    INFJs are actually known for being the most Extroverted of the Introvert types and commonly mistaken for extroverts. This is true for me. When my “battery” is charged, I’m the life of the party, at social events, I love thrills like roller coasters, etc, I’m loud, animated, and theatrical. I draw a lot of attention. Now, I can’t do these things back to back. I need the next couple of days to go into my introvert hole until I’m charged again.

      Same Helena! INFJ's can easily manipulate or affect people with that Ni-Fe, even more than ENFJ's according to my experiences so yeah, we can be the heart of the party if we want to be. But for me, it is taking too much energy without making me happy. Like you, I would prefer a deep talk for hours than being in a party and ROLLER COASTERS IS A BIG NO FROM ME LOL

      @@ege7417 I'm in a stage of my personal evolution where I understand that I need to take those next couple of days to "recharge" after being extroverted and "life of the party".. due to being neglected as a child I was depending on this aspect of my personality to fulfill those social needs that I never got as a child, drinking, socializing, overcommitting to friends/acquaintances to "feel included" but in turn I started to feel more and more burned out which only kept spiraling out of control, this describes my 20's, now that I'm 32 I absolutely must recharge if not I will spiral into a week + of misery and feeling unbalanced in my day to day routine...I guess I had to take it to the extreme to understand what I was doing to myself

    The part where you state that the INFJ is very introverted even among the introverted types... I know a lot of INFJ’s (I also am one) and as a whole we are often mistaken as extroverts.
    We actually tend to be the most extroverted of the introverts. This obviously doesn’t mean that we are extroverts because we still draw our energy/ recharge from alone time but most places that you read about INFJ’s will state how they tend to be mistaken as extroverts.
    Thanks for the video. I understand my ENFJ friend a lot better now 🙂

      I don't it as I can't see any Ni-Ti convergence; I see plenty of Fi-Ni though 😊. In the Jungian sense extro & intro do not pertain to how social a type is but rather how they primarily take in information. Many people mistype based upon bogus tests and behaviourally imbued type descriptions; the reality is cognitive INFJs are very rare indeed.

    You said “The INFJ and INTJ are both known for being extremely introverted even among the introverted types." Actually, I have heard that INFJ's are not the most introverted types, and can often be mistaken as extroverts. I would say that for myself (INFJ), I need to socialize.
    Good video, but slow it down a half step on the delivery pace.

      For me, I love hanging around people, not really talking to them but rather just interacting and watch them do their thing. When it comes to talking, I typically stick to 1v1 conversations and the second a 3rd person comes in, I shut up and listen.

      @Shannon Hurley I've also seen many INFJs be mistaken as extroverts, it's because of Fe! I turn into a very different person when I'm with others, it's pretty instinctive and I enjoy that in short bursts. I tend to like to get along with everyone too. It's a different matter though when things get deep, I don't like it that much and prefer to do that one on one and people I like. Wanting to be close with everyone is a sign of lack of boundaries for a young INFJ, considering their high standards. So I guess this is the natural progression of things. Alone time is a necessity! And when they are in that phase, it'll be a 180-degree turn.

    INFJ
    Seek meaning and connection in ideas, relationships, and material possessions. Want to understand what motivates people and are insightful about others. Conscientious and committed to their firm values. Develop a clear vision about how best to serve the common good. Organized and decisive in implementing their vision.
    ENFJ
    Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, wat to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group and provide inspiring leadership.

      ENFJs are Fe-Se convergents they focus on the micro re people as opposed to the macro so they're not particularly social. I wouldn't necessarily say that ENFJs goal is to help others develop but rather to implement their own Ni-Ti vision. I believe most people are mistyped for this & a multitude of other reasons

    It’s amazing that you get so much into details while it’s not even your personality type.
    Thank you for breaking this down, your time is very appreciated, I think we tend to forget or we even ignore how long these videos take to make. Although, I can tell that you’re an introvert from the tone of your voice, a lil flat..

    A critique of your description of the ENFJ. Around 6:54, you conclude that, as a result of repressed Ti, ENFJ's will make decisions based on how THEY feel in the moment. Fe makes decisions on how OTHERS feel in the moment, or at least their perception of those feelings. The ENFJ's interior sense of self (immature as it may be) comes from their Ti, not Fi (which would be their weak 5th function in socionics) and they largely ignore their own feelings.

    • @t5396
      @t5396 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When it comes to their self-worth, enfjs are constantly doubting their self-worth, they often might feel kind of worthless.

    • @EmmaLBartley
      @EmmaLBartley ปีที่แล้ว

      Ti isn't weak in 80% of cognitive ENFJs according to empirical studies by CPT; Fe and Ti are on an inextricable axis indeed age operates at the behest of a Ti agenda. I have a highly fluid axis at 50/50 and Ti is my strongest function as a cognitive ENFJ. I believe the inferior notion is why many people mistype as an ENFJ when this would be much more indicative of a cognitive ESFP. ENFJs are one of the most versatile types to thrive within an environment that calls for logistical thinking.

    Hi, great video! One point I just want to make at the start is that for an XNFJ I feel that Extraverted Feeling more communes with the whole, meaning everyone is recognised as an aspect of the One. We are all connected because of our soul/spirit, as opposed to the society thing which I feel is recognised as a construct.This might get channeled through societal ideas and positions ( e.g. Obama going for office. ) BUT those positions and ideas are only used as tools to enlighten humanity to the possibility of living a more harmonious existence.
    Just felt driven to write this as I feel frustrated with definitions of Fe as conforming to social standards, taking on societal constructs etc because I feel that if those standards/values contradict the Ni insightfulness they'll be dropped like a hot poker. This is in contrast to an XSFJ who I feel will be more inclined to accepted the traditions as important in themselves. An Intuitive Extraverted Feeler will depart the path in order to fulfill the vision and only accepts the norm if it does not offend the general feeling of harmony between individuals. Otherwise the ENFJ or INFJ can become quite the contrarian and will rebel against the establishment OR persistently seek to change it from within. Either way the values come from within as opposed to without.

    • @hfortenberry
      @hfortenberry 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah my Mom was an INFJ and she had very strong values when it came to human rights and stuff like that. She told me of a story about when she was in junior high school, when Martin Luther King was shot. They made an announcement over the school speaker and she said other students around her cheered while she cried. She was devastated. She loved MLK Jr. and brought us up to be very non-racist.
      And she would go against her family's religious beliefs BECAUSE of this, because they were strong Baptists who taught that all other religions were not the right religion. Mom felt that was wrong. She would say "How can you say that a person born in India is going to hell if they are not prosilatyzed to and adopt Christianity?" She was repulsed by that. As I got older and learned about Fe, I did not recognize her as having Fe because she was so independent in her feeling. It was probably what I admired about her most.

    • @EmmaLBartley
      @EmmaLBartley ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree re the misconceptions of Fe; Fe is NOT about people pleasing, far from it and it's also worth mentioning as you correctly put that Fe-Se operate at the behest of a Ti-Ni agenda.

    Okay, I've always heard that the ENFP is the most introverted of the extroverts. And I thought the INFJs are the most extroverted of the introverts. My Mom was an INFJ and she was really introverted in her later years but in her youth she was pretty outgoing. She liked to interact with people not in a wild, partying way but in more intimate, smaller gatherings where people could talk. She was really good at this. But as she got older, she said that was too stressful for her and she preferred just being a homebody and being with her family and nobody else. Thoughts?

    • @matheuscrepory7013
      @matheuscrepory7013 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds, very INFJ in my head. The INFJ extroved side is talking/ connecting with people (Fe). Even though they have Se, that function stress then out, like party's and going out, they tend to dislike high sensory places, and that's were come they introverted side, they prefer to be in home or calm places even though they can be very sociable.

    • @EmmaLBartley
      @EmmaLBartley ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the Jungian sense intro & extro have nothing to do with sociability. Indeed I'm a cognitive extrovert primarily but a social introvert. Most people mistype as these rare types owing to this & a multitude of other reasons.

    Me and my bff are tied to the hip. Im a ENFJ-T, she is a INFJ-T. I have indeed seen myself as highly introverted despite being extroverted. Its because i keep alot of more serious personal thoughts n matters guarded from others until i feel comfortable to trust someone with those thoughts and feelings. Because they are ones that bother us most and we have a hard time accepting them and fear of ppl not accepting them also.

    That seems incredibly problematic in societies of past, where misogyny, homophobia and racism was rampant. Fe adopting hateful values as a bridge to harmony is hardly something to be admired. When standing up for someone means intense discord within a group, it seems as if Fe would prefer not to do so.

    • @EmmaLBartley
      @EmmaLBartley ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No misnomer. Fe isn't about harmony for the sake of harmony; ENFJs can be even more disagreeable and frank then their ENTJ cousins

  • @EmmaLBartley
    @EmmaLBartley ปีที่แล้ว

    The irony being I can't see any usage of Ni-Ti in the comments (an ENFJ can be equally convergent in this regard). It makes me wander how many ISFPs & ESFPs are mistyped as INFJs and ENFJs. I'm not knocking your Fi-Ni convergence guys it's just highly prevalent as is the Se-Te pairing in your comments.

    By "your problem, my problem" do you you mean that extroverted feelers assume the problems / feelings about said problems from others? @AsuraPsych

    • @EmmaLBartley
      @EmmaLBartley ปีที่แล้ว

      No this is a misconceptualisation of Fe. Fe is generally perceived as this huggy teddy bear function which it isn't. Indeed cognitive ENFJs can be even more disagreeable than ENTJs.
