As a Croat I can say that our people said "Well if we don't win atleast we got this far..." - that's how we think. But it was so satisfying to see them win against England JUST because of that trash talk and the way your people takled about ours. We have good people in every sport and we are proud of them even if they don't win, we love them because they give joy to us. You underastemated not just our players but our country and the number of Croatian people. It's a shame that such a "big" country has such a small character.

I'm from England and honestly it wasn't how it was back home. We respected how talented Croatia are and felt it could go either way. English Pundits don't always reflect what English people think. Croatia were brilliant and I wish you the best of luck in the final.

jeff kennedy i agree, I commented another video not to overrate them because they are the first team ever to never lead in regulation at any point in any round of the playoffs and be playing the finals. I get that. But to ignore their ability to compete against top talent and succeed is annoying from these analysts. They were down within 5 minutes of a match twice in these playoffs. Somehow they come back from that is insane. 2 games not allowing a goal for over 100 straight minutes is insane, 3 straight going 85 min scoreless against. They have played 90 extra time minutes... that isn't a game extra, but an extremely tight and stressful extra game to play. Constantly hear they are too tired but clearly England was worn out before Croatia was. I'm not asking all 4 of them to pick Croatia, I'm asking for 1 of these guys to act like they have a legit chance. 3 wins over +100 odds.

Yeah, these people are hopeless. They just can't fathom how a team like Croatia can make it to the final, they will dismiss them regardless of the facts. Even if Croatia wins the tournament, they won't give them full credit, they'll come up with 50 excuses how they got lucky, how they had it easy, why the other teams underperformed, what psychological games the coach played, etc. It's a waste of time trying to get them to see what the players are actually doing, they see what they wanna see. Well, they might have had to face Spain or Germany if they made it further, but still, I don’t like how people put down “smaller” teams when they perform well. Problem is, there may not be much more to be known. Winning by PKs is pure luck, unless you practice it diligently like England apparently did. Either way, it means you didn't outplay your opponent. In best-of-one playoffs like the World Cup, unpredictable factors play a role and many times the winner is just random. Croatia could have lost to Denmark, and no one here would argue that "Croatia should have reached the finals". So give people a break when they didn't predict it, it's unpredictable to a large extent.

That the croatian team is great isn't a secret at least since the last euro. They played great and eventually lost to Portugal in an unlucky (for them) game.
I don't get,why everyone is reacting as if this was some kind of curiosity. Or as if Croatia could only win, because their opponents were really bad or they had good luck or something. This is not like Greece winning the Euro 2004, they're actually a good team.

Give Croatia the credit they deserve - they've won every match they played, including against Denmark which France played to a draw in the group stage as well as shutting out Argentina which stuffed the French net 3 times and could have beaten them with a little luck. The media and the pundits underestimated them. I'm not so sure the England team and fans did though. Croatia's greater experience showed. They also looked significantly fitter and less tired at the end than England.

Think about how Croatia played against Argentina. They won not becuase Argentina was weak (they were somehow), but the croatians did not give them ANY chance. Even after they lead by one and two goals, they simply did not let the argentinians to attack. It was briliant, the single way a smaller team can beat the ”big beasts”. Do not forget these croatians were as children in the middle or almost in the middle of a civil war. They are not afraid of their shadow or anybody elses shadow. Go Croatia. Show that money is not everything.

I dont think England players were arrogant, but pundits were soo obnoxius before the match, they laughed at Slaven Bilic when he said Croatia had good chance, they were already analyzing France for the final. This is ours most satisfying win ever

The lesson is don’t sing “it’s coming home” until you’ve actually won. Making victory seem inevitable was the common theme of British punditry and it is not good for a young inexperienced group of players. assuming the players were exposed to what the media was saying, it’s likely that all those dismissive pundit comments about Croatia went to the players heads. They scored the first goal, got complacent because they assumed Croatia would get “tired”, and went into disorganized panic mode when things started to vear off script. Regardless of whether southgate took Croatia seriously or not, there is no way the punditry, and the medias whole narrative of inevitable success didn’t have at least some influence on the players.

Their draw would have been a walkover into the finals. They only had to skip all the knockout games before the finals and only play the finals against France, which would have lost. An easy runner-up finish for England team.
You guys underestimated Denmark who had not lost for 16 games in a row, they are very good defensively. Croatia should have beat them before penalties when Rebic was walking into an open goal and got tripped from behind only for Modric to miss the penalty. Also Russia, this was their home world Cup. Who did England beat?????? Croatia had a strong group also with Argentina, Nigeria and Iceland whom have also been a strong side in the last four years.
