God bless you!
Thorough review, I appreciate you keeping the talking at a minimum and letting the playing speak for itself
Thanks so much!
I know people hate on this pedal but if you really give it a chance it can be the most amazing pedal!!! I love it
most underrated pedal imho.. had one before, sold it, immediately regret it.. so far this is the only pedal that stays on my board.
E' un ottimo compressore, e guardando il video mi hai fatto voglia di riprendere il basso in mano e di suonarci sopra con LMB-3!!! Grazie!!!
I’ve totally went fretless with my ‘62 jazz Jaco - I like grunge & Jaco, so a mongrel of styles. I use a CS3 at the start of my chain going into a few effects then into a Preamp driver - quite fancy getting a limiter just before the Preamp to level my output to cut through in band mix 🤘🏻
Thank you for the amazing review Rumblin Man.I own LMB-3 along some other bass pedals by BOSS. Its one of my very favorites and always ON. I wish it had another knob instead of Enhance. Attack for example, or Blend. I ve found enhance to roll off some useful frequencies of my sound, so i Never ever use it above 10 o clock.(Maybe 9) ...
keep the quality videos coming bro !
Memphis Bones thank you very much, brother! You from Memphis, btw?
@@RumblinMan Thanks for your reply : ) Memphis Bones, its just a nickname. Its the name of the funeral home of the Undertaker in Lucky Luke. I am actually from Athens, Greece.
What's cool is that you can find these pedal used for like $40-50 bucks all over the net. I have a full pedalboard, but when I'm in a hurry and can't bring it, I toss this in my gig bag.
Andyuf2 absolutely man!
Just ordered this ! Picking it up today I’m pumped
Sweet! Congrats.
The ratio is the main difference between a compressor and a limiter. A compressor has a low ratio that turns down SOME of the volume when it goes above the threshold. A limiter has a huge ratio that turns down ALL of the volume that goes above the threshold.
I bought a shit load of pedals (including this) and forgot about it, I ended up just going digital with everything, TLDR I was cleaning and found this pedal and two others I lost in boxes that didn’t get sold , gonna test it soon 😮
thanks for the video, I'm using a Boss BC-1X, I'm loving it, but if it ever dies on me, I'll definitely check out this pedal out.
Great another informative video from Rumblin Man! It's been a long time, I've been missing your videos... God bless you Brother!
Guy frQC hey brother! Sorry for the delay. Had a busy few weeks. Glad you liked the video! God bless you.
Thx for the great video! Took my LMB3 off the board for awhile since my amp had compression, but now going DI and have it back in. I feel I won’t blow out the PA subs now😂
I have a problem clipping when i play my low strings, would this be better than a compressor in my situation?
I’m not sure that any pedal could help. But I’d go with the MXR bass compressor pedal.
@@RumblinMan thanks for the feedback man!!!
@@mcguycurtdome2569 for sure bro! The main thing I would suggest for the clipping is to lower your pickup height.
@2:25 have you made that follow up video yet? Im torn between this pedal and the Boss LM-2B?
Recently subscribed and really enjoying your videos. Great stuff!! Was just looking into getting this pedal. 🙂
Thank you for the positive feedback! I’m glad you enjoy the content.
In what position should I put this pedal inside a pedal board?
Excelente revisión.
Sounds like swapping a Precision into a Ric or a Jazz with Tone Down.. GEDDY, SQUIRE..likely sound really good at slap..
I've seen quite a few reviews that say the enhance feature creates a lot of noise if you don't use a noise gate, would you say that's true?
I haven’t experienced extra noise with it, but wouldn’t be surprised.
Hey Rumblin Man, I'm looking for a pedal for bass tapping, would you recommend a Limiter / Enhancer or a Compressor / Sustainer?
Both! Honestly. Because a limited can beef it up while the compressor can set the levels.
Hi Rumbling man, do you get any hiss when you turn the enhance know up above 9 o’clock? I got mine today and a little disappointed how noisy it is with the enhance knob turned up
J Bartholomew hey man. I actually don’t have this pedal anymore, but don’t remember getting any hissing.
Wow, dude, you play a wicked bass. Do you play an acoustic bass, too?
Thanks so much man!! I appreciate it. I don’t have an acoustic bass that works but I do enjoy playing them.
What are good knob positions for a punk style of play with the pedal
There is no standard setting... All depends on your gear because every piece has its eq curve, freq, impedence and natural compression... Strings, Pickup, wiring, amp, speaker, eq... As you can see there are too many variables.
This is the vid I’ve been looking for ! Been wanting to get an lmb3 fo awhile now.. you covered all the points I wanted to know.. but just one question, where would this pedal be placed in the chain ?
God bless
Your brother in Christ
Alexander
Alexander Garcia God bless you bro. People usually would place this toward the beginning of the chain. But, it kind of depends on how many pedals you’re using and how you want to use this pedal
Rumblin Man
I’m running a few boss pedals
Starts with bass into a tu-2
Dunlop geezer butler wah
Odb3 bass overdrive
Ceb3 bass chorus
Bf3 flanger
And an rv3 reverb/delay
Alexander Garcia I personally would go tuber first, this second.
Rumblin Man I will absolutely try it when the pedal comes in !
Mas me gusto las linea de bajo que tocaste...
Guys do I need a power supply for this or it's battery powered?
Both
Had this pedal for years, everyone else is right, any enhance setting above 9oclock is way too noisy but a useful compressor without that setting.
I have a preamp DI now and a compressor built into amp so feel that it doesn’t have much use anymore though.
Beringer is a dead on copy but they stopped making them & so no longer $27. Eye popping bargain at the time
I wish you'd show us clean tone first.
That's not what the threshold does
I hate compression!
Why am I watching this??
I dunno, why are you?
