Could you imagine being there for 3 months & return to life as you knew it knew it? I couldn't , wouldn't leave. It's so open majestic, alive and beyond. So beautiful!
I've traveled and visited 90 % of the land mass in the lower 48, and have been asked by many people where I think is the most beautiful part of that land mass. My answer is always Southwestern Colorado, and the San Juan mountain range in particular. Will have to say, this ranch is one of the best examples of that spectacular part of the world. Excellent job you did on the video. Thanks for sharing my favorite scenery of all I've ever seen. I love Montana, Wyoming, Utah and northern Arizona, but the San Juan range is as good as it gets in my opinion. 👌

Sorry it took so long to reply, this property was listed for $28,950,000. We ended up selling it twice in 2016 and it is now back on the market but is listed by a different brokerage. It is currently listed for $24,950,000.

I know this ranch well. That view no longer exists. All changed. Those buildings are no longer there. The houses are still there but anything associated with the operation of the ranch was moved. The white fence is gone. Staluppi did a wonderfully nice job; he invested millions into it after he bought it. Had beautiful white-fenced horse pens west of the house; that's all gone now. Hay shed to the southwest of the main house was taken down also. It's sort of ruined. Very plain now. At one time, it was absolutely beautiful. No longer what it was when Staluppi sold it. It could be returned to what it once was but it would require a lot of work again. Sad situation.

Other than the dead animals as "decor" this place is fabulous. Love all the woodwork, especially the hickory walls. The view is amazing.

I love this ranch. I wouldn't buy a Colorado ranch, unless it bordered a river or a lake, and this does have a river running right adjacent to the main gate. I'd buy a Colorado ranch for its alpine landscape, a California ranch for its ocean frontage, a British Columbia ranch for its ocean frontage, a Costa Rican ranch, again, for the ocean frontage, a Patagonia ranch for its pristine wilderness, lakes and rivers, but never a ranch in any other part of America. Wyoming, Idaho, Dakota, Texas, and even Montana landscapes are too dull for my palate.
We all have different needs and I wants. I'd buy the Reservation Ranch, in California, and Stealey Mountain Ranch, in Colorado, which is either the Chimney peak or next to it, because it has quite similar views.
The TV series Yellow Stone has sent the prices of Montana ranches through the roof, when they aren't very scenic. Wyoming ranches are even worse.
I'd be buying the ranch purely for recreation, not for the returns. The huge pools of money released by the Federal Reserve have even found their way to the ranches to send their prices soaring, when they have an abysmally low return on the capital invested

I like the Chimney Peak Ranch better lol. The difference being one has about 26.000 acrs of leased land that comes with the deeded land, the other doesn't.
@@jonathanbrooks917 its the same ranch just named 2 different names is what they're saying. It can't be listed as Stealey mountain ranch by Hall and Hall and listed as Chimney Peak Ranch from these people with 26k acres extra.

Hall and Hall did a fantastic job on their video! They had the latest listing on the ranch and we represented the buyer on the latest transaction in December of 2019. Making it 5 consecutive times we have sold the ranch. But yes Hall and Hall made a very nice video.

The main house looks artificial to me, almost plastic. I'm wondering if the exterior, at least, was coated with something like polyurethane.
Horace, the main house is hard to portray on film .... but it's all wood. Not really sure what they used as a coating on the exterior wood but I'm sure that it has been treated to protect it from the weather.
Just shy of 29 mill, and it looks to be worth every penny. Oh damn, it sold, Guess I'll just have to buy Hogwarts instead.

I was born in Colorado and I lived all over the state when I lived in Montana they were always saying that Montana was prettier than Colorado and I said why do you even make comparisons if you love the Rocky mountains it's all the Rocky mountains. People go to Denver and think they've seen Colorado. It's like going to Disneyland in the hot summer of July in California and you think you've seen all of California and you get home and all you can talk about is the smog and all the people in the freeways and you're like I don't ever want to go back to California. 🤣🤣🤣

When the previous owner decided to sell(soon after) he wanted to change the name because he was going to list it with someone else. Even now under new ownership the ranch will locally forever be known as Chimney Peak Ranch.
