looks at his TH-cam though.
+Jachra Professor Farnsworth, is that you?
OMG GUYS! THEY ENDED UP PLAYING EVERY! SINGLE! ONE! OF! THEM!
& maybe the real treasure was the friends we found along the way.
You guys should totally do Phantasmagoria!! Not only is it really good but you can comment on its unique design using live actors from a game design point of view.
Also another one you MUST do is Laura Bow 2 the dagger of amon ra
King's Quest is solitaire. You try to expose as many cards as you can, then play them without getting stuck.
So glad you are doin this game! More More More!!!
Great show guys! Bill very funny and sean is half the man he used to be! Looking good
The guy who did the voice of Prince Alexander also did the voice of the beast in Beauty and the Beast.
"Let me ship the coin and get the bird and flip the bird and shove the bird in the hole"
That is not something you hear every day!
Tony Jay also does the voice of Frollo from the Disney Hunchback of Notre Dame film :D
Awwww, yea! I so missed Metadating, and I'm gonna be looking forward to seeing you guys play whatever you guys decide to play :D
Also, the sound is way better than it was on Metadating, which makes it even more enjoyable to watch. Cheers!
I'm laughing my goddamn ass off, bring back more!
My personal favorite: "The Longest Journey". Try it! :) Loving the show!
The pawn shop dude's voice actor, also has the voice of Lee from TWD and King Andre from CMI.
Bravo!!!! Nicely done.
There is a fantastic Polish adventure game called Teenagent. Full of humor and game logic. It was translated to english and I hope they translated it well beacue I would love to relive that game with your commentary :)
Bill made me weep :D
10:25
HAHAHAHAHA
Internet has tainted my mind!
I think you missed Jallo the Jester. He's in the library and he said "I'm sorry I don't talk to strangers". You show him the Prince Daventry ring and he opens up about the good Princess Cassima. Not sure if it's missable or not. I'll see how it goes when you pawn for your ring back.
Day of the Tentacle!
I'd love to see any of the Quest for Glory games.
I want to write down Bill's glorious analysis in the end and frame it.
I can't wait for them to realize they need the physical book that came with the game to solve a puzzle
Robbie Benson the voice actor of Prince Alex was also the beast in the Disney Beauty and the Beast film
21:40 Those weren't mints. Genie was just popping Mollys the whole time hahaha
Hot Tamale, I’m sweatin’ - WOO!
ALL HAIL DAY9 SHAUNS LAUGH!
"Old lamps fo--" "SHUT UP" ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Would love to see you guys play Discworld, such a good game...
Bill was so funny
Aww, I'll kind of miss Funday Monday
To be honest, I think Funday was becoming gradually more difficult for Sean, to think up decent constraints, and for the players to produce worthwhile/amusing games under those constraints. It's been going on for so long, I imagine Sean has been looking to replace it for sometime. At least he enjoyed part 3 as much as I did.
Makes sense. Hopefully Mostly Walking still has room for massive Sean-tangents.
It has more, because he doesn't have to pause, and he's getting immediate feedback from Sean and Bill. Also, he's not just filling up the time by himself, or (laughing at/worrying about) his own jokes due to chat delay.
idc either way I get some day9.
Know what Im saying friend?
Oh this was very good
More of these!!
Hey, you guys should try Barbie Secret Agent! I'm not even kidding! I used to play that in my childhood and quite enjoyed some of the adventures and glitches in it!
Sean, I love the series. My suggestion for the next game would be to play Discworld on the PSX. Eric Idle voice acting, relentless British humor and much silliness in terms of item usage. I still have my disc copy of the game and love it.
Oh man, you guys should totally play space quest 4, Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers. Best adventure game I played as a youngin... so may floppy discs.
You guys should totally play Secret of Mana! I'm sure you could get it running on 3 emulators and each play a character.
What a great game. I'd love to see that....
Oyster beds.... I see what you did there! :D
How drunk was Bill at the end? Or I guess through the whole thing - He's hilarious!
-not to imply that you need to be drunk to be funny, but he was drinking wine pretty much solidly throughout the episode, and that ending bit made no sense.
his rambling was so funny!!
That was the joke. The game makes no sense at all, so his analysis makes no sense at all
Quest for glory! The original one :D
Hey Sean, if you are unfamiliar with Star Tropics, I would suggest giving that a try, and also Shadow Gate, both from the original Nintendo days, I think you would enjoy both
mmm.... I want to say the Myst games, but those have some fiendishly twisty puzzles in them.
er, that being in reply to their question about what games they should play after this one at the end
For the next installement, what about keeping in the Quest theme with Space Quest V?
The oyster sounds like Marcel the Shell with Shoes On
Sean Plott should play Discworld.
Sorry for repling to an old comment, but I just had to - YES, so much yes!!
How did they not realise the creepy guy that took that mint is the same guy that 5 seconds later reports to the castly guy? xD
They didn't? I thought it was obvious in part 2 when they visited the castle and the guy was just hanging out in the background looking from one side to the other. His eye was visibly sparkling there just like it did in the Book Shop.
Bill parties hard
Really, really enjoyed this show. Would love to see them play secret of monkey Island or LeChucks revenge as their next game.. Or one of my favourite games from my childhood: quest for glory 4: shadows of darkness.
Please play Ron Gilbert's original Days of the tentacle as a follow up to this Mostly Walking game play?
Those birds sounds like my Tinnitus. :D
Play some Space Quest, Police Quest, Quest for Glory 1, 3, and 4. Also, the Laura Bow series!
Why not Quest for Glory 2???
suejak1 Agreed, there's a kickass free remake of QFG2 as well!
King quest 6 was fine, but I prefer the ones where you had to type your actions. King quest 3 is the best one IMO. The Quest for Glory series (or Hero Quest) is great too. I played pretty much every Sierra games when I was young.
oh god i choked on my food while laughing XD
Where were you able to find or download this game if we wanted to try too?
Actually, how about one of the most frustrating games ever and play The Hobbit released in 1982, I played that on the school's computers! Back then the school was the only place with one after all haha
Definitely do Space Quest 6.
That is, if you can get it to work. There are some glitches further into the game on modern machines which you'll need to research how to get past, and a part for which you needed the game manual to solve (just google it).
So yes, please do an obscure, ancient, hard-to-work game, because, well, it's REALLY god damn funny.
PLEASE do more videos with them!
What is the setup in wich Sean can play the game while Sean and Bill can see realtime wat he is doing?
So, if this is every Monday, what's happening to Funday Monday?
If you have the opportunity to play Thayer's Quest a.k.a. Kingdom : the Far Reaches, do it ! When I was a kid, my brother and I would play this game every now and then, even though we didn't understand what we had to do...So we were dying over and over...just because it's the only thing we knew how to do.
12:42 OLD LAMPS FOR NEW
Just beginning to realize that Alexander looks like Nathan Fillion, you know, the guy from Firefly?
I want to see them play Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
26:46 Friendzoned.
Day of the Tentacle ripped off the puzzle with the boring book putting someone to sleep from this game, Hoagie uses a boring textbook to put the horse to sleep.
WELL EXCUUUUUUUSE MEEEEEEEE PRINCESS
You guys should play Baldur's Gate 1 or 2.
Sam and Max hit the road! The old voice actors! Equal parts irreverence and nonsense!
and the Soundtrack! I had that as just a cd for everyday listening!
Yes! Amazing game and the fact that it's bizzare and random to begin with really fits the logic of the genre!
