Jayesh Taneja yeah he has but Tim Paine retained the ashes and is on a test winning streak he built Australia from absolute deverstation to being an very good team test team
Shame none of them were honest enough to reveal the real reason they don't like facing Johnson is because they want to have to actually play the ball rather than seeing it swing into the next net.
I hated batting in the nets against short pitch bowling. I always felt like I didn't have room to pull or hook, and I'm sure the quick bowlers were bowling no balls and rushing me.
You'll never have room if you have got a closed stance or falling head...... I realized this after experiencing this same discomfort myself..... The best way is to not take your frontfoot across in your stance and try to even keep it slighlty towards legside and second is to keep the stance slightly open...... Don't try to crouch too low, rather stand straight with slighlty bent knees and weight completly on front part of your feet so that you can move quickly..... And keep watching the ball with a keen eye and practice responding quickly immediately the moment you see the ball pitched short..... Back and across movement of backfoot is so helpful..... Sorry for my bad handwriting I'm not a native.....
In order. Michael Clarke Cameron White Nathan Hauritz Shane Watson Mike Hussey Doug Bollinger Callum Ferguson Marcus North Brad Haddin Tim Paine Clint McKay
A few of them today can bowl as fast or even a touch faster than Mitch Johnson..The only 3 guys that were in tier above all were Akhtar,Lee and Tait..Although Tait while up there in terms of speed didn't couldn't keep up for long like Akhtar or Lee and was sometimes all over the place...Starc did reach 160 but on a day to day basis is in a tier below
I dont think lee was in the team at the time you also have to look at IF he was at that stage in his career he was alot more accurate/sensable so he wouldnt hit the batsman as much as he would have when he was younger
Ponting may as well be the best batsman ever. He is the best batsman to bat so well for so long at the position no.3. Kallis and Tendulkar also had to move down the order and to quit captaincy. Ponting played with the heavy role of Captaincy and no.4 Imagine Ponting without all that burden.
fjbutch He was like overated in the nets. We often like to imagine things before us were better than they were. But for me, Thommo was overated, his stats throughout his career suggests the same thing. For me, Brett Lee was fastest bowler. It's one thing to bowl a couple of 150s+ in an over and the remaining balls at around 140s. Brett was a sexy looking monster. He was by far one of the fittest guy around. He kept himself fit enough to play for as many games as he did. I have watched him bowl entire overs with each delivery clocking around and above 150-155 clicks.
It sounds like Johnson is a far better net bowler than out in the middle under the pressure of a match. That's why they kept picking him for so long. :(
@Gillysbiggestfan when he's not go his rhythm happening and he's bowling about 137 it wouldn't be that fast for a world class batsmen but when he's bowling 143-149 thats very quick even for them.
Blair Donohue No you are both wrong ... What he actually said was : Haddin: "So Punter, he must have a nightmare in there . Maybe that's why he's the best in the world "
It would be good if they put up the names of the players on a lower third graphic. I'm sure most people watching this know who they are, but if you're only a casual follower of the sport, or you're just getting into it, its pretty lazy post production not to have peoples names up so you can get to know unfamiliar faces better :/
I'm sure if you were facing 150 kph you wouldn't last an over. No one likes playing fast bowlers, not even the best batsmen in the world- ask Tendulkar, even Bradman when he was alive said he was terrified of Larwood, the English fast bowler. No one likes fast stuff, the pros included.
Got this in my recommended from 9 years ago.
Lol same except I had watched it b4

2:12 it’s funny how I used to watch this video thinking “who tf even is this bloke” now he’s the captain of our test side.
The accidental captain
Jayesh Taneja he is a better captain then smith at least
@@Moz976 I think smith has given better results than paine
Tim P

@@vigneshmurali7055 what nonsense 😂
And Johnson bowled slow back then compared to when he destroyed englnd
CoftSock he wasn't slow he was still very fast when he was younger but all over the shop where as when he destroyed England he was fast and accurate.
2:15 young Tim Paine was snac
Johnson outperformed all bowlers in the one day series this year.
Shame none of them were honest enough to reveal the real reason they don't like facing Johnson is because they want to have to actually play the ball rather than seeing it swing into the next net.
no Brett lee?
i was expecting his name to be on the front
they r lucky he's retired
i think he was injured because he played the world cup couple months later.
Well u have to go back few years then buddy xD now a decade .....
he is said in an interview he would not have played to cause damage. But he did sometimes.
@@brownie43212 not retired yet ...he played odi in 2012

Shane Watson just attracts nasty bouncers
Akhtar, Wahab, Johnson in the nets even when he's trying not to hit him lol
most of these players have tired or not in the team anymore. time flies
except Tim Paine ofc
Mitchell Starc and Shaun Tait 🏏🥇🎖🏅🏆🎗
It was Mitch johnson
Yes

Shane Watson wasn't joking 🤣

I love Australian cricketers. These guys play for their country rather than focus towards earning money.

@rahuldalwale Problem with Lillee is that it wasn't just him. It was Thomson as well. He didn't know where it was going and neither did the batsmen.
all the negative comments abt ricky ponting .. defnetly indian. truth hurts . ponting is the best captain out there ..
cant imagine tait and bollinger practising batting
Tait "uncontrollable" that is an understatement
Either a hard Yorker or gives away 5 wides
Hey! Thanks a bunch Jimmy! :]
glad Johno giving some of those bouncers to the poms
My favourite all Australian players of all time
Oh come on, he has extremes of brilliance but also extremes of the horrors. It's not just bad form.
love these videos man
Cricket is my favourite sport by Steve Irungu Jermaine
Shane Watson could become an actor in his post cricket career.what a cool, handsome guy.
Wonder what Jeff Tomson was like in the nets...
fjbutch Hungover and grumpy, I'd wager.
Now that would not be fun.

Haddin made a great point! :)
He did not
How come no one said Brett Lee?
This video was made after his retirement
Watson😍😍😍❤❤👍🏻👍🏻
Haddin just hates facing anyone because they all get him out!
Every year there is a 'net' injury of some kind ,you'd think they'd go easy on their team 'mates' wouldn't you?
Tim Paine... net bowlers don't bowl in Test Matches. No wonder you haven't scored a run in The Ashes.
I dont think anyone scored in this ashes
From aus it was smith and wade
And england it was
It sounds like Johnson is a far better net bowler than out in the middle under the pressure of a match. That's why they kept picking him for so long. :(
@rambothan Since he debuted at no.3 and hasn't not performed until now and last year.
I got the recommendation now🙄
anyone who says they don't want face short balls needs to face them for practice because they're going to get them in a match
It be surprised if Mitch could even get one to pitch
I wouldn't say that. Starc did amazingly against SL.
they are talking abt mitch johnson
@Gillysbiggestfan when he's not go his rhythm happening and he's bowling about 137 it wouldn't be that fast for a world class batsmen but when he's bowling 143-149 thats very quick even for them.
How can you be scared that Mitchell Johnson will hit you?
I'm surprised nobody said Brett ! He has the best and we'll directed bouncer❤
Brett then was way past his prime. His best was from 2003 to 2006
Hadden "Punter best in the world". lol
Correct Way Of Saying That: Haddin "Punter best in the world. lol
Blair Donohue
No you are both wrong ... What he actually said was : Haddin: "So Punter, he must have a nightmare in there . Maybe that's why he's the best in the world "
mrossco He meant of Ponting as in a captain. And he had a good point to be honest.
But if the purpose of net training is to improve and maintain your skill, should the batters not be determined for the challenge of the fast bowlers.
I'm Having a Fear of Facing Fast Ballers 🥴
says someone who never played professional cricket
The best captain currently is MS Dhoni . What ever he does works . I mean captain not batsman or wicketkeeper.
Shaun tait is the worst of the fast bowlers aussies ever produced. Great pace but no control😣😣.
@M Harish AND hazelwood. Cummings
brett lee probably didnt go too hard in the nets like the younger guys
burchison lee wasn't in the twam
stop dissing mitch. unlike the rest of you, he has played for australia.
Feel pitty for Indian batsmen... they will never face anything over 135Kmh in nets... no wonder they gets baboozel when they see a genuine quickie...!
@getreadytowiggle1991 Tim Paine. I think
Marcus North I think. Remember him?
It would be good if they put up the names of the players on a lower third graphic.
