Red Sovine was always good at pulling on your heart strings. There is no one in country music doing this now. Loved your reaction as always. Hang in there sweet lady you are going to be alright. LOVE YA BIG !!!!
I second this one! It is my favorite! We played it at my wedding before my dad walked me out (had to do it before so he wouldn't cry!)! It is also my ringtone when he calls me!
Oh yes..I love that song..a close friend of mine has it as his ring tone..he had put on after his daughter was born 5 years ago..and they are a close father and daughter..he opened restaurant a little over a year ago and his daughter's name is the name of his restaurant..Leigha's Lunchbox
As soon as he said the little boy was kneeling by his mums grave really got me, and now I'm crying too 😪😪 My mum's in heaven too and I love her each and every day. 🌹🌹🌹
thank you for reacting to some of these old classics like Red sovine. These songs are near and dear to my heart. Just a clarification, the I in Sovine is a hard I.
Thank you for reminding me about Red Sovine. I love his story telling songs, I am 69 grew up with classic country still listen. Another good story teller is Johnny Cash “Man in Black” one of many. Tells why in black aways. It great to see young lady outside US loving classic country, thanks.-Kenny
Hey Shortcake I just had a thought another STORYTELLER would be Tom T. Hall with "Old Dogs, Children and Watermelon Wine" The Year That Clayton Delaney died and many others. Not all Country songs are tearjerkers Most of the Old School Country or as I like to call it REAL COUNTRY are love songs drinkin' and Cheatin' songs all with three cords and the Truth.
I absolutely love this song. It's easily in my top 10 of favorites. I've been following you for about 8 months. I always look forward to your next post. I'm so glad I subscribed. I love and appreciate you.
I've been a subscriber for a couple of months now. You're one of my favorites to watch. Your reactions are so HUMAN! I love how you're not afraid to show your feelings. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!
Red Sovine, and Tom T Hall are both great story tellers. I grew up listening to all of this old country music and you are right. There's just a certain way about how artist like Red Sovine can put a story to music and make you feel the whole thing.
Hello Half Pint & GITANO'S! Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far! I love the story telling of Red Sovine also - he's just able to pull on the heartstrings just right & bring that emotion out of ya! Phantom 309 or Little Rosa would be next if I was you! I have one for you & Lucky too react to together on by Brandon Davis called Step by Step! Much love & positivity always Half Pint & GITANO'S!!!💙💞💙
Hank Williams Jr has a song called.. A country boy survive. Also there was another great story teller Hank Williams Sr. A some called just a picture from life's other side
Great reaction. There's a LOT of them from this approximately 30-35 year period. Around 1950 to 1980 or 1985. And a few after that. If you like this thing, as I do myself, you'll literally NEVER be able to get to the end of them all. Don't worry about running out, lol. And Red Sovine has more than most.
Love your Reactions, especially to "story songs". May I suggest a trio of related song stories each concerning the same story from another persons viewpoint? Marty Robbins singing "El Paso", "Faleena" and "El Paso City" in that order.
So glad you're back.... never stop showing those emotions... I just bought stock in Kleenex ;). Oh and you'll find that most trucker songs will either make you cry or laugh... if you want a good laugh, try "Wolf Creek Pass" by C. W. McCall.
Hi Gitana, Wilford here, how are you doing today? I hope you're doing well. Red Sovine got you again, didn't he? No matter how hard you try, his story telling always makes you shed a tear or two.i know that you might not be into sports very much, but a very special Coach and human being who died of Cancer, Jimmy Valvano once said in order to have a full day you need to do Three things, the first thing is you need to laugh, the Second thing you need to do is find a quiet place and sit down and just think about anything. And the third thing you need to do is just go somewhere by yourself and have a good cry. If you do all of that then you've had a full day. He also said don't give up don't ever give up. Just something to think about.🙂
Still would love to see more Dan Vasc reactions or Mayki Fabiani, at least the five he does with Moita, or Jonathan Young, especially his new one - Divided- or Anthony Vincent, especially his newest - a cover of Cult of Personality, or Journey's new one, The Way we Used To Be. Dan Vasc's? Anything you react to by him would be great; I love them all.
Some other Red Sovine story songs, off the top of my head. In no particular order. 1) Phantom 309. (I think you did Teddy Bear already) 2) Truck Drivers Prayer 3) Colorado Kool-aid... Not sad. But you may be crying from laughter. 4) Giddy-up Go (and lesser known Giddy-up Go Answer, by Minnie Pearl) 5) Daddys Girl (with Reds young girls singing backup). It's not sad, but bring the hankies. It's a tribute to how having a girl can completely change a dad who thought he wanted a boy. It tells how she changed him for the next ~20 years. 6) Little Joe, a song about a dog. (with a surprise mention of a certain grown up character from another of his songs, and the realization that this song is about the same protagonist from another song. 7) Little Rosa, bring hankies 8) "Daddy What If..." Live version by Bobby Bare and his ten year old son live on TV...it's on TH-cam somewhere. Bobby Bare is a great country and country folk singer songwriter you need to discover. The other reactors haven't discovered him yet. He's still alive, but elderly. He's an absolute country LEGEND! As big or bigger than Red in his time.
Try this one out, it's from Drax Project "Catching Feelings" ft. Six60, They asked everyone to share something or someone who you've caught feelings for and added them into their music video. Drax Project and Six60 are both New Zealand bands. Very laid back no tissues needed. This is Six60 "Don't Give It Up" from about 3 years ago when they went to the States. Stay safe from NZ.
Red was the KING of the tearjerker story. He was actually one of MY mom's favorite singers. Just FYI, the "vine" in Red's last name Sovine is pronounced like the plant...a grape vine or ivy vine.
Red Sovine was always good at pulling on your heart strings. There is no one in country music doing this now. Loved your reaction as always. Hang in there sweet lady you are going to be alright. LOVE YA BIG !!!!
Red was a master at getting to the heart!!!
Daddy's girl is a good one. It probably will make you cry.
I second this one! It is my favorite! We played it at my wedding before my dad walked me out (had to do it before so he wouldn't cry!)! It is also my ringtone when he calls me!

Its pronounce red so vine. I used to listen to a lot of his music with my grandma as a kid. I miss those days
More Red Sovine? He must've really got you on Teddy Bear 🙂

My dad always told me that this was for my mom. He always went all out for her. I love my mama and my daddy. May they rest in peace
his name is Red Sovine ( that is vine like a weed) I watched him on stage at the Louisiana Hay Ride on more than a few times when i was a young boy.
I more or less grew up listening to Red Sovine. The proper way to say his name is "so vine"(as in grape vine) with the accent on "so"
Red was the KING of the tearjerker story. He was actually one of MY mom's favorite singers. Just FYI, the "vine" in Red's last name Sovine is pronounced like the plant...a grape vine or ivy vine.
Red Sovine's song get up go
Alabama, Angeles among us
Pretty much every song of his is sad. And it's so vine not so veen.

Tim McGraw "If you're Reading this" is one I can't listen to without a lump in my throat.
Phantom 309 and gritty up go are amazing red so-vine songs
Try "Blind man in the Bleachers" by David Geddes
Please listen to Little Rosa. Love Red Sovine!
Another great storyteller is Tom T, Hall. Check out his "Old Dogs and Children and Watermelon Wine."
