*I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare **MyBest.Kitchen** a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.*
Where it comes into its own is braised root veg (even sprouts or asparagus). Melt a little butter, chuck in chunks of swede, whole turnips etc. and sprinkle with a bit of sugar (others would say and salt, but I don't do salt). You end up with perfect braised and caramelised veggies without burning and they're so soft inside. Add your veggies in order of hardness. I do swede, then turnips, then carrots and so on but you can experiment. Don't peel your beetroot to avoid bleeding. The traditional French method is to do this in a heavy iron pan and shake it around every few minutes. Great if you've got an induction stove, all the time in the world and you want to do bicep strengthening.
You never showed us the chips when cooked! So how can we decide if we like it or not? Also the pictures on the top should have been removed so we could see the chips as they were cooking.
Hi, how long have you had this and is it still going strong? I've heard many airfryer don't last much longer than a year. Would you recommend this one, particularly for chips?
Depends on the size of the chip. If they're thin then they're either called French Fries or Shoestring Fries. Thicker than that then they're chips, then obviously wedges. Mcdonald's and Burger King etc call them fries because they use thin French Fries, so at those places Australians call them fries too.
