I'm so glad you included Beauty and the Beast even though its animation. Its absolutely beautiful and classic. White Christmas is another favorite. But nothing can beat Fred and Ginger.
Personally I would put Strictly Ballroom as number 1 as it is symbolic of the entire theme of the movie. Seeing Scott Hastings shake off the shackles of conformity and dancing the new steps as underdogs with everyone slowly showing support was great character development. The Aussie cast is fabulous
Danny Kaye was not a trained dancer but you'ld never know it. The way he puts his hand around Vera-Ellen's waist and controls the movement is a powerful, yet loving guidance. Incredibly sexy. My favorite dance scene. Perfection.
I want to add on that Edith Head's costumes were divine! I love all the layers of chiffon in the skirt of Vera-Ellen's dress here, gradually getting deeper in color. This scene is magical!
Shame Maria and Captain Von Trap's dance didn't get a mention. I know it's not exactly a ballroom dance but the supporting cast are dancing it while in a ballroom 😉 and it's a classic. I always loved how Yul and Deborah seemed to fly off the floor.💝
Strictly Ballroom is one of my favourite movies of all time. Frida Kahlo (Salma Hayek) dancing with Tina Modotti (Ashley Judd) could have done with an honorable mention, but honestly there are so many other great dancing moments that I'm not surprised it didn't make the cut.
All are superb! “Shall We Dance”, “King & I”, “Funny Face”, “Take the Lead”, “White Christmas “, and of course Fred and Ginger. “Paso Doble”. Make me want to do some ballroom dancing!💃 🕺
Great list! I especially the love the scenes from Beauty and the Beast and The King and I. I would also humbly submit that the Ozdust Ballroom sequence from Wicked deserves a spot, as it combines a traditional ball with a school dance in a really enthralling way.
I am glad you chose Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and, of course, Danny Kaye and Vera-Ellen were another wonderful pair. But, my favorite that stops my heart is Shall We Dance. When Richard Gere rides up that escalator, I'm sure nearly every woman wishes she was Susan Sarandon. I know I do. I can imagine it's hard to choose a Top Ten of anything. Just keep up the good work.
The number one ballroom dance scene should be from Gone with the Wind. It is an iconic movie and scene, but unfortunately today’s world is too woke to appreciate a truly great movie! The dance scene does start with a reel but then changes to a waltz. Even though this movie does paint a distorted vision about slavery, the cinematography for this movie is breathtaking and the story is classic.
I can't dance for anything, ( nickname Captain Klutz) but I love to watch! I'm watch all the old movies just to enjoy some of the best dancers in the business! 🎉🎉❤❤ Astair, Kelly, Rita Moreno, and Ann Reinking among the many other great dancers! 🎉❤
*MY FAVORITES:* The Waltz - Shall We Dance? "Tale as Old as Time" - Beauty and the Beast Waltzing with Vronsky - Anna Karenina "Shall We Dance?" - The King and I "Can I Have This Dance?" - High School Musical 3: Senior Year "El Tango de Roxanne" - Moulin Rouge "Assassin's Tango" - Mr. & Mrs. Smith "So Close" - Enchanted The Wedding Dress Dance - Funny Face Argentine Tango Lesson - Take the Lead "The Best Thing Happen When You're Dancing" - White Christmas The Paso Doble - Strictly Ballroom "Cheek to Cheek" - Top Hat Don Alejandro Dances with Elena - The Mask of Zorro Gomez Tangos with Morticia - Addams Family Values Dancing at the Ball - Cinderella
Best list you guys have created. I agree with the top 10, but I might have picked a different Ginger & Frank for #1.(It's the dress that gives a great story. Frank hated it. Ginger insisted. ) I can watch this list over & over. Thank you.❤🎉😂
The tengo dance from princess switch 3 also deserved to be atleast in honourable mention even though it wasn't with prince or with Kevin but with a antagonist, both Vanessa Hudgens n that guy killed it
My favorite dance scene is the sexy Tango Jamie Lee Curtis dances with Arnold Schwarzenegger at the end of the action comedy "True Lies"! The chemistry of the characters, a CIA undercover agent and his unwitting wife who gets tangled up in his spy case of finding Jihadist terrorist, concludes in them both saving the world from an nuclear weapon attack and remembering that as an old married couple, they still had the eye and the hots for each other! She thought he was a computer salesman having an affair because their marriage had gone stale and started following him only to find out he was a CIA spy all these years. That Tango was HOT! My favorite action comedy of all time!
If Fred Astaire didn’t make no. 1 in this list, I’d have lost faith in your judgement! He will always be tops, well, tied with Gene Kelley, of course! 😆
My uncles dressed like Gene Kelley: slacks with a pull over sweater, white socks and loafers. I never wanted to dance with them. I loved the look of "A top hat, white tie and tails." Still prefer that look. When I was much older I noticed that Mr. Kelley had a really nice butt. Astair and Kelley were both fabulous.
6) The ballroom scene is so _special_ MsMojo doesn’t even know the song’s title is “Beauty and the Beast” and not “Tale as old as time”. 🙄 2) That is the best ballroom dance scene in movie history imo. Nothing beats its intensity, music, choreography and the couple’s chemistry. 🔥💖
Dirty Dancing - Baby and Johnny's Mambo, Evita -- Waltz for Eva and Che which is a combination of Tango and Waltz, Scent of a Woman, Tango between Al Pacino and Gabrielle Anwar to “Por Una Cabeza.” Honorable mention to True Lies - Tango between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tia Carrere, also to “Por Una Cabeza.”
My favorite wasn't on your list. While not the show stopper of some of your chosen, Al Pacino and Gabrielle Anwar in Scent of a Woman did a beautiful tango. It showed a very different side to Pacino's character, a very angry, crass, blind, former military officer.
How can you ask us to make a choice between thiis magnificent performances.. smile.. I love them all.. Thank's for sharing Greetings from Skandinavia 💞🇮🇸😊✌️💞
If you do another list, I submit Jane and John Smith's tense ballroom dance from Mr. And Mrs. Smith. They still had raging chemistry while trying to nearly kill eachother in a crowded restaurant.
Strictly ballroom! THE BEST!!! Every time even now ADAMS FAMILY- sigh The king and I- excellent Enchanted yes! Shall we dance ( remake) with Richard was nice BUT the foreign Asian make of this film was better.
if you're gonna pay homage to Cinderella, I'd have picked the classic animated Disney film or at least the 90s adaptation of Rogers & Hammerstein's version starring Brandi as Cinderella. I'm happy this remembered Disney's proper/animated Beauty and the Beast, though; it's my favorite Disney Princess movie so that scene is dear to my heart. (sadly I can't say the same for the live action, whose greatest sin was giving into Emma Watson's demands and changing the ball gown into something inferior in the WRONG shade of yellow.)
Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews dancing to "The Lendler" in "Sound Of Music" and Richard Chamberlain and Gemma Craven dancing at the ball in "The Slipper And The Rose."❤❤
Vernon and Irene Castle were an actual ballroom couple. The story via film towards the end showed Irene waiting for Vernon at a ball. Only to find out that he had died due to an accident in WW1. He was the only one who had died in the crash of the airplane. I remember my mom watching it one time on cable in the early 90s.
Forgotten animated films to add to the list: Let me be your wings- Thumbelina Once upon a December- Anastasia I know you- Sleeping beauty This is my idea- Swan Princess
beautiful romantic sound of music step up dirty dancing singing in the rain not mentioned but have gorgeous dancing as well fun so romantic perfect way to propose
I'm shocked beauty and the Beast is not number 1. I think that tops them all. my other 2 choice is 3. tango lesson from Take the Lead since I would love to do that scene and my number 2 choice is The Best Thing Happen while You Dancing because this is the scene that inspired me to get into Musical Theater.

I'm so glad you included Beauty and the Beast even though its animation. Its absolutely beautiful and classic. White Christmas is another favorite. But nothing can beat Fred and Ginger.
The King and I is still one of my favorite movies of all time. So great. And that scene is just one of many brilliant scenes.
I got to see Yul Brynner in the King and I. Amazing
Thank you for including Strictly Ballroom! The passion of the Paso Doble dance scene is incomparable!
Fred and Ginger always and forever! Incomparable!!! I also liked the tango scene in Scent of a Woman. Not a great picture but a lovely dance.
The Sound of Music Laendler with Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer chemistry is off the charts!!! HOT HOT!!!
The Cinderella dance scene is the BEST ✨
Shame Maria and Captain Von Trap's dance didn't get a mention. I know it's not exactly a ballroom dance but the supporting cast are dancing it while in a ballroom 😉 and it's a classic.
I always loved how Yul and Deborah seemed to fly off the floor.💝
Awwww the Laendler scene is so magical 😍
I was just thinking the same thing!
Heck Yeah Strictly Ballroom! Recognition for the dance movie that got me into dancing! I still get CHILLS every time I watch that final dance!
The landler from Sound of Music deserves an honorable mention too!
The King and I "Shall we dance" act is so contagious. After watching this movie, you can only wake up and dance... 1, 2, 3 and.... :-)
#3…my all time favorite movie…Danny Kaye didn't think he could keep up with Vera Ellen..he did so wonderfully. She made everything look effortless.
YES!!! Thank you, Ms.Mojo for not only including Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, but also putting "Cheek to Cheek" as your #1 pick!!! ❤❤❤
Fred Astaire - undoubtedly Mr Ballroom.
“Shall We Dance”, “King & I”,
“Funny Face”, “Take the Lead”, “White Christmas “, and of course Fred and Ginger.
“Paso Doble”. Make me want to do some ballroom dancing!💃 🕺
The tango scene in Take the Lead with Antonio Banderas is my favorite.
I just clicked the video cause of the King and I cover photo! I loved that movie as a kid and still listen to that album🥰🥰
I love that song "Hello young lovers" 😢
Yule Bryner was recreating the role he played on Broadway in The King and I. It is a stunning scene to watch on the big screen.
Great list! I especially the love the scenes from Beauty and the Beast and The King and I. I would also humbly submit that the Ozdust Ballroom sequence from Wicked deserves a spot, as it combines a traditional ball with a school dance in a really enthralling way.
beauty and the beast is not an animated 'kids' movie, it is one of the finest animation movie
I can not believe Cyd Charisse and Fred Astaire dancing "Dancing in The Dark" (The Band Wagon, 1953) was not included.
I was expecting to see the tango from "Scent of a Woman". Such a great scene.
White Christmas was a tour de force in dance movies.
No scent of woman alpacino!!!!! I thought it will become No 1 dancing scene
Came here to say the same.
Yul Brynner, & Deborah Kerr in the King & I is my favorite of all time.❤😊
Oh Fred and Ginger! Glad to see them included this time.
I love Ginger’s hairstyle!
I’ve always love that feather dress of Ginger Roger’s!
Anna Karenina was OUTSTANDING 🎉❤
The number one ballroom dance scene should be from Gone with the Wind. It is an iconic movie and scene, but unfortunately today’s world is too woke to appreciate a truly great movie! The dance scene does start with a reel but then changes to a waltz. Even though this movie does paint a distorted vision about slavery, the cinematography for this movie is breathtaking and the story is classic.
Agreed. To waltz with Clark Gable! Sigh...
"Shall We Dance" is Not a Gere movie, it's originally a Japanese movie & totally so much better. Absolutely love it !
Me too!
Yes, Take the Lead!! Would’ve loved to see Havana Night’s “Do you only wanna dance” performance, though.
The scene from Scent of A woman with AL Pacino belongs in this collection.
My favourite is Ricardo Montalban dancing with Jane Powell in Two Weeks With Love. He was magical in that movie.
All good choices. The King and I made me click and Banderas is superb.
What about the tango scene in Scent of a Woman?
Great picks!!!

I can watch this list over & over. Thank you.❤🎉😂
Frank? You mean Fred?
Beautiful of the king and I ❤❤😍😘
Loved that scene too. I felt every tension between them ❤❤❤❤❤
The dress in the King and I has never been equaled.
I love the polka from The King and I, but polka is not a ballroom dance category.
@ That dress still gets me every time.
Happy thursday morning, Samantha, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well
I'm so thankful that "Addams Family" was mentioned but was hoping "True Lies" would've gotten a nod.
same, that is one of my favorites too, along with Danny Kay and Vera Ellen.
I came into this video thinking "This better feature Shall We Dance!!!" and I was not disappointed 😊 SUCH a fantastic movie
The tengo dance from princess switch 3 also deserved to be atleast in honourable mention even though it wasn't with prince or with Kevin but with a antagonist, both Vanessa Hudgens n that guy killed it
Always & forever White Christmas ❤❤❤❤
MY FAVORITE HAS ALWAYS BEEN , " THE KING AND I ". YUL BRENNER........OMG......❤
Yul oozed masculinity in every movie. He put it in overdrive as the King and it was simply scrumptious.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt should have gotten an honorable mention for Mr and Mrs Smith
All these dances are fantastic but for me 1,2,3…to10 place is for The time of my life from Dirthy Dancing
Why have can I have this dance from hsm3 in the video and not have it on this list?
If Fred Astaire didn’t make no. 1 in this list, I’d have lost faith in your judgement! He will always be tops, well, tied with Gene Kelley, of course! 😆
My uncles dressed like Gene Kelley: slacks with a pull over sweater, white socks and loafers. I never wanted to dance with them. I loved the look of "A top hat, white tie and tails." Still prefer that look. When I was much older I noticed that Mr. Kelley had a really nice butt. Astair and Kelley were both fabulous.
For once I agree with #1. I was sure that you would not include it because there was already a Fred Astaire clip. That dress was everything.
6) The ballroom scene is so _special_ MsMojo doesn’t even know the song’s title is “Beauty and the Beast” and not “Tale as old as time”. 🙄
2) That is the best ballroom dance scene in movie history imo.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC Laendler scene with Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews!!! HOT, HOT!!!
Does Al Pacino in Scent of a woman not count as a ballroom dance?
How can you ask us to make a choice between thiis magnificent performances.. smile.. I love them all.. Thank's for sharing Greetings from Skandinavia 💞🇮🇸😊✌️💞
The dance between Mowgli and Kitty in The Jungle Book live action is so very romantic.
I enjoyed them all n would have been hard put to choose the best😊
#1 fave is the Laendler (S. of M) Some of these are more gymnastic than a dance!
My favourite scene is Rita Hayworth and Gene Kelly Long ago and far away Cover Girl
If you do another list, I submit Jane and John Smith's tense ballroom dance from Mr. And Mrs. Smith. They still had raging chemistry while trying to nearly kill eachother in a crowded restaurant.
Strictly ballroom! THE BEST!!! Every time even now
ADAMS FAMILY- sigh
The king and I- excellent
Enchanted yes!
Shall we dance ( remake) with Richard was nice BUT the foreign Asian make of this film was better.
🇨🇴💓

This list reminds me the time I was dancing with my crush in kindergarten crush during our Christmas party
The Japanese Shall we Dance was infinitely better. Shall we Dance is superb. Seriously Funny Face?
Wish this included dance sequences from anime.
The ballroom dance between Baron and Haru from The Cat Returns is so cute.
You missed Labyrinths dream ball dancento As the world falls down. And also the finall dance in Dirty dancing
I believe it's call DIRTY dancing, because it's not ballroom dances that is being taught.
I'm forever disappointed that Moulin Rouge didn't have this version of the Tango on the soundtrack. A tragic difference.
I hope take the lead is on this list
Take the lead was so friggin hot and a great movie; tons of great moments.
Troy And Gabriella Ballroom Dance 🕺 💃
There are so many more than these 10 dances. This list is just one person's opinion. Don't sweat it.
Insupportable cette voix qui empêche de goûter ces beaux moments de danses
What about:
.Waltz of Che and Eva-Evita
I rather prefer Cinderella’s dancing
See if you can find an entire flamenco troup dancing. It's the most extraordinary thing, not at all like just one couple.
Dirty Dancing. The waltz from Crimson Peak. That waltz is just an Honorable Mention? The other waltzes don’t manage nea4ly as sexy
Gene Kelly & Leslie Caron
I got the king and I in my head for the last few months now.
Forgotten animated films to add to the list:
Let me be your wings- Thumbelina
Once upon a December- Anastasia
I know you- Sleeping beauty
This is my idea- Swan Princess
I am so disappointed that nothing from Dirty Dancing was included. I know Dirty Dancing is not ballroom but there was some dances that were!
One of my favorites not included here is Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey!!
You may cancel the more beautiful and elegant shots of the ballroom dance sence from Top Hat. A shame.
What about Al Pacino dancing the tango in Scent of a Woman?
🌲🌲
beautiful romantic sound of music step up dirty dancing singing in the rain not mentioned but have gorgeous dancing as well fun so romantic perfect way to propose
Where’s the OzDust ballroom dance from Wicked?
That’s not ballroom.
I think it is funny that even with the top pick you don't actually see much of the dance
war and peace - masquerade suite waltz
I'm shocked beauty and the Beast is not number 1. I think that tops them all. my other 2 choice is 3. tango lesson from Take the Lead since I would love to do that scene and my number 2 choice is The Best Thing Happen while You Dancing because this is the scene that inspired me to get into Musical Theater.
