There is a video report to Björn and Benny at 1976 Christmas time
there the reporter asks them if they have a preview of a song, and there they play the melody (without lyrics) of the future "Thank you for the music"

is the first song of the mini musical that ABBA performed on their 1977 Tour of Europe and Australia
there it has other lyrics, which even mention 'John and Paul' (The Beatles) and Agnetha sings in Doris Day style
The song is at the end of "ABBA The Movie" and is part of "ABBA The Album"
"Thank you for the music" it's a very special song for the blonde singer Agnetha
she just came back from Australia Tour shortly after she got pregnant with her second child
When it was time to record it, she was in a very advanced stage of pregnancy, and to sing it she had to do it in a forced position
When you see her in each presentation, Agnetha's face seems to transform with joy when interpreting "Thank you for the music": her gestures, her looks and her pouting are unmissable
