When war is your main character.. but you dont even show it
Lets talk about The Last Airbender's art direction and why it is so good.
In this video, we delve into the captivating world of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and its recent adaptation on Netflix. Through insightful analysis, we explore the intricacies of animation techniques employed in the series, from its fluid martial arts choreography to its vibrant elemental bending.
As we navigate through the narrative, we examine how the show's characters, including Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko, are brought to life through masterful animation and character development. We discuss the significance of their arcs and the impact they have on the overall storytelling.
00:00 intro
00:50 the origin of Avatar
02:40 the identity of each nation
08:40 conclusion
Incredibly sad how an animated show was focused on how shots are staged, when the live-action disregards it completely, going for generic angles.
This video feels like the first part of a longer video.
Just binged all your video! Some of the best film and storytelling analysis I've seen in a long while.
thank you bro! just uploaded a new video today :)
I hope you enjoyed my first video. Just started this channel, subscribe pls! (So you can say you were here from the start) I have many videos prepared for the upcoming days :)
Wow, this is your _first_ video? 😮 I would be forgiven for thinking, "Good video. I wonder what other subjects this person has covered?" only to find out this is it. The visual presentation is amazing. If I had to point out a flaw, and one that you're probably aware of, it's that the audio is rather too low in average volume and of markedly lesser quality than the visual presentation. Even then, I'm not complaining. This is your first video, after all. I can't wait to see you do hour-long deep dives on whatever interests you.
@@miro.georgiev97this is his first video in english but he has a main channel in spanish with more videos even better.
I think this is the very first time that the first video of a TH-cam channel is also the first video of theirs that I have ever seen.
You've had a previous channel, right? RIGHT???
This is why I'm not too worried about the next Avatar series. If the earth avatar is going to be from a modern or futuristic world, then they'll definitely take ideas from their original draft of the show. They probably have cool ideas from that time that we haven't had the pleasure of seeing yet.
So true, Avatar is an incredible masterpiece! This series will stand the test of time. Great video, Lancelloti! Really enjoying all of your content.
Videos like this prove why Avatar: The Last Airbender is perhaps the best animated series ever created, and far surpasses the quality even of other live action series made for adults!
Stay true to you and all will fall in place. I loved this video and the Andy Serkis video.
these are really high quality videos youre surely going to pop off
thanks bro!
The anti-war message was really in the zeitgeist too. It felt powerful to flip between Avatar and like, morning news coverage of the war in the Middle East. Both live action remakes lack that urgency.
your videos are AMAZING! Taking popular movie topics and bringing something new to the table every time, not one miss! Keep them going!!
I really like that you made your video about avatar with the same screen aspect ration as the series itself. It makes me feel like I'm watching the show instead of an analysis video.
Fantastic editing and excellent analysis!!! You did a wonderful job integrating the interviews and white arrows and outlines to show shape and form! I can’t wait to see more from you!
congrats on getting a viral video. this one is also great! keep it up! very originial take on things and interesting to watch.
Truly an amazing take on the art direction! Especially the asking why is so important for storytelling!
I totally fell in love with your way of analyzing. Your videos have such a high quality, thanks for your work!
The editing on this was amazing
shocked to find out your channel is only 2 mo. old. this is really polished stuff; excited to see where you go dude
This is so well done😮😮😮 I’m so surprised you really showed me things I didn’t notice that much. This is such a good analysis and the authors are so good at world building omgg 😲😲😲
You touched on a lot of the creative and art decisions that made the show wonderful, would love to hear you go more in depth about them. Especially the bit about culture, with war being the antagonist.
Awesome video deserves more views
Not here from day one, but I've ran through all your videos, and I'm so excited to see where this goes
I like your well made content i wish you the best of luck with your future projects
These are some great videos man, keep it up bruh
Just discovered your channel, it's so interesting, and now I discover you have a video on ATLA ?? Gosh, I rarely pushed a subscription button this fast!
Fantastic video I think I'm going to binge watch all your videos now
Great video! Looking forward to more content! :)
This is a great analysis, keep it up!
Hey friend, just binging through all your content after finding your channel (Congrats on the breakthrough with the Serkis video ;) )
I would be curious about some of the sources you use for your video. Would you consider posting some of these in the video description? The interviews and videos of traditional martial arts were particularly interesting to me. Best of luck.
Love your videos! This is really helpfull for learning about writing/animation thank you!
Great video my friend ❤
Awesome video mate! I really like this kind of content, keep it up, you're gonna be huge
thanks bro! lets hope you are right 🙏
Estoy seguro de haber buscado este video hace unos meses porque quería mostrárselo a alguien, a pleasure to watch it again with this twists.
Hey man, I just want to make a suggestions and not trying to hate. To me at least it’s very apparent around 5:15 and 5:30 you repeat the same line almost verbatim. I haven’t watched finished the video before commenting so I’ll let you know if there’s any more, but trying to work on that would help a lot. Great video so far, the only thing is literally the way one thing was said and the with this being a new channel I think it’s an amazing video. Good luck and keep at it.
I could watch one hour of this! Amazing!
Hey, I can tell you worked a lot on this video, so I was hoping if I could view your script for this video. Its almost like a very fluid essay, each point connecting to the previous. I want to take inspiration from this video to understand other aspects of the show, and life in general. Thanks!
Great video
Great video :)
Insightful as hell! Keep up the good work!

7:24 what's this music? I like it but can't find the title
I just subscribed to you. 😁.
thank you, Very cool
Pretty darn good for a first video.
I have to say, I hated the adaptation.
I thought it was the overuse of the Volume, but it's the cinematography as well.
Thank you for your insights on the original.
this series is the GOAT of all animated series and there is no was to change my mind.
Fire nation = US
Literally the same thing going on in real life
Is the voiceover an AI?
You’re cooked
for your first vid you sound like a seasoned youtuber
01. Hrm.
