Thank you, I appreciate your comment. The power supply is 110v for the us. I'm sure if you search online there might be an adapter that you can use. I always like to believe that if you can imagine it, it can be done or it already has. Best of luck.
Thanks for the comment. The netbook is really quiet and does not heat up alot if you are using it for casual use. If you are watching videos and doing other cpu intensive stuff then I found that it does warm up, especially the hard drive which gets warm. Overall the netbook does not get really hot just warm. Hope this helped you out.
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it. I did not experience any loud sounds from the fan, it actually was pretty quiet. Maybe when you use it extensively and without good ventilation it will do that.
The battery life for the 3 cell battery is about 4hrs, the 6 cell is about 8hrs just in case you want to know. You can install Ubuntu on it, I don't know if the wireless card onboard will work. You will need to search for Linux drivers.
I tried one of the hab models at my local best buy and i think the screen was pretty good. But for some reason there are 2 "different" hab models in that the black one has a 0.3 MP camera, and the other has a 1.3 MP camera, unless it's just a typo.
Any of these netbooks or laptops that have a glossy finish have the glare problem. This one seems to be fine but not meant to work out doors on a sunny day.
Nice review and look over of the netbook. I have been trying to find a new netbook to get for Christmas since they decided to yank the MSI Wind I wanted off the list... Truthfully, after seeing your review and checking the specs, I am kinda glad. Just need a few more bucks, and I can order one of these bad boys. Thanks for posting the vid.
Everything is preinstalled, it does come with a disk for the drivers. It is a good idea to make a backup disk. You can use something like GHOST which can create an exact image on another drive. Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. Best of luck.
The 3 cell battery which is the one I have here last between 2 to 3hrs. There is one that sells for more and it comes with a 6 cell battery that will last you about 7hrs. That is real hours of usage not the exaggerated time it shows on the internet on some websites which claim 10hrs.
Nice video but I was wanting a netbook that I could surf the net when I travel. What kind of features should I look for to do this. I saw one that had a sim card and you could surf the net where ever you can get cell service. Not sure what this feature is called. Does this model have that feature? thanks
hey, im back again, i was wondering where you got that wallpaper of the mountains? i really like it, if you could tell me where i can find it i would greatly appreciate it :)
The differences between the 2 are very small, the 1000HA-H has bluetooth, a better 6 cell battery, the processor is the atom n280 1.66GHz. The 1005HA-M has an atom n270 1.6GHz. Other specs are the same. The one in the video is the 1005HA-M
Well these netbooks are pretty much the same since they use the ATOM processor. Usually the difference is the hard drive, and memory. I would always see the quality of the screen to see if it looks good.
Hey nice vid.. Im definitely getting one dude!!! I only have one concern. I want to install windows vista on it, will everything work properly? Does it come with windows vista drivers and would you recommend it?
Thank you. I personally have the ASUS 900HD because it is so portable. The screen is 8.9" but it is great. The one in the video is great if you are going to do alot of typing. But I needed something small. What did amaze me about the asus 1005HA is that it feels so lightweight and at the same time the quality of the materials is really nice. All of this without paying $1,800 for a sony.
would this work great for listening to music and watching video in planes? and i know that the battery sucks im asking if the video lags while it plays and does the screen does a great job of showing pic and photos? I'm planning to get the eepc 1005 ha
if you guys want a netbook go for the upgraded version of this model. amazon has it for 381 it has the 280 processor, bluetooth, 1.3 mp cam and most of all 10.5 hours of battery life just got mine today and its awesome, getting the ram upgrade tomorow to 2 gigs im real happy with it
how do you like the speed of it ? I am currently using a acer ferrari 5005 and find it really heavy do you think the 1005 HA will be very very slow compare to it ? Can I do a bit of gaming on it ? And I am wondering how loud is it since the ferrrari is realli quiet also are there any heat issue? And how would you compare it with the 1008HA (or sth, is the thiinner version)
You're welcome, I'm glad it helped out. As I mentioned to another reader, checkout the gateway netbook review I did. That one is better than all of those.
Yes, you can run XP, VISTA or Windows 7. If you use Vista or Windows 7 I would upgrade to the 2GB memory. I'm not sure about the Hoda Touch kit. It might work. Search on google to make sure. Best of luck.
It already has a 1GB of ram and it runs great with Windows XP if you are going to use VISTA or Windows 7, I recommend to upgrade to 2GB memory chip. It only cost $28.00 and you can do it yourself in about 5 minutes.
Thanks, this was useful. I've been looking at the dell mini 10v, but this is almost identical in every way except for the fact that the battery doesn't stick out as much on the eeepc and the eeepc is cheaper. So I think I'm gona go for the eeepc. Thanks again.
I believe you can get the battery separate from the netbook. Search on Amazon or contact Asus directly. I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Best of luck.
GREAT VIDEO... NEVER WELL EXPLAINED..I was thinking of picking this one up for my wife for a XMAMS ... What do you think about the overall performance and craftmanship of this Netbook.. Wife not really a TECHIE just to sure the net and be mobile on the road and in the house...
Very informative video; thank you. I didn't realize the unit had a built-in microphone in additon to the WebCam. This should be great little Skype device too.
I see that you can change the wallpaper on this one. I just broke my toshiba nb205 sadly.. i couldnt change the background. I hope this one works cause my husband just bought one for me.
I can tell you that I'm very opened minded when it comes to new software especifically the OS. After trying them all, I still love XP. Everything works in XP, some things crash here and there on vista and windows 7. Windows 2000 professional was actually my favorite, XP was built upon that. I agree XP is a solid OS.
Yes you can put windows vista or windows 7. It works really nice and for everyday things this is a great netbook. It does come with all the drivers, and they are easy to install. Best of luck.
Thanks I appreciate it. This netbook is for sure a winner. I think it is really nice for all the things on the go. It is built really well. Best of luck.
Thank you, I appreciate it. The netbook is nice, I prefer the 1000HE because you can upgrade the drive, or change it if it gets damaged. It only has wifi, there is no Bluetooth onboard. You can buy a micro USB Bluetooth adapter for about $30. Best of luck.
Thanks for your comment. It is a standard windows skin that gives you the black like vista. Send me your e-mail and I will email it to you along with the wallpaper.
Hello, I was interested in buying one of these asus PC's, but i can only find 1005ha and he models, but at bestbuy i saw one with 1005HAB-RBLU001X, it's $279.99, and it has a 1.3 cam and XP, is it the same as this one? Nice video btw ;)
It is Intel's smallest chip. Built with the world's smallest transistors. Not very powerful but it will get the small jobs done. It is not for gaming or high end graphics. It work pretty good considering you can get a netbook for about $250. Hope this answered your questions.
The keyboard was not loud it works just fine. The fan is not loud either, it does come on often depending on the ventilation in the room and application you are using. Video tends to make the fan come on all the time. But the sound is acceptable. I would say GET IT! :-)
Hey man, The 1000H Series also has the Zoom In/Out feature... I have the 1000HA model and I use that feature, and more... Hey, and thanks for the video, I think this model is the best one in software, even better than the 1008HA Seashell...
Hey I really appreciate it. I try to do the videos with one thing in mind If I was looking to buy this product what would I like to see to decide if it is right for me. Thanks again for your comment :-)
i am getting this laptop after 2-3 weeks and i will show unboxing it will be my first laptop so maybee i will ask you some questions if i have thats if you dont mind and i am getting the pink one
Thank you, I appreciate your comment. The power supply is 110v for the us. I'm sure if you search online there might be an adapter that you can use. I always like to believe that if you can imagine it, it can be done or it already has. Best of luck.
Thank you, I appreciate it. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for rating it and for your comments.
Thank you!!!. I appreciate you taking the time to post your comment and thank you for subscribing. This particular model did not have bluetooth.
Thank you for your comment I appreciate it. Yes the CD they give you only brings drivers. Windows is preinstalled.
Thanks for your comment. Yes the microphone would make a nice thing to use with skype. The speakers are not that loud on the netbook.
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it. I did not experience any loud sounds from the fan, it actually was pretty quiet.
Maybe when you use it extensively and without good ventilation it will do that.
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for your comment. Best of luck.
I'm glad I was able to help. Thanks for your comment. Best of luck.
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate you rating it. Best of luck.
Yes I like the white one too but you have to see over time how the plastic does with the enviroment. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome, I appreciate your comment. Check out the new one about the gateway netbook. I think you would like that one better. Best of luck.
There's a thought. Thank you, I really appreciate your comment. Best of luck.

Yes the glossy finish makes it hard to use it outdoors because of the glare.
Thank you, I appreciate your comment.

is there a lot of difference with the 2Gig ram upgrade? Im about to buy the ram memmory on ebay.
hey man im subbed to you! and im replying 8 years later lol

there are two 300 USD models (atleast at bestbuy) one has win 7 and a .3 mp camera, the other has xp and a 1.3 mp camera.

Ummm can you give me a brief answer on this one... I need to choose between Asus Eee 1005HA and MSI Wind U100...
Good review- you keep a nice pace, and it is very informative.
Sorry, i meant, it is nearly the same as the one you reviewed? Other than less battery life?
Yes, you can run XP, VISTA or Windows 7. If you use Vista or Windows 7 I would upgrade to the 2GB memory.

Hi, does this netbook have a sim card slot in the battery compartment?
Great info video. I have just purchased this Laptop/Netbook and am awaiting delivery - so thanks for the info. Very useful :)
Yes of course. I actually do that when I'm going to have any laptop connected for extended period of times.
I'm glad you liked it. Thank you.

ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU17-BU Netbook

I was interested in buying one of these asus PC's, but i can only find 1005ha and he models, but at bestbuy i saw one with 1005HAB-RBLU001X, it's $279.99, and it has a 1.3 cam and XP, is it the same as this one?

is this model fast enough
or should i get a 2gb RAM?
Thanks, no it only comes with a drivers disk like I show in the video. Windows xp home is preinstalled.
Good review, I think I wanna get this netbook for my birthday.
It is Intel's smallest chip. Built with the world's smallest transistors. Not very powerful but it will get the small jobs done. It is not for gaming or high end graphics. It work pretty good considering you can get a netbook for about $250. Hope this answered your questions.
I forgot, Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it.
does this netbook run faster with the 1GB ram?
The keyboard was not loud it works just fine. The fan is not loud either, it does come on often depending on the ventilation in the room and application you are using. Video tends to make the fan come on all the time. But the sound is acceptable. I would say GET IT! :-)
Thank you, I appreciate it. I'm glad you found the video helpful. Best of luck.
Thanks. I'm glad you found it useful and it helped out. I do like this netbook, it is really nice. Great price on newegg. Best of luck.
I miss the era of Windows XP netbooks, these were great for college. There's no mini laptops like these anymore nowadays
does it have a dvd drive?
Has it got an HDMI CABLE?
@jaw2floor whats wrong with xp?
Hey man, The 1000H Series also has the Zoom In/Out feature...
I have the 1000HA model and I use that feature, and more...
Hey, and thanks for the video, I think this model is the best one in software, even better than the 1008HA Seashell...
Does it run Windows 7? or is to slow?
Can this laptop pick up wifi connection?
Why don't notebook makers put in a built-in handle on these things? Good video. Gracias. You are sharp.
@iamterence77 That's why you buy an External CD drive. Or use a Desktop/Laptop and copy the files.. :P
First thank you for your comment on the review. Regarding how I talk, I can't change it. This is who I am. Take me as I am, I can't be what you want.
@MindDoctor999 thank you for the comment and subscribing. I appreciate it. Best of luck.
Thank you, I really appreciate. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is really nice.
Hey I really appreciate it. I try to do the videos with one thing in mind
If I was looking to buy this product what would I like to see to decide if it is right for me.

Does it have a Bluetooth?
This netbook is really good but my favorite is the Gateway LT3103
JaliZzZ is right here in the US it comes without a sleeve.
Great review. Subbed and rated/faved. You cleared up a lot about this and I'm going to buy it. :D
Buddy I looked at the specs and its a 1.3-megapixel webcam. Check again. Thanks for your comment though.
this or the msi u130???
