A propos of nothing I always appreciate the positivity presented with everything you teach, it's made old fumble-fingered noobs like me stay excited about learning new stuff. I'l be working on this over the weekend. You and Jeff McErlain are two of my absolute favorite Truefire instructors.
Here I am on a Saturday afternoon jamming along to some backing tracks when a TH-cam notification pops up from Corey!. I was destroying some Blues tones and now I can make them sound a little sweeter thanks to you . Awesome as always, thanks Corey.
Corey, Thanks for the lesson, especially the concept part. Now off I go to do this in other keys and locations on the fretboard. Key To The Highway is 1st up.
Thanks Corey! I will practice and learn this lesson and handle the chording. But, where can I get a tab or slow lesson on the rif you do just after the B7 chord! I see and hear you do that many times and have seen others do it too but I need some help please! What is that magical, speedy rif done here? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, John
FANTASTIC video Corey! Please make more of these killer turnarounds! One question tho: What makes that first turnaround actually sound as good? Also, how can we transpose these to other keys?
As long as you know the root notes and or 7th chord of the key you're in, you can transpose to ANY key. Turnarounds are essentially combinations of a 7th chord or triad with a diminished chord, minor chord then root. But that's a little complicated for a 7 minute video!
@@coreycongilio Hey Corey, thanks for replying!! Yes, a bit difficult to understand how to transpose. I will try to learn what you wrote. It will be super cool if you can make a video on how to transpose these to any key. Also plz continue to make videos on these turnarounds. I never found a channel that does it - could be a unique thing for you. Anyways, great video and thanks again.
0:30 is smooth as butter. ❤

Awesome lesson Corey. Love this stuff, so useful and necessary. Thanks for the thoughtful insights and explanations. Great stuff!
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
Thumbs up. The second turnaround is easier for me if I use the open E instead of holding the fifth fret on the B string.

Great tip Corey, thanks :-)
Greetings from Austin~!...Still rocking the Rhythm Factory: Texas Blues...great chord progression launching points for jam sessions...

Thx, glad you enjoyed it!
@@coreycongilio always do Corey your a fantastic teacher, player and human being you give so much
So who am I but I reckon this is the most clearest demonstration for the turnaround that I have come across. Thank you Corey.
Hey, if it works, it works! Also, why over complicate something we can learn in 7 minutes lol!
@@coreycongilio Brilliant man
@@theelectricvoyage Thx my friend
Great playing. Wish I had your "guitar face" game. Subscribed.
Unfortunately I can’t teach that! Thx for the sub!
Great lesson. Even managed to transpose the second turnaround using 1st inversion E chord (11 fret A string). Think I'm finally learning...😂

Pick, finger, pick, finger, pick, finger…CLAW!! 👀 I don’t know why, but that killed me 😂
Nice! Do you have any lessons for absolute beginners for Blues?
Yes absolutely! Email me at my site support@workingclassguitar.com and I can give you more information!
Can't seem to download anything from your site...
Thanks for detailing the fact that the root can't drop chromatically. I think I've made that mistake more than once.
Me too!
More importantly, what's the story on that SG, Jr.? Year? I'm guessing 63-65, based on pickguard and lack of Les Paul sig on truss rid.
64! Top 3 in my collection for sure!
