@maydecember513 I don't think he is putting it on. I love Nacho and I get pretty annoyed by people not complaining about him. He does his job and he does it well, not to mention he's close to the band which is just as important as any of the other shit but, I don't think he knows the name of the stuff in the rig. I say as long as he keeps them sounding good and knows what the things does he's doing his job. Most people who work in offices on computers don't know how much RAMM the computer has.
@Marcel3540 One of the main reasons to use a switching system is that you can program a single switch to turn on multiple pedals at once. It also makes your stage layout much cleaner.
Jesus. I made the same dumb mistake I always do - I read the comments. Love the band or hate them (I love them,) they've accomplished more than everyone in this thread added together. I remember being 19 and hating on every band I didn't like, but then I grew up. These guys prove that it's all about the SONG, not playing a million notes a minute. While you practice your sweep picking alone in your bedroom for hours on end, they're recording and performing actual music.
@Marcel3540 Basically, the big black controller on the stage with all the footswitches turns the pedals in the rack on and off. They do it because it's cleaner, easier to use and more convenient than having all the pedals out on stage :)
@garysmartable no it is a compressor, a phase 90 has one control, the compressor has two. different colour aswell, the phase 90 has more of an orange colour.
coffeewaldo Look up how much two Matchless DC-30s will cost you, and then you can try calling it cheap gear. You'll be lucky to get the two for 7K, not to mention both matthews and calebs guitars going for roughly 3K a piece, and another 2.5K for that Hummingbird acoustic. I won't even get started with Jared and his Ampeg stacks
It's cool that they use mainly Boss and Digitech stuff and are one of the tightest live bands around. Goes to show that a lot of boutique pedals are a bit like gourmet McDonalds
Why two SVT heads? The SVT has a 2ohm switch on the back for powering two 4ohm cabinets. The AMPEG SVT was originally designed to power two 8x10 cabs together. In other words, this bass player is using two separate amps, both running at half power instead of one amp at full power. Do the tubes last longer at 4ohms?
I'm thinking about buying a reverberocket 212 like Matt's that's in pretty good condition, I play Texas country music or what is called red dirt music like cross canadian ragweed which gets pretty distorted at times and then goes back to clean: do you think it would be a good purchase for that sound?
Yes I am into guitar gear haha, maybe just from a different perspective. I mean I love Mesa/Boogie and think they are the greates amps ever. Don't get me wrong, I've checked out some matchless and ampegs now and I must say the do sound good :)
can someone tell me how they use the effects in the "stacks"? is there like a switcher, when the guitarist change a effect, then he switch the effect IN the stack too? lol
Because he's a cousin of Caleb's I think, they made an agreement that if one of them got famous doing what they're doing then they'll give the other one a job, hence why Nacho is the roadie/guitar tech ect.
"this is aa....................... [tries to read name] [there's nothing on it] it's a green line six. sounds pretty bassy and beefy and crunchy but smooth at the same time. sounds good" that guy was really high the bass tech knew his shit though
Guys I know the guitar tech doesn't seem to know a lot about the rig but if you really look at what the rig is made of, all it takes is some common sense to use it.
@HammondB200 i kinda got that while going through the video, then this put the icing on the cake. *looks at full drive mosfet 2* "this is kinda like a full drive, mosfet" wtf.
Quite informative. I now know that the kings of Leon's effects units are all 'pretty cool'
Key to kings of Leon's sound:Verb, drive, beef and crunch.
That ES-325 is the heart and soul of KOL.
Jared is the best bass player on earth! I love his basslines and the one in Closer and The End are my favorites :)
Nacho is stooonnneeedddd!
He's the biggest stoner I've seen in a while LOL
I SERIOUSLY love Caleb's guitar. It shows it has some history.
love the way he goes "mmhmmm" the whole time nacho speaks!
@maydecember513 I don't think he is putting it on. I love Nacho and I get pretty annoyed by people not complaining about him. Exactly. You can have the technique of Govan but if you can’t compose your screwed. KOL are still here doing it in 2022! 🇺🇸🎸🎤🥁
my favorite part was when he described how the fulldrive mostfet sounded as a "kinda full drive... mosfet sound"
@Marcel3540 Basically, the big black controller on the stage with all the footswitches turns the pedals in the rack on and off. They do it because it's cleaner, easier to use and more convenient than having all the pedals out on stage :)
"the green line-6" Nacho rules.
If your having problems with the sound, it's probly because there are a gigzillion pedals that aren't necessary destroying the sound
@garysmartable no it is a compressor, a phase 90 has one control, the compressor has two. different colour aswell, the phase 90 has more of an orange colour.
love that bass octaver

I can't believe they use ME 50, I use that pedal too and I'm just starting my guitar journey. That makes me feel so good!
hows your journey coming along 9 years later?
Thats so sick! i never would have that on the song closer, that was bass in the intro. those are dope effects.
In my experience the reverberrocket does well in any application. I play a bunch of different styles in my band and it has never let me down. Buy one.
It's cool that they use mainly Boss and Digitech stuff and are one of the tightest live bands around. Goes to show that a lot of boutique pedals are a bit like gourmet McDonalds
Tech: "..and stuff like that."
Interviewer: "Mhmm.."

Dang y’all should’ve done a review of the drums would love to see what Noah uses specifically
The green line 6 is the delay modeller
@craigdamage more ohms changes the response of the speaker and tends to make it tighter/punchier.
I think he's alright. He certainly gets the job done. Good luck to him and the band.
@zbarneyz the bass is called a thunderbird.
3:55 VEEEEERRBB!
I'm thinking about buying a reverberocket 212 like Matt's that's in pretty good condition, I play Texas country music or what is called red dirt music like cross canadian ragweed which gets pretty distorted at times and then goes back to clean: do you think it would be a good purchase for that sound?
@MrDirt86 Yeah, they do. I was talking about the appearance of their boards and rigs.
" '72, 1972 Gibson"
Ya don't say? I thought it was a 1872 Gibson
deep grit, yea pretty cool, yea the green line 6, more verb, they're pretty cool
i'm not a KoL fan at all......but i respect GOOD musicianship......and KoL definitely are artists.
they have some pretty sweet rigs as well!
I have the same Ampeg Reverberocket and it's a beast of an amp.
**dyna comp. phase 90 has one knob and is orange. dyna comp has 2 knobs and is red, like that one...
Caleb's guitar is gorgeous
What do ya call this thing? It compresses
Always wondered why Matthew Followill doesn‘t play a Telecaster in the mix. It would perfectly fit their Southern/Americana tinged sound and style.
Now he does
What is the name of the song at the beginning????
i would kill for that ampeg 212, kill, love all ampeg amps for guitar, cant imagine what they can do for bass
the green line 6, some verb, the verbzilla... it's pretty cool ya know...
Yes I am into guitar gear haha, maybe just from a different perspective. I mean I love Mesa/Boogie and think they are the greates amps ever. Don't get me wrong, I've checked out some matchless and ampegs now and I must say the do sound good :)
Whats the first song in the video ? I know it is from KoL but anyone know the name of the song ? The song on the intro of the video
can someone tell me how they use the effects in the "stacks"?
is there like a switcher, when the guitarist change a effect, then he switch the effect IN the stack too? lol
i bet you are such a guitar god mike, really
What is the song in the beginning?
why_don't_they_know_what_a_spacebar_is
They sure love their reverb...I'm a stomp box fan but that's just way to much
sick rigs
i think "Nacho" is FLYYYING!
Which other bands?
whats the song at the very begining??
Thanks for the reply! I think I'll make the purchase=]
Because he's a cousin of Caleb's I think, they made an agreement that if one of them got famous doing what they're doing then they'll give the other one a job, hence why Nacho is the roadie/guitar tech ect.
0:53 what song is that?
closer
Edgar Ledesma Thanks.
wii I've got the Boss ME-50 its pretty good although I use it with my guitar, not the bass LOL
whats the point of haveing a wah pedal in a rack?
1:05 how did he do that. Anyone?
+dan murphey He just steped on the pedal...you set up a shifter on that loop and you just step on it and makes that squizzy sound haha
"and this is like...lemme just read what the pedal says....it's a pedal....that does cool stuff....sounds pretty good"
@helikestv Nacho is their cousin. He is, among other things, a talented musician himself. He's putting us on by acting like a dumb dumb.
pretty chill
@McfearlessTrani thank you !!!
it's pretty cool
@correoparasaul1 its their cousin, nacho.
@tommy622222 ....thats because....more of kings of leon´s songs have that "crunchy" sound....
different reverb times and types for each, i would imagine
@nathanbrendanco Its called 'Razz' From Aha Shake Heartbreak
me-50 or me-50b?
"this is aa....................... [tries to read name] [there's nothing on it] it's a green line six. sounds pretty bassy and beefy and crunchy but smooth at the same time. sounds good"
that guy was really high
the bass tech knew his shit though
@vbdude006 I agree the guy doesn't know what he's on about, but Matchless DCs are some of the best amps on the market.
Guys I know the guitar tech doesn't seem to know a lot about the rig but if you really look at what the rig is made of, all it takes is some common sense to use it.
imagine without all that gear, LOL
Kings of Leon songs can be played with voice and acoustic guitar, without all the effects. 🇺🇸
Closer.
how are they all fucking family jesus
he said toodlings of jerry right?
"This is a, you know, kinda like a, full drive mosfet". I didn't know Nacho could read?
They tend to break more often than other pedals.
Maybe they should have a guitar tech that knows what he is talking about?
"The green line 6. The ME 50, it has 50 multi effects." LOL
@TheMovieMusicMan you beat me to it!
:o kl, I'll check them out
i can tell the guy handling the guitars, loves his job. -__-
fuck now i need a bass pitchshifter
first, it's weed laced brownies.
now it's nachos.
holy hell.
nacho!!
Nacho is crispy
i think that nacho dude is a old friend of the family or somethin or a part of the family
either way they had to teach him everything.
"Crunchy"
@smoss469 haha considering he has been with the band for like over 10 years you would think he would have learnt somthing!!!
"he kinda digs it coz it's got the master and gain switch" so like pretty much every amp in the world then.
KOL, Y U HIRED THAT KINDA MESS TO BE YOUR GUITAR TECH???!!!!!!
They bring out the entire Followill clan
@smoss469 or guitars
0:49 he shuts up and my jaw dropped.
@HammondB200 i kinda got that while going through the video, then this put the icing on the cake.
*looks at full drive mosfet 2*
"this is kinda like a full drive, mosfet"
wtf.
@TheAmazingLiberalist
Haha, these guys are great.
such an underrated band
cool story bro
Could they have a more uninformed guitar tech doing this demo??
