I live in Phoenix! If you read the hx of our transportation system you may or may not be surprised to find that Phoenix was one of the only major cities to not build highways until the 80s way after the FHA funds were dispersed. Maricopa county (where phoenix is located) instituted a sales tax by popular vote and since then we’ve reauthorized it twice with the latter being this past election. It helps us build light rail, massive infrastructure projects such as the 1-10 curve project, and keeps our roads well paved. I am proud of Phoenix.

Bwah HA HA! Try driving roads outside of Phoenix metro and loops. Shattered leaf springs, blown tires, roads/interstates so destroyed it will bounce your car into a different lanes. Riding the rumble strip with your passenger side tires to stay out of pot holes. Try driving north of Kingman or I-40. Go do a video of that but make an appointment with your dentist to repair your teeth, your chiropractor for an adjustment and make sure you have full coverage AAA! You will need all of it! 🤣
I moved away from AZ back in 2017, and you got all of the route that I was curious about. So many major changes. I-10 flows so much better compared to the early 2000s with the 202 reliever, C/D system at the 60 and added lane capacity especially in the far Wsst Valley. ADOT does an excellent job. I remember when I-10 dropped down to three lanes after 101, then two lanes to 303. I remember when it was all orange groves 😂
It's nice to see that you went back to Arizona this month. I wonder if you also visited San Diego, Los Angeles & San Fransico aeras on that trip too. In addition, I also noticed the later than usual upload today. I believe you had quite a busy day, right?
@@AsphaltPlanet1 Nice video. To point out your comment about the HOV lanes, if you're ever in Houston Texas, the 290 freeway are set up the same way. No road markers to separate the lanes from each other. 😅
Awesome footage as always. Every Phoenix video I see the roads are always so incredibly well maintained!
Phoenix is a great city to take a cruise through. Thanks for the comment.

Amazing drive thru I-10 in the Phoenix Metro Area!

Now it's 4 lanes past the 101 and 3 past the 303. Phoenix freeways changed alot
Gotta love the southwest US freeways! Phoenix freeways reminds me of freeways in Florida!
You should see the freeways around Albuquerque: they're a disaster! Lol
Enjoy that little bit through Ray Rd - US 60 where the road is now redone and silent?
I’m from Utah but lived briefly in Phoenix. I always found it weird that the HOV lanes had a continuous solid line
lol every time i leave Phoenix i find it weird when other cities do not have a solid white line.

I visited several other cities in the southwest as part of this trip. Thanks for thecomment.
Great drive! Do you ever stop at Starbucks or Dunkin' along the way?
I never stop at Starbucks, and while I will very rarely stop at Dunkin, it always seems overpriced and underwhelming.

There was some shoddy driving there 😮 From the fast lane crossing three lanes to take a exit. Very dangerous
Welcome to AZ driving
I take the 303 to i-10 often
