The best part of the game is when you stop being a rampaging mass of flesh and teeth and start physiological torturing people by slow draging them away from the group one by one
Personally I don't mind the no map thing, but I do find the game mechanics of having to loose/gain mass (can only be done in certain places) to switch abilities quite annoying. It creates sooo much backtracking when the puzzles get a bit more elaborate later on.
Oof yes, been playing this and it's very easy to end up going in circles and also you won't remember where every single entrance that leads from one zone to the next. That and there's a lot that's just "We assume players will figure this out".
@@techno1561 I think if anything they could put up some screens on the walls in certain locations that display some digital map of the areas. Doesn't have to be detailed but enough for us to know where we have been and the entrance/exit.

You know it’s never really said where it comes from but their is a companion comic for this game that explains some of the mechanics of it. The people that experimented on it fed it animals and learned when it consumed something it blended their bodies into itself. It learned from the worms hunger, from rats self preservation, from apes the ability to learn. From each animal it got smarter and the more it wanted to leave. It understood how much of a monster it was but for this reason did not fully integrate people into its mass, only their flesh and organs. Because it knew that if it ever achieved humanity it would become horrified at its own existence and kill itself. In order to escape it needed an untainted sample of Human DNA, one that did not have the mind of a human tainted with any form of morality, just the raw Genetic Sample. Only then could it take the form of a person.

For some reason I was following the tentacle tongue with my tongue... my mouth hurts now. Did they majorly spruce up the infestation animations since the demo? It's been a while but I don't remember them being this pretty. Maybe they were. I'm not sure if the main character is sapient in any human capacity, so I basically consider this a tragic case of gross mismanagement by lab security, rather then there being any real bad guy. ...except the guards with shields, those are the embodiment of true evil. You can't even eat them. They're horrible and they taste bad. Just the worst. I had originally planned to play this the same way I did Sea Salt; killing anyone that was a threat but sparing any non-combatants unless I really needed them for some reason. That quickly went out the window and I eventually felt guilty for wasting food if I didn't go back for every piece after clearing a room. As an Arakune-main, this also is just making me really wish for more amorphous protagonists in games.
