    From what I can tell most of her ex's maintain a relationship with her to this day. That is both a testament to her and them --- she was just a free spirited barefoot Goddess that wasn't ready for any person place or thing to pull the reins in on her.

    Just ordered the documentary and looking forward to seeing it. Its funny, i loved her voice for such a long time and heard her songs but i never noticed what a wonderful person she always was and is. My wife and I searched a song for a karaoke evening with friends a few months ago and we listened to somewhere out there, dont know much and I told her what a great voice this Linda Ronstadt have and that was the time when I first realized what an important singer she is. She means so much for so many people and i dont know why, but it touches my heart that she seems like such a nice person and through all the years she stayed true to herself. Now im so happy also that I loved her voice for such a long time and get finally to know the person Linda Ronstadt through the documentary a little bit. I wish her all the best. You are loved in Germany, Linda and I truly think she is probably one , if not the greatest singer. I literally get goosebumbs everytime she sings with her powerful voice.

Her voice is so... true, beautiful, almost angelic yet has moments of soul, grit, and edge. In my eyes, she is the Queen of Music, not just country, rock, soul but MUSIC because she could perform all styles effortlessly.

      As a European I think all these comparisons between living politicians and Hitler or Stalin or Mao are out of order. These three were mass murderers. Any person who does make the comparison (and they are mostly liberal/left wing) shows their own stupidity and simultaneously trivializes all the victims of the Holocaust, Stalin's gulags and Mao's 'cultural revolution'. Now if leftwingers would get that through their thick heads, I might take them a bit more serious.

      @@claytonf375 Ranting? Sorry sir, but in most west european cities jewish people can not visibly walk the streets because they are spit on, insulted or attacked. This is not done by our version of Trump supporters, but mostly by muslims and condoned by left wing politicians and mainstream media. They refuse to view these attacks as acts of antisemitism, very similar to what is happening in NY. So if you want to make an analogy with Weimar I would start looking in a different direction. Or you can rely on whatever people like Ronstadt say...

    As an added note, for Kate to say Linda's close relationships with other women took place at a time that was "well before women lifting up other women professionally was something that anyone really talked about" is troubling for its obvious ignorance of women of the time. Have you never heard of feminism? of the Women's Liberation Movement, of the ERA? of Gloria Steinem? Betty Friedan? of organizations like NOW? These were powerful women who understood very well the power of mutual support and fought side by side for your rights and the rights of every other woman.

      The interviewer referred specifically to female artists bonding together, supporting one another's career on all levels including emotionally and artistically. People don't realise the magnitude of sacrifices artists must make to achieve their artistic capacity and maintain a successful artistic career, certainly for women! Helping one another blossom...discover and achieve recognition for their talents and thrive on their own career path within the wholly male-domated music industry where women are shamed, belittled, bullied, run-down and ridiculed...nothing has changed there...in fact, it's more a meat-market than it's ever been and the general public are brainwashed to act as an extension of this fact. It's a crazy business, it really is...very tough!

    It’s really sad that we’re loosing all the great musicians. Music today will never last for decades like the classics. If we don’t have them and new music from them at least we will always have their music, we must never let it die and teach every generation to appreciate it like we have. I watch twitch and it’s funny when you see younger people loving a remade version of a really old song and they think it’s new!! Music from the 60’s-80’s I’d like to say will live on forever! The stuff people call music nowadays is not music! There’s a few good artists but their music isn’t going to stick like the oldies.

    The millions of struggling Americans she just wrote off in her hurtful, uncompassionate statement the other day have something to ask her: "When will I be loved?"

      That is J.D. Souther. Singer-songwriter extraordinare!

  • @peterj.andros3996
    @peterj.andros3996 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    J.D.Souther fails to mention how Ronstadt stole the music of lesser known black musicians and bought Sinatra charts from Nelson Riddle for her album, Lush Life.
    Not to mention robbing the pop style of Ranchera from the great Mexican song
    bird, Lola Beltran. Yeah, Souther, Ronstadt's beautiful, powerful, and exceedingly rich, which you failed to mention along with everything else. Linda Ronstadt's just plain obnoxious and always has been.

    I'm heartbroken to lose her voice, too. I wish she'd get with Sedona Arizona Karen von Merveldt-Guevara's regimen to arrest and reverse Parkinson's symptoms.
