- In 2017 my island Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane Maria. No doubt, the island was extremely damaged and the people were very devastated by this what had just happened. My home island lacked food, power and lots of other supplies. But, there's many things my island did not lack. They never lacked joy, effort, fighting, helping their neighbors, they never lacked being what a true puertorican is.That's why I adore this song so much. It's a song about a relationship, but a general relationship. In my case I dedicated the song to my home. The place that made me the person I am today. We can be going through the end of the world and we're still going to rise up. Te amo Puerto Rico, this is for you.
