I love this podcast and look forward to weekly releases - so I hope this comes across as constructive rather annoying. I’d happily take fortnightly releases if it helped the research aspect be better - rather than have to watch you google info/ not be sure of the cars or subjects being discussed - during the podcast itself. I feel the podcast would flow smoothly and allow you both to shine. Otherwise, love hearing from you both, and love the dynamic, and look forward to more episodes.
Is it me or does it feel like the podcast always misses out on breaking news, would have loved to hear Sam's thoughts on Jaguar's marketing campaign and them deleting all their old content EDIT: Some people don't understand what I meant, I just noticed a pattern in these news stories breaking on a Wednesday, but because the podcast is filmed earlier in the week Sam and Tony aren't able to talk about until the following week. I wasn't complaining, just noticing a pattern.
I did not even know Jaguar was developing a new Trans Mission. This company is really shifting gears. I bet it is a 48 speed so it has a gear for everyone.
This podcast was a difficult listen this week. I only made it halfway through. I would much rather you pause or spend more time researching/ preparing for the topics to help it flow better, even if it means less frequent releases.
Sorry, but not the greatest episode with Sam stuck looking at his laptop for most of the episode. Shame as I usually prefer this channel over the main channel.
As this video is pre recorded you wouldn’t have seen the new Jaguar rebranding ad. When you review it next week keep Tony on a tight leash or your video will be demonetised. Personally I think It is the biggest load of crap I have ever had the misfortune to witness. R.I.P. Jaguar.
Regarding Jaguar I totally agree with you. It makes me a bit sad, because we all love the brand (until now), I think you do too. I fear for their future, which also applies to Lotus. A lot of great British brands are going down the toilet. Again, very sad
The worst episode you’ve put out in years… totally unplanned and zero research. Complete drivel and embarrassing. First time I’ve ever switched off half way through.

To import a car to Ireland from mainland Britain you have to pay, 23% VAT, 11%customs and then an illegal Irish tax called VRT&NOX that is essentially up to the government. It is outrageous, for example, a plain m4 would roughly be 15-20k to import to Ireland from England. That is just on taxes. To avoid the vat and customs, you can import form NI, providing the car has been registered in NI prior to brexit. If the car was registered in NI post brexit, you pay the identical taxes as if the car came from England.
Love these videos ordinarily and have never been negative before not. But, if you’re lucky enough for this to be your job and you’re not having to do a full time normal job like the rest of us, at least do us the decency of putting some research in and producing a good video.

The idea in Norway at least (just like in Finland) is to join the elites to abuse the government and tax revenue to funnel lots of money into your pockets, then you can afford to buy the car you want.
I can tell you a new V8 Mustang costs about 100.000 pounds (120.000 euro) in The Netherlands. So we are pretty high up there I'm sure (with exception of maybe Singapore and a few others). Another funny one is the new Toyota Land Cruiser which has 100.000 Euro in taxes on top of the price of the car! Same for "road" tax , a normal diesel car costs about 150 a month in tax. Some luxury cars can be hundreds a month in road tax alone.
The used EV thing is a genuine problem. I think a good test and I know it doesn’t really fit with your channel but I hope a TH-camr will buy a used Tesla from say 2015/16 and show what the battery life is like. How much will a new one cost. What are the other issues?

Hyndai have won car of the year for the last two years so it won't surprise me if they win again. Also please don't sleep on Byd guys. Do your research. They're bigger than what you think.
The price of 2nd hand cars in the UK is lower because the market is so small. No-one in Europe wants a RHD car and that situation has got even worse after Brexit because now there are import duties and VAT to pay when importing a car from the UK. LHD cars can be sold to anywhere in Europe and the world. Sales within the EU are even easier.
Ferraris depreciate a lot also based on what price point they hit the market, they would probably hold their value better if they weren’t so high now, because the competitor can be priced better

@Brian.Jones.310 2 Roma variants, +2 12 Cilindri, +4 SF90 Stradale, +2 296 and you can bet 2 more 296 will be around the corner soon, then the Purosangue. That's before the F80, which would make it 12, models so you're right, I did miss a count. If you count pre launch future models it's gonna be at least 14, before speculation, after speculation 17.
@@F1ll1nTh3Blanks That's bit of a harsh calculation considering the spider variants as separate cars. And some of the cars have been discontinued like the Roma coupé and SF90 Stradale. Also, order books for the SF90 Spider is closed, so is that of the Roma Spider. Overall, I see like 7 cars - 2 supercars: 296, SF90. 2 V12 cars: Purosangue and 12Cilindri, 1 entry level car: Roma, 1 icona series car: Daytona Sp3 and 1 halo flagship car: F80. And the good thing about these cars is that they are different from one another. They aren't like using the same v8 and platform over and over again.
@Brian.Jones.310 They're still selling them last I checked and besides, the accusation levelled at McLaren was too many models and those were variants of just a few models just like for Ferrari. So now I am wondering where that energy is now for Ferrari.
I used to love this podcast and really look forward to it, but it really is going downhill. The lack of effort to do some basic research and come prepared with at least some basic factual content is painful. "TWO UNINFORMED INDIVIDUALS"...... it's a shame and little wonder the audience isn't growing as expected. Also for two enthusiasts it's becoming a bit jarring that they are only really interested in cars they can afford, i.e., up to 200k odd and nothing more, while most of their audience will have far lower budgets yet are still enthusiastic about all cars. Get off the laptop/phone Sam it's not great for viewers

I’m from 🇨🇭 and here the retail prices of new cars are about min 14-23% more expensive than in EU,min 18-30 % more expensive than UK and min 35%+ more expensive than in USA.The annual taxes for a car like mine M440i 2023 is about 1800 paunds.Last year i had GLE 63 and when i sow that from 01.2024 the annual taxes became 3000 paunds i sold my favorite car ever because it’s becoming not only crazy but also i find it discriminative and offensive
Artura = £140K, sure, but how much more for the second car while it's being shuffled from repair to repair and dealing with their horrible customer service, plus all the repairs?
I think only our second hand cars are cheap as the cost of running as in petrol and tax and servicing is so high. I got an uber in Portugal. 4 up and for 15 minutes. 2 euro 90.

38:12 you need to look at the Leaf and Zoe for 10-15 year old EV "bin" values.
Pre 23 for me I’d never by any new car second hand all day long
Belgium here - car fan, and it’s bloody awful. In the south, even if you buy a second hand car you still pay high first year tax rates
hopefully aston martin actually comes out with Valhalla in 2025
I think only our second hand cars are cheap as the cost of running as in petrol and tax and servicing is so high. I got an uber in Portugal. 4 up and for 15 minutes. 2 euro 90.
Sam title doesnt match the thumbnail lol
